Hotel Villa Durrueli Resort & Spa

The accommodation excels in cleanliness, spacious rooms, and friendly staff. Guests appreciate the quality and variety of breakfast. However, no specific disadvantages were mentioned in the reviews.

We stayed at Hotel Villa Durrueli in July, and it was one of the most disappointing hotel experiences I’ve ever had, especially from a so-called four-star property with five-star feeling. While the rooms were clean and the pool area was pleasant, the stay was overshadowed by serious issues in safety and service. The most alarming incident: the shower door, which was not installed properly, in our room shattered on me, causing multiple cuts across my body and sending me to the hospital, where I incurred over €350 in medical costs. Shockingly, the hotel took no responsibility, offered no apology or compensation, and instead accused me of breaking the door on purpose. The manager, Filipo, verbally abused me, referred to me as a “little boy,” and even threatened to charge me for the broken door if I continued to raise the issue. Hotels should be required to use shatterproof safety glass in shower doors, this was a clear health and safety violation, and the hotel’s complete disregard for guest welfare was unacceptable. Additional problems included: • A €2/day charge for towels, which felt unreasonably petty for a 4-star hotel. • Housekeeping repeatedly threw away personal items, including unopened food and gym gear. • Our air conditioning failed during July heat, and we were only given a small fan, no offer to move us. While the hotel has great features it fails on basic safety, professionalism, and guest care. I cannot recommend it and strongly advise others to stay elsewhere.

We arrived by ferry and got a tuk tuk to the hotel. Lorenzo gave us a warm welcome. The hotel has its own app so worth downloading before your holiday. We had a triple room overlooking the park and with a large balcony so we had space not always available in other rooms. We didn’t have a kettle but asked for one and it was in our room almost immediately. It came with an Ischian adapter plug -3 prongs in a row-though there is a standard plug socket in the bathroom. The fridge got really cold -always handy. Breakfast is served a la carte which is a really nice touch though there is not a huge amount on the menu. Eggs and omelettes are freshly cooked to order. They have gluten free bread, crackers and even cornflakes. The pool was very large for the size of hotel and there were more than enough beds. Towels are available from the hotel at €2 a day or you can keep for the duration of your stay. There is a restaurant on the top floor that has fab views and we had a welcome Prosecco as well as 10% of the bill. We didn’t eat there but the food looked excellent. There is a free 45 minute spa available every day and the spa whilst small has steam rooms and pools. Laura is super helpful and will help organise anything, though all the staff are a credit to the hotel and special thanks to the cleaners who keep the place spotless. There is a supermarket that is just 5 minutes walk away plus loads of bars and restaurants in the old part of town. Lorenzo told us about the buses that go around the island and there is a bus 7 that goes to the bus station. Tickets from the local bar and an all day ticket is €5.10 Good WiFi throughout the hotel and the tv links to your phone for a Bluetooth speaker. All in all a lovely relaxing break in a beautiful part of the world
