The resort is very clean, and the staff are super friendly! They are constantly walking around the beach and pools offering you drinks which is very nice. One issue is that it is very hard to break down bills here, which I never had issues with at other all inclusive resorts. When you ask front desk reception or even the exchange office in the lobby, they say they don’t have smaller bills. It wasn’t until the last day that one of the bartenders was able to break our larger bills. This is something avoidable if you bring lots of change for tips so I figured I would mention that!
The rooms were very spacious, and the resort staff come twice a day to tidy up. However, the food offered for room service is terrible. There are very limited selections of basic sandwiches served cold. They usually arrive within 40 mins of you ordering which is okay.
The a la carte restaurants are okay. The wait times are minimum 1 hour if you show up anytime after 6:30pm, and almost always extends to 1.5 hrs. We tried several times and this was always the case. The steakhouse was by far the worst with over 2 hour wait time for the worst food I’ve tasted my entire stay. The Roma and Zarape are good. The Japanese restaurant had over a 2 hour wait by 7pm. Many people decided to just go to the buffet at night which always has availability and many different options! The buffet food was always good, even better than the a la carte restaurants.
Overall, I would stay here again, the beach is perfect!

This was the only resort where some staff members were really rude. One bigger set guy at the pool serving drinks was rude and not nice and another time was this lady. Other than that this hotel was great. Great stay.

I brought my two college kids to this resort. I chose this resort for more of a family vibe mixed with some adult activities. We had an absolute blast. Each night there was entertainment for the adults. During the day we hung out at the pool and beach (get your chairs early). The resort is beautiful and while it was large, you didn’t notice all the people as it was spread out. The food was so-so, but we weren’t there expecting 5 star meals. We were there for the overall experience. Drinks were great and the staff was awesome. I would definitely stay there again.

Beautiful property with plenty of food choices. Beach is nice. We were not able to get into the water the entire week due to strong wind and wave except for one day which was disappointing. But overall we had a great time. If you are looking for lots of things to do, then this resort might not be a good fit as it is relatively quiet around the neighborhood.

Loved the resort! Food was great drinks were awesome! There were lots of events for the family. My two daughters 10 and 12 enjoyed it a lot. Beach was very clean.

We Spent 7 days at Riu Costa Mujeres in Feb 2024. The hotel was spotless - the staff was ALWAYS friendly and helpful and the food was good. Yes - I would stay here again!

This is a wonderful property! You always saw employees cleaning different areas. Wait staff anticipated your every need. Food was good, with lots of selections to choose from! Sister hotel right next door!
