Even a one for this hotel is too high a rating. In fact, it's a complete minus. This was my second time in Istanbul, my friends were staying in other hotels at the same time, and there was already something to compare with.
But I'll start with the fact that we booked a room on trip.com. The administrator was even confused when he heard about this service. He said that he did not see the reservation in his system and found it only after calling someone on the phone. It's good that trip.com had a reservation voucher, he confirmed the payment. But then the administrator said that our room was already occupied, and he would give another one (I was not surprised here, this is normal practice in Turkey).
Here I will clarify that we checked in for the period 12/28 - 01/04. And the administrator added at the end that there may be a hitch with rooms due to the New Year. If our room becomes available, he will move us there. In the following days, when I asked about this relocation, the admin would ask in response, "what's wrong with the current room?"
Before booking, we looked at photos on different websites and services: everything looks decent, clean, the rooms are bright, like new. But what they put us in can hardly be called a room. By the way, I never found a photo of it anywhere. The entire room is a micro-room, where a small bed, one stool and a closet fit. You go in, and to close the door behind you, you bump your knees into the bed. I'm standing by the bed, I see a door to the closet to my right, but it turns out that it's to the bathroom. Only 1 person can squeeze through between the bed and this door. And there's a U-shaped passage around the bed for only one. My friend and I sat on the bed to let each other through.
There was only 1 shelf in the closet. It separated the upper part, where you can hang things, and the lower part, where there was a mini-fridge. We both put things on this shelf. I asked the admin to put in at least one more shelf, but he replied that this was a standard room and that it was New Year's Eve, and most likely they wouldn't be able to find it. We only had hand luggage, but we still had things, and there was nowhere to put them except in the closet. Of course, they never gave us an extra shelf.
The view from the window was to the yard, or rather the wall of another house about 2 meters away. Everything was really sad there, you couldn't even see the sky because of the superstructures and balconies above us.
There is Wi-Fi separately at the reception, and separately on the floors. We were on the second floor, but our Wi-Fi worked terribly, so the phone automatically switched to the reception.
With all the minuses above, the main one is that during the entire stay, which was almost a week, they cleaned our place only once. And that was only after my request. By the way, it also slightly surprised the administrator. He said that additional money was needed for cleaning. staff, and it's New Year, so it's unlikely to work out, but there will be wet cleaning. Indeed, they gave us soap and new shampoo. But that's all. They left towels and bedding, we used them the whole time we stayed there.
Our friends lived nearby, in the palladium apart hotel. For almost the same money, they had a completely new, clean and fresh room, where cleaning was every day. We wanted to move to them, their admin even offered us a discount, but our admin refused to return the money (it was New Year) and we had to stay.
To be honest, I don't know where so many positive reviews about this place come from. Last New Year 23/24 we stayed in a completely broken area (neva flats hotel), and there was a very good room there, with a view of the city and even breakfast. Here, except for the location in the historical area, there are no advantages. I highly do not recommend it, do not look at the photo
