I was unsure whether this hotel would live up to the pictures and impression given on the website, but it absolutely did AND MORE! What a glorious place to spend a few days! Stunning grounds that have been lovingly renovated and were beautifully maintained and cared for with beautiful views of the sea. This allowed for peace, privacy and tranquility! The owners are rightly proud of this wonderful place they have created and their pride is evident in their desire to do everything possible to make your stay the best it can be. We had a wonderful ground floor room, accessible directly from the outside, which was light, airy and had all the comforts and amenities you could think of. Breakfast is undersold on the website! A wonderful selection of items to choose from pastries, cereals, fruit, yoghurt, cheeses and meat, plus a selection of breads and preserves - everything was so well thought out and wonderful attention to detail, as with everything in this hotel. To top it off, eating breakfast overlooking the beautiful gardens, with the patio doors flung open makes for the perfect start to the day! Although the hotel doesn't provide lunch or dinner, they have taken the time to put together a very comprehensive list of recommended places, covering a range of budgets, tastes and cuisines - very helpful. We also loved the concept of the well-stocked 'honesty bar' which added to the very personal nature of the hotel. This was replicated in the pool house, which also showed how the owners had thought of everything you needed to be comfortable and relaxed (except for a warmer pool - not sure the temperature gauge was working properly - it was really, really cold!) After an incredibly stressful few months this truly was a 'haven' to come to and I would highly recommend it to anyone who is after a peaceful location and beautiful surroundings. Thank you so much David and Arielle - we WILL be back!
