Hotel Villa Durrueli Resort & Spa

This hotel was the perfect hotel for our short trip to Ischia. Lorenzo was fabulous and make some great recommendations. We ate in a local restaurant at the hot out which was delicious. We then ate upstairs in the Aragonese restaurant and it was also very delicious. Make use of the spa if you can, it’s nice and relaxing. Also, the bed was so so comfortable and the pillows were great too!

What a fantastic place to stay. Th staff are outstanding, especially Sarah and Laura. They above and beyond to make us feel welcome. The food in the Argeonesse restaurant is beautiful. The chef is outstanding. We would highly recommend this hotel it's a gem. Smack bang in the middle of the port and the Argeonesse castle, which I may add is breath taking.

My wife and I stayed five nights at this excellent hotel. It is located between the port and castle and beside a nice wooded park frequented by joggers on a quiet street. Check in was fast and easy and our room was available early. Our junior suite was spacious with a patio, a shower (no tub) and a single sink with a decent amount of counter space. There was a large (maybe 10 feet) table on one wall that provided plenty of space for the incidentals while traveling. The pool area is beautiful, as is the lobby and breakfast area. Indeed, the breakfast was one of the best we’ve had in Europe, with plenty of free selections including eggs cooked to order. Our server on most days was Sara who was always smiling, friendly and helpful. Although she was a highlight and a true gem, all the staff went out of their way every day to make our say fantastic. The hotel may be ranked 4 stars, but the service is comparable to or better than any five star hotel we’ve visited.

I absolutely love this hotel. The staff were amazing, they can help you build an itinerary for the day. They have great suggestions on things to do on the island. They arranged for our rental car. The room was big with a lot of space. We had a terrace to sit out on. The breakfast was made to order. I had a fresh omelet with bacon and cheese, croissant and bowl of fresh fruit. There is a lot to choose from on the menu. The pool area was clean and they have shaded areas. There is a bar at the pool where you can order drinks or snacks. We also ate at the restaurant on the roof which provides you with a great view of the castle. The dinner at the restaurant was good. I would definitely recommend, if you like fine dinning. The restaurant is definitely on it's way to earning a Michelin star rating. Also, make sure to schedule some time in the spa, that was a very nice amenity to the hotel. The hotel is close to shopping, you can walk. This will definitely be a place I would stay on my next trip to Ischia.

We stayed at Hotel Villa Durrueli in July, and it was one of the most disappointing hotel experiences I’ve ever had, especially from a so-called four-star property with five-star feeling. While the rooms were clean and the pool area was pleasant, the stay was overshadowed by serious issues in safety and service. The most alarming incident: the shower door, which was not installed properly, in our room shattered on me, causing multiple cuts across my body and sending me to the hospital, where I incurred over €350 in medical costs. Shockingly, the hotel took no responsibility, offered no apology or compensation, and instead accused me of breaking the door on purpose. The manager, Filipo, verbally abused me, referred to me as a “little boy,” and even threatened to charge me for the broken door if I continued to raise the issue. Hotels should be required to use shatterproof safety glass in shower doors, this was a clear health and safety violation, and the hotel’s complete disregard for guest welfare was unacceptable. Additional problems included: • A €2/day charge for towels, which felt unreasonably petty for a 4-star hotel. • Housekeeping repeatedly threw away personal items, including unopened food and gym gear. • Our air conditioning failed during July heat, and we were only given a small fan, no offer to move us. While the hotel has great features it fails on basic safety, professionalism, and guest care. I cannot recommend it and strongly advise others to stay elsewhere.
