Irvine Bay

Travelled with another couple for a 2night stay in Irvine and we had 2 out of the 3 available cottage rooms. Great accommodation with easy parking and access. Sits at the back of a house with rooms to let from the same host. Lovely, recently refurbed accommodation with a great small sitting area outside each of the rooms. Rooms have a fridge or wine fridge for keeping drinks cool which is a great addition. Bathroom has a roomy shower - which had good pressure. The only issue to raise was that this is the accommodation that you can hire if you have pets - which we didn't have a problem with - but a previous stay's pet had obviously pee'd in the accommodation because the smell was overpowering when we opened the room. Having said that we contacted the host and within minutes someone arrived to try to remedy the situation and the cleaners did an extra clean the next morning but the carpet is obviously needing a full clean. This would not stop us booking the accommodation with this host again because he obviously tries to respond when issues are raised.

One of the best over night stays we have had. Great location, easy parking and easy to gain access. Room was lovely and we had everything we needed. Great Value for money and loved the outside space as well. Bed extremely comfortable and the shower was amazing!

My second stay here, wonderful size, lovely furnishings, a table to eat food and a fridge, hot shower and just a short walk to the harbour, ideal for gigs at Harbour Arts and to visit the Maritime museum nearby, hopefully I can stay again soon!!

Well what a hidden gem! We stayed here as my partner had stayed here on a work trip and was wowed. The self contained studio ( Number 3) was tucked up a side street just off the harbour behind the bed & breakfast. It had a key safe so totally contactless. On entering the studio the decor is so well done lovely muted colours and a high ceiling make this feel very spacious. There was a tv on the wall which has freebies channels. Also a mini fridge, a mini ironing board with a full sized iron and a hair dryer. A little table and chairs was also in the room along with bedside shelves which had lamps conveniently placed above them and also electric sockets. There was good lighting besides the lamps and to shut the daylight away the window had shutters rather than boring curtains. The bathroom was spacious with a large shower. Towels were provided and plenty of toilet roll. There wasn’t any shower gel or shampoo but hand wash was was provided. The bathroom also has a skylight which flooded the room with daylight. An extra lovely touch to go with the tea and coffee also provided was the biscuits and tunnocks caramel bar. The studios were ideally placed near the harbour and only a minute or two away from from a variety of pubs, cafe and restaurant. The beautiful beach was about a 5 minute walk away The value for money is second to none. The studio was clean and in such a good spot. I wish we could of stayed a lot longer!
