Postcard Inn Beach Resort & Marina

We just returned from spending three nights at the Postcard Inn for a friend's wedding. There were so many things wrong with the property, I'll list them in bullet points: - The front desk staff, although nice enough, were clueless. When we asked them a basic question about why we needed to check out after two nights and check back in for our 3rd night, they literally stared at me with no response. It was straight out of a SNL skit. When I checked out for after the 2nd night, I had to resubmit the registration forms again and give them my credit card. Guess what, my wallet was in my safe. I got the deer in the head lights stare again when I asked how was I going to produce my cc when I was now locked out of my room...fortunately I had my phone and used Apple Pay...I'm not making this up. - The hallways were filthy and full of trash, mustard packets, toilet paper, sand, etc. They weren't cleaned up for two days. I can't believe one employee didn't pick up the trash as they walked by. The hotel grounds and common areas were fairly clean. - Our room needed a renovation and thorough cleaning. The flooring was cracked, the ceilings needed painting, the water pressure and temperature vacillated anytime a neighboring room flushed their toilet. Our room wasn't cleaned for the first two days. The room smelled like mildewed, sour towels. We didn't have a top sheet for those days either, until I asked. None of the housekeeping staff spoke English. It was difficult to even ask for a towel of tissue...I finally found some on a cart. - Be warned, and not the hotel's fault: the sargassum sea**** bloom is for real. The beach is covered in it and the water is full of it near shore. - Service note, our friends hosted 76 people at their wedding. I estimate they were responsible for ~$80,000 - $100,000 of revenue for the hotel. When they asked for a late check-out on Monday so they could say goodbye to friends, they were denied. Finally they were given a one-hour delayed check-out....very generous of the hotel. - We were charged a $40 per day resort fee.....hmmm, this is a rip off. - The service at the Tiki Bar was slow and unfriendly. The pool bar service was better. - Ciao Hound, I'll write a separate review, but beware, service is sloooow and the servers untrained, food is mediocre at best. To sum it up, I felt like I was back in Ft. Lauderdale on college spring break at a seedy hotel...yes, I'm dating myself.

We absolutely loved our stay at the Post Card Inn! The property itself is absolutely beautiful. It has palm trees, tiki huts, beach front lounge chairs, bikes, kayaks, paddle boards, a marina full of beautiful charter boats, a big pool, a small swim up pool bar and a restaurant with an ocean view. My 14 year old son was even able to rent a fishing pole to fish off a dock at the neighboring property. It even has a Starbucks at the front of the property for your morning coffee. It really was that great! Our oceanfront room was oversized for a hotel room and the view and location were definitely worth a few extra bucks. The beds were very comfortable- great mattress, blankets and pillows and made for a wonderful night’s sleep. Last but not least, I have to mention the staff. Everyone was fabulous! From the front desk check in (I can’t remember her name but she shared her story about moving from Oklahoma upon retirement) to the guys cleaning the beach in the morning after a storm came through, everyone was kind, helpful, and worked hard to create the relaxed climate at this resort. I would highly recommend staying here and would love to come back in the future! PS - some of the buildings are being remodeled so I can’t wait to see the rooms come next summer. And FYI, I was worried about construction during our stay, but barely heard or saw anything.

Great stay at Postcard Inn. Perfect location if you are trailering a boat. The little beach is a beautiful relaxing spot. The drinks were delicious. They offer paddle boards, kayaks, and bicycles. Starbucks on premises. Be on the lookout for iguanas! Perfect habitat!

My Husband and I stayed at the postcard inn for our 1yr anniversary and we enjoyed every moment from the live music at tiki bar to the great food & staff, I can’t wait to go back. Beautiful property and special mention to Odane who sent a Card to our room with Drink vouchers. loved it

Lovely comfortable room with comfortable bed. Rooms have everything you need including a microwave & coffee maker. Room was nice & clean but had a lingering cooking smell. The corridor could use more care as some pieces of small rubbish remained throughout our stay. Accommodation is in blocks. No lifts in the blocks so if you’re upstairs that could be a problem. One block is currently being refurbished so a complimentary room credit was automatically applied to our bill. The work was hardly noticeable when we were there. Breakfast in the restaurant was tasty but not very a**ospheric. Strangely the restaurant then closed for the rest of the day only leaving outside venues with fairly basic offerings. Ok as we had exceptionally dry weather but it would have been an issue if a rain shower came down. Also restaurant staff couldn’t tell the difference between the cheesecake & key lime pie and nor could we! Great Starbucks on site which we made good use of for drinks and light meals. The star point of this hotel though is the setting which is absolutely stunning. Lots of space to sit & chill and watersports on tap if that’s your thing.

we had stayed at the postcard in May 2019, had a great time, so we returned. The resort is in a state of decline, the swimming pool at the poolbar was disgusting, cloudy with a huge scum line along the pool edge, we were forced to avoid swimming, when i talked with a maintenance man, he said to call management. we stayed in a cottage, the nearest ice machine had been removed, i was told to walk 3 bldgs down for ice, the upper pool's coping is crumbling and falling apart, there are 3 lounge chairs, where there used to be 25, 3 cabana day beds with gross stains on all of the cushions, we went to the tiki bar for lunch, huge bar with no more than 6 stools, bartender laughed when i asked if the resort would get more stools, used to have over 30. the Ciao Hound restaurant, that was previously great, this time was filthy, with staff standing around looking at their phones, dirty floor, unbussed tables. the enchanting gas fire pits all around the cottages, that were lit every night last time, no longer are functional, the boardwalk that goes out to the pier is coned off and falling apart, jagged boards, uneven boards, with woodscrews 1 inch out, we saw numerous guests tripping while trying to walk by the cones. I WOULD AVOID THIS RESORT!

The place is falling apart for one !!! we have went several years in a row but they REALLY don’t care about there GUEST & my husband had gotten Covid & we had to cancel our trip to Key West & on our way through we ALWAYS make it a point to stay one or 2 nights with them at Post Card & least if not stop by for a drink BUT now it’s gonna be anther place because with this bing said when I talked to the front desk they WOULD NOT REFUND ME my money they gave me a 35$ & that’s so wrong BE AWARE I even asked to be rescheduled for next year they said nope

This inn is a marketing ripoff! The $3,000/week cottage we stayed in only had a loveseat, coffee table and a bed! Nothing like the photos! They need to bring in a GM and hospitality staff that can make the guests feel special. We had to request housekeeping 3 out of 6 days there, including pest control spraying for ants and bugs. The shower leaked into the wall and around the toilet every time we used it. Guest service is not important to the employees! Obviously all your website marketing and photos are BS! I cannot say anything real positive about spending my honeymoon with my wife at your Inn!

LOTS OF THINGS TO DO. In an afternoon we saw the beach, tiki bar, and kayaked in the key. Awesome service super friendly people. Room was small but perfect for a one-night. Good communication. Plenty of parking.
