Sun Comfort Hotel

Room very small, furniture needs updating especially the bed, pillows etc. Someone entered the room, but nothing done except straightening the duvet on the bed. Bathroom was as I had left it. Kettle, paper cups, tea and sugar provided, but no water supplied

The hotel manager was very accommodating. Instructed me on directions, phone service and usage, where to shop, tours to take, transportation and the locals. Breakfast buffet very filling. I was woman traveling alone so all hotel staff made sure I felt safe and well accommodated.

This is a good budget hotel, located a few minutes walk from the Kumkapi fish market and restaurants, and within easy reach of the main tourist destinations in Istanbul (up quite a steep hill to the Grand Bazaar and tramline). The rooms are clean, with air conditioning and wifi, and the area was surprisingly quiet at night. The breakfast included in the room rate is a generous all you can eat buffet. Adem Yesilgul, the owner, could not have been more helpful in dealing with a series of out of the ordinary requests to do with expedition issues, as well as the more usual tourist enquiries. We enjoyed the stay and are grateful for his help.

I stayed at the sun comfort hotel with my husband and 4 sons. I contacted the hotel directly to book and was a good rate. They booked me a connecting room but the room was a through room and there was no door between 2 rooms and there was only one shower room. The hotel was 10 minutes walk to Kenyi Kepez metro and same distance to Biyzanet which is where Grand Baazar is. Bim/Migros and Sok – local supermarkets are 2 mins walk where you can pick up any items. 20-25 minutes walk to Hagia Sophia/Blue mosque. From there you can go to Eyptian spice baazar via tram or 10 minutes walk. Also can take a public ferry to see the Asian side. Rooms are dated and needs some tender loving care. But for the price you pay it is not that bad as rooms are a good size and basic Turkish breakfast is included. We paid £75 per night for 6 of us. I was happy at this hotel and the service was good if there was an issue they would come immediately to sort out. The A/C is centrally controlled so they put it on high so eventually you switch off from room but that didn’t bother us. Room was cleaned daily and sheets changed every 2/3 days.
