We just returned from a 2 week trip around Italy and this was by far our favorite hotel in our entire trip. The grounds are beautiful. To be honest, I was a bit nervous after reading some negative reviews but was pleasantly surprised with how beautiful the hotel grounds are kept. Check-in was pleasant, though a bit slow. I was nervous I was going to fall asleep on her! The front desk agent was lovely in going over all the amenities and resort offerings. Having flown all the way from Seattle, I just wanted to get to my room, shower and have some dinner. All of the restaurants on property require reservations, in exception of the buffet. We attempted to make reservations at all 4 of them, but they were fully committed for the evening. If their concierge can email guest prior to arrival and advise of that policy, I think it could save guests a lot of headaches and empty stomachs. Thankfully, we ordered room service, which served the same pizza from their pizzeria. My family had 3 rooms booked and we're all titanium so we all had breakfast included. Their breakfast buffet was probably the most impressive breakfast buffet I've experienced. I went through what I thought was the entire buffet, only to realize it was just half of it. Having extremely picky kids, the buffet proved to be a success. You must try their pistachio cannolis. The best I've ever had. All their pools are gorgeous. I do wish they stayed open past 7pm though. It didn't make sense they closed while the sun was still out. The hotel also doesn't have a convenience store so we had to drive into town to find large waters for our family and wine ;) I think adding a wine opener in the rooms would also make sense as we're in Italy. Would save us the hassle of having to stop by the front desk to have them open our bottle of wine so we could enjoy it on our patios. Lime Bar had strong, great drinks and prompt service. Our server did forget two meals but their manager (on a temporary assignment from Ritz Carlton Tenerife) was so pleasant and personal, we didn't mind. The manager would make his way around tables to check up on how things were going. We lost track of time chatting with him, by the time we realized we were missing two meals, everyone else had finished eating. If they could provide pool service, I believe that would also elevate the property. Out of all the hotels we stayed at in Europe, this hotel by far had the strongest AC. We've stayed at Ritz Carlton Berlin and St Regis Rome in the past, yet their AC does not compare to Mangia's. The only complaints I have were minor. Two out of three of our rooms had a moderate ant problem. The cracks under the door were wide enough for these large ants to make their way into our room. Thankfully, they're just ants so it was just a nuisance. Apparently Mangia's has a bunch of resorts in Sicily. Keeping my fingers crossed Marriott brings the rest of them onto the Marriott portfolio as we all truly loved our stay at Mangia's Brucoli!!!
