Whilst the staff are pleasant we would not recommend a stay here unless you are severely hard of hearing. The live music from the two bars either side starts around 8 and finishes around 3am every night. It is absolutely unbearable, you can hear it echoing all through the corridors and especially in the rooms facing the street. I had earplugs and also put a pillow over my head and could still hear it, it’s like torture, it seems to get louder and louder. It felt like I was trying to sleep in the bar (no exaggeration)The windows are not particularly thick, the curtains barely cover also so there is a lot of light coming in. When the music finally stops there is a street cleaner which is also loud, to top that there is work in progress in the building opposite. I can honestly say this was the most unpleasant stay I have ever had in a hotel in my life, if we could have afforded it we would have moved however we paid via *********** and this was non refundable. We loved Istanbul but spent most of the week walking round like zombies from lack of sleep. The room was not made up a couple of times, the coffee was not replaced, we only had two sachets in 5 days, we were only given one towel when the room was cleaned, the blanket on the bed is very thin so we had to ask for more, it was still freezing at night, the pillows were also quite lumpy and uncomfortable. I think it’s going to take us a while to get over this trip and severe lack of sleep.
