The hotel service is very poor and discriminates against Chinese people. I have lived in hotels all over the world and it was the first time I met such a strange service staff. I booked a sea-view room. I went to the hotel at 4pm and said that there was no sea-view room. I gave the worst room type, and the agent was not able to communicate. The beach of the hotel is not allowed to swim, the environment is poor, and the scenery of the homestay is much better than it.

1) the beach on the property is not enjoyable. You can’t swim. They have large bags filled with sand and those are gross. They have algae on them and they are slippery to walk on. Which you would have to do if you wanted to go swimming. The drinks for all inclusive do not include the beach tiki bar. So you need to walk back to the pool bar. They are not fully staff but the staff they do have, are pleasant. There is no toilet seat in the women’s bathroom by the pool. Our shower didn’t have warm water. The dining service is slow but the food is good/ok. Do not book any excursions through the hotel or transportation. The hotel is not fast to respond to questions nor are they helpful when there are issues. Just book your excursions through the companies. There is insufficient lighting in the bedrooms, if you plan to read. The rooftop bar is cool but closes at 8. The pools are chilly. If you want warm, check out their above ground jacuzzis. But if you want to have bubbles, they need to turn them on for you. The jacuzzis were ok but it was weird that they had these tubs of hot water just plunked down on the grass. lol.. our stay was fine but we are going to stay in the north beach area next time.

Everything was great however last 2 nights owners son stayed next room to us and him and friends were very very loud . We could not sleep . Reception was going to send security but nothing was corrected. Disrupting son got even louder throwing objects to our door. Nothing could be done due to owners sons stay . We even requested to move them but receptionist said they could not .

The property itself is beautiful. The room was lovely with nice features. However, there was no mention of how far it was from the ferry. We got to the island around 9:30om. We didn’t know how far the resort was. We saw no taxis but didn’t know we even needed one. We asked a local how far it was and he said a 13 minute walk. We set out at night trailing our luggage in fairly deserted bumpy streets and poor sidewalks. We finally hailed a taxi and it took quite a while to reach the resort. Not a good start. The food at the only restaurant was hit and miss. The waffles and pancakes were cold. The self-serve bacon was stuck together resembling a small football. Unable to order fried eggs although it was unclear if it was a language issue or the absence of real eggs. Staff was very friendly throughout the resort. Upon your arrival, be ready for the twenty minute review of the many rules in place, including an inspection done prior to checkout.

I loved just about everything about Hotel Belo. It's an intimate setting, a smaller boutique hotel with class. Not a party spot, thank goodness. Every morning I woke up to a beautiful, peaceful room, walked out to the pool, and looked out on to the sea. All of the staff was very friendly. The food was excellent. The location is a bit off the beaten path, which only adds to the charm. Don't listen to the few complainers. Be respectful of the property and the staff and you can't go wrong with this place! Truly a wonderful experience!

We got a room upgraded! The view was amazing! The staff was friendly. It was calm, it felt like a getaway. The hot tubs didn’t work, my only complaint. It was almost perfect! The food was good.

Gorgeous view, pools were great, but the construction tape, sand bags and slow service were very detracting from the experience. Food was good, but the drinks took forever. They were delicious, but took forever. The music speakers were broken upstairs, construction zones took away from the aesthetic. I appreciated the cab services and bikes and golf carts. The housekeeping was appreciated.
