I would give this more 2 1/2 stars vs just 2 based on location and staff being nice. This hotel was probably quite nice when it opened, but sadly not well maintained, at least not with the 3 rooms we saw 601,602 and 401. If you are young and will spend the entire day out and don't care if you have to switch rooms due to problems it might still be worth the price because of location...but leaking ceiling, holes in carpet, 10 min to achieve hot water, broken sink, musty smells and last two nights without heat were all issues for my husband and I both age 50 plus. I understand this is budget but still how can you let things get to this level and still give these rooms to customers? The location is very good, short walk to both tram, Galata port and many cafes however the hotel rooms itself were not okay. I wanted to write an authentic review so if there are older people considering this location, please be aware of possible problems. We did appreciate the friendly cleaning staff and the fact they gave us free taxi to airport after no heat for 2 days. I would say the fault lies somewhere higher up and not with immediate staff in trying to cut corners.

This place is so noisy I almost didn’t sleep for 5 days. Even though our hotel room was on 4th floor, we could hear everything from the street. Music and noisy people every single night. Can’t imagine how loud it would be if your room is on 1st floor. And the walls in the hotel is so thin you can hear everything going on in the other rooms. The staff almost doesn’t understand English, and are not very serviceminded. When you enter or leave the hotel, they don’t even look at you or say “hello”. They can’t help you with booking restaurants. We asked for an extra blanket, since we had to share one bed, and sharing a blanket/duvet is very annoying. We had to ask 4 times before we got it! After asking 3 times we had to go downstairs WITH the blanket and show it to them, and they were confused and thought we were weird because we wanted an extra. When I was sick my mom asked if she could buy some yoghurt because all the stores were closed. The simple answer was “no”, even though they had a breakfast restaurant. We wanted to order breakfast when staying at the hotel and wrote to them before we came, if they could make a gluten free breakfast. They just said “no we can’t”. We NEVER experienced this before. We also had to ask for an iron, and when we got it it didn’t work. Why do they even have a iron which doesn’t work? And we had to wait a whole day before they could find another iron.
