Horrendous place. No sound proofing and the room was above the where the band played until 11.45pm. Toilet stank. Coffee cheap sachets expecting you to pay extra for filter Coffee. When I complained the attitude was indifferent. Breakfast mediocre at best.

The online photos of the room didn't match the actual room at all. We were supposedly staying in a Superior room, but I'm not sure what was superior about it. Don't stay on a Saturday night when the pub has live music, unless you want to go and enjoy the entertainment as the rooms are directly above and it is next to impossible to get any sleep till the music has finished. Added to this, the toilet kept flushing and wouldn't stop and the heated towel rail made gurgling noises all night. However, the bed itself was very comfortable and the breakfast (which was £10 extra per person) was perfectly reasonable. Overall though, go and find somewhere else.

This review is about the hotel Well it was cheap £75 +£10 each for breakfast. Basically it was a nightmare. A band played below us so loudly I vibrated. This went on until 11.30but voices for another 45 mins. The cistern was broken. The breakfast was OK for the money but instant coffee satchets were accompanied by sauce bottles which had drips down the side. The whole place needed a good clean. Cant wait to get home for a sleep. Avoid and pay a little more

We stayed at the malt house last night We stayed here a year ago in the sister hotel the Swan The malt house was such a disappointment We had A meal on the restaurant which was so cold we had to keep our coats on . The food was ok but nothing like it was last year . We went to our room and we were right above the stage area below where the loudest pub. Rock band were playing until midnight . The room was literally shaking and we both had no sleep and headaches from the loud noise No warning of this when we checked in . The door on the bathroom was off its hinges and. No mirror in bathroom Dressing table but too dark to apply makeup at Very poor Do not book to stay here if you want a peaceful warm enjoyable evening and nights stay The young staff not really bothered and no refund offered or any compensation The rooms should not be availiable when a band is playing . Not acceptable I’m a musician and used to noise but this was just unacceptable

Absolutely awful the music is soooooo loud they bring their own speakers and seem to have it as loud as they want! So if you need sleep don’t come here, young staff lovely but I think they are just used to all the complaints Avoid!! Much nicer placers nearby next door is owned by same person, it is a disco not a hotel

Nice food in the restaurant and staff were lovely however our room was awful. Damp, smelly, mouldy, dirty, neglected repairs. Only saving grace was the clean bed sheets. Wouldn’t stay there again and would suggest avoiding staying in their ‘annexe’ building to the main part of the site.

We came here for Sunday lunch with some family friends, we were a table of 3. Service was awful, Luke warm food and waitresses treated us like an inconvenience. Waitress dropped knife of baby’s head, cutting it and no apology. Review sent to their website but only good reviews are filtered.

Stayed at the malthouse property next door to the pub and the room we booked was a superior double en-suite , please dont anyone book this room its disgusting . The restaurant had friendly and pleasent staff on dinner service but we had breakfast this morning and the young girl was only interested in the chef , the water for tea and coffee was luke warm and had to be asked for fresh hot water , no bowls or teaspoons for tea or coffee or cereal , very poor service compared to the evening service. Hot food in the morning 100% breakfast ciabate & full english spot on , dinner last night 100% and compliments to kitchen staff . Now back to accomodation we were in chocolate room , smelt like a dirty hoove rand damp and mould everywhere , shouldnt really be let out until damp and mould sorted iam not the only one to leave same review about room ' do not book . Sorry malthouse but your room let you down miserabley i even had to clean cobwegs from the bedroom wall and a simple bottle of bleach wouldnt hurt and the sink plug hole is grim and even had to clean extractor fan from bathroom ergh . And surprised the ceiling hasnt come through from the leak above

AVOID. I was attacked in this bar and the bouncers were about as useful as a chocolate tea pot. If you do insist on visiting this hovel for food the only thing worth getting is the chateau briand, which they never have in. Go to the White Heart for food instead.
