Danis Hotel Istanbul Old City

Not a bad hotel, not a bad area, and not a bad service. Just breakfast would be better.

Good location, WiFi is excellent, staff are friendly, number of power sockets in room, nice clean property, daily room cleaning, my family had a good stay, nice marble flooring and tiles in bathroom, Grohe and Ideal S fixtures in bathroom, Spa is excellent, is private but to be booked in advance for a set time. Guest have to pay to use spa. Points to improve - hot breakfast should have more options. We were staying close to lifts, slightly noisy when a big group is talking

I booked Danis Hotel after seeing ******* had rated the hotel as an "8.0". The site showed spotless images of clean rooms and public areas. On October 16, after 36-hour trips from SFO to IST, I got to the hotel. I was given a filthy room (images/video available) with a 20-inch jail-cell window that opened to 2 walls, 40 inches apart, with the loud sound of generators. The carpet looked filthy, the room smelt like an ammonia-filled garbage dump, and the towels looked like unwashed kitchen rags. The mold on the shower glass/walls was disgusting. After taking a few images, I returned to the front desk. Based on what I witnessed, it seemed the images on *******'s site were either CGI-rendered or photoshopped. The manager got extremely upset and told me that if I didn't like it, I could leave. After a lengthy rant, he said that "this was a take-it-or-leave-it " and "Good luck finding a new hotel in this rain." Shocked, I returned to the room to remove my unpacked luggage and tried to take more images. I was angrily stopped. Luckily, I had taken some earlier. Calling ******* for help, I was told repeatedly that their system was down. Using Google Translator and asking for help, I began looking for a new hotel. After $100 of "Gift" to those helping, I found a new hotel. The new hotel would take only US$, with a 4-night minimum. (receipt available). Sadly, I got sick the next day. I woke up with a terrible cough. Two days later, fearing I might get further ill, I left IST.

Great hotel! Fulfilling breakfast with many choices. Helpful stuff! Definitely would stay again

We want to file a complaint. Simply, we arrived at the hotel with a "CONFIMRED" booking and found that the hotel doesn't have this booking! As they said .. we did not confirm to ********** these rooms!!! Result was a terrible night till we find another 2 rooms with a significantly higher price!!! Really a very unpleasant experience. BR

The cleaning it’s very bad, after check in I found hair around all the bed so I had to call them and manager came to change the sheets ( so disgusting) the guys in reception are rude and they don’t understand anything I told him to change the sheets or I will move to other hotel he said you can go ahead and move we will rent the room to someone else but the money it’s not refundable, I had to call every night after I come from Bussines metering to get clean towels because they always forget to replace them also the towels smell like a farm, the breakfast was good but the utensils all dirty so they had to wash them and bring them back I will never go back to that hotel

Location it’s very good, but the staff it’s very rude, cleanliness it’s bad they had to change the sheets after I check in because the were all long hair from someone else

1st… we couldn’t even enter the area to get to the hotel. The roads are blocked until 9pm. We had to park far away and walk in to get proof of our reservation, then walk back to the car and fight with a guard to allow us in. 2nd no on street or free parking, no valet, and the price quoted for parking was far less then what they tried to charge when we arrived. Only parking is in a garage across the street. 3rd Spa is self serve only and pool is by appointment only in one hour time blocks…no poolside bar 4th we booked our reservation with ******* online with a pay at hotel option… after all the struggles to even get to the building we didn’t want to fight more… but the price was double and in Euro. From $112 usd to 252€ their explanation was their person hasn’t updated the true prices on ******* yet. 5th when we requested a manager, we were told that there was no one available … we were asked to pay and they could fix it later. It was never fixed… so we disputed charges with our credit card company. Photos helped. 6th rooms are not sound proof… we got to listen to everyone coming and going all night long as well as the family drama in the next room. 7th room was in decent condition, but the carpets were stained and dirty.
