Barbera Hotel

The hotel is ideally located in the north of the old town very near the tram with easy access across the bridge to Karaköy. The service was great (fast check-in, available for questions, happy to arrange a yellow taxi to the airport on short notice), albeit I preferred to find recommendations online than refer to the hotel staff. The room itself was comfortable, modern and clean.

Let’s start by the staff - kind, helpful and always smiling. We absolutely loved the hotel, comfortable and very central with only few meters away from main attractions. Thank you to all the staff in Barbera for making our first trip to Turkey so warmly welcomed.

This was the most incredible stay we have experienced. The guest services were incredible. They provided us with the most attentive service, giving us recommendations of all kinds. We took their advice and not once were we disappointed. I could not believe how much the staff at this hotel would do for us. It was simple, perfect.

Very friendly and helpful people. The hotel is cited in the best region where all the sightseeing is nearby. Very silent during the night. There is a parking for the car right opposite the hotel and the tram near to it.

We stayed there during June. My initial reservation was for a room with a double bed but plans changed and we asked for a room with twin beds instead. Although there was no availability for another room and we were a little uncomfortable to share, the room was really nice and clean. We really appreciated the small fridge where we could store our water bottles instead of the usual mini bar. The staff at the reception was kind and attentive , even though they were not able to fulfill our request.

A perfect 5* stay at the Barbera hotel. The front desk is manned all night and we were offered tea; coffee and water, no matter what time we arrived back at night. The night staff spoke perfect English, as did the owner, whom we also met during our stay. The room was clean and tidy and bed was comfortable. The hotel is close to a number of restaurants and a few minutes walk away, is a main train station and tram lines and information centre. The hotel can arrange to get you picked up from the airport, but we chose to use an Uber instead. If arranging your own taxi, you may get dropped off just a few minutes walk from the hotel (Depending on how busy the traffic is and this will also save you on waiting costs if sitting in traffic). We found the hotel to be in a great location for. There is ample choice at breakfast and a person may also order a small selection of hot foods from the friendly team. Tip if using the tram lines close by, buy one tram card (50 Turkish lira - approx. £1.42) with the option to add 10 trips (an extra 110 liras approx. £3.12), which gives you both 5 rides and can be topped up again if you need more. One card can be used by several people.
