Perché sur une colline, avec vue sur les cultures régionales, on se sent bien. Farniente sur des transats, des canapés, ou dans l’eau de la piscine. Restauration sur la terrasse de l’hôtel verdoyante. Tout parfait, grâce aussi à la gentillesse du personnel. L’hôtel en général, ainsi que notre chambre (et les autres probablement) sont récemment rénovés.

We stayed for one week from 22/9 to 28/9 2025 in our chosen room (103). We have been regular visitors since the original owner, Johnny Laager, opened the hotel back in 2000. The Swiss hotel chain: Sunstar Hotels bought the hotel some years ago, and this has changed the service level - to the worse. The present manager, Hotelier Peter Mueller and (most) of his staff is doing an excellent job in the spirit of Johnny Laager. However the new ownership is cutting down on basic things like the selction of breakfast, which is comparable to a motel on a french highway - and that is not a recommendation. We had 25 years of joyful stays at the Castello di Villa. But not any more. When small family owned hotels are bought by bigger chains things go bad.

A charming hotel. We found this place in a rush as our original accommodation wasn’t up to scratch, leaving us to frantically research other options so as not to ruin our weekend away! This is an excellent 4 star hotel. In my experience 4 star hotels either verge on being 3 star, or miss a couple of touches that make it 5, and this is firmly in the latter camp. The staff are delightful and attentive. I don’t know the names but both receptionists and the lovely chap who served us both nights in the al la carte restaurant warrant a special mention Food very good, not incredible but decent enough with 2 restaurants, one al a carte and one ‘get what you’re given’ Room was enormous, tasteful and elegant design, comfortable hard mattress (how i like it) and clean well equipped bathroom. Mini-bar somewhat understocked and seemingly no room service (see point above re 4 star) but no problem there Overall It has a relaxed informal ambience about it that simply works well and feels right Love this place!

The views are beautiful - rooms dated and the bed was actually on the floor - air conditioning was not working properly so it was probably 80 degrees F in our room - limited selection for dinner - not walkable to anywhere. We frequent 4 star boutique hotels - this is not a 4 star - perhaps a 3 star - I'm sorry but would not return

What a beautiful estate on a hill in the heart of Piedmont! At first, you might not realize it's a hotel, but once you see it, it feels like staying in a small castle. The hotel manager stands out for his professionalism. Always present and attentive, he ensures everything runs smoothly. His friendly and professional attitude sets the tone for the whole staff. They're all very nice, helpful, and make you feel at home. The rooms vary in views, ranging from the backyard to the wide-open spaces of Piedmont. Each one is comfortable and offers a unique perspective of the beautiful surroundings. Food: The meals at the Locanda San Michele are fantastic. Every dish is prepared with care and adds to the overall experience. This place is a must-stay in Piedmont. We'll be back!

The hotel itself is lovely and very imposing on the rolling hills, we enjoyed our stay, but a few of the staff lacked the customer service attention we would have expected for the price we paid. That said others were fantastic and attentive (especially in the restaurant for our eveing meal, Would we reccomned this place - Yes we would - mainly for the food and views.

We went there for a short vacation with friends. The property is beautiful. The service was very detailed and warm. The bed was so comfortable I fell asleep the moment my head hit the bed. We will definitely go back.
