Evolução Ecolodge

We stayed here for 4 nights 5 days for our first trip to the amazon jungle PROs - Staff communicates very well over WhatsApp and is very responsive and answers question. I was a bit nervous about it at first, because they had problems accepting pre-payment over the internet so had agreed to pay in person. They showed up right on time and picked us up at the hotel in Manaus and took us to the lodge. The driver (Lucas) was super friendly and very accommodating. The airline had lost our luggage and he was kind enough to stop at a supermarket on the way so we could get some basic clothes and toiletries that we needed. - Food is delicious and the cook staff was very accommodating e.g. they made beans for us specifically without meat upon our request, and went out of their way to ensure there were plenty of vegetarian options - Very relaxed setting in the middle of the jungle, hotel has all basic amenities including a small store onsite - Activities are very well planned, one or 2 in the morning and one in the afternoon - Activities are all valuable and memorable although make sure you clearly communicate what is included and not ahead of time (see below) - Rooms all have AC and hot water shower facilities that worked well - Highly recommended the swimming with the dolphins activity AREAS TO IMPROVE - Clear up front communication - perhaps even upon check-in of day by day activities with what is included in the package and what is not. We were surprised to learn at checkout that the visit to the native tribe was NOT included and we were charged extra. We informed them we were never told about it ahead of time and were totally surprised and they did take it off our bill, but it would have prevented an awkward conversation if they had discussed all extra costs up front. - I know it’s an ecolodge, but would be good if they could have pool onsite to pass the time between activities
