Great location with easy walk into city centre.
Quiet at night.
Situated right on the River Ness with fabulous views of the river from our room.
Lovely building with lots of original features such as high ceilings, sash windows and wood panelling.
Rooms cleaned and beds made every day.
Lift at hotel.
Nice bar with friendly staff.
Helpful reception team.
Luggage storage given on day of departure.
Twin bedded room allocated which we requested.
Well worth the price and much nicer than modern generic hotels locally.
Will definitely stay here again
Maybe it's in a tourist area, the price/performance ratio is average because of the supply and demand relationship. The English breakfast in the hotel in the morning is very stylish.
This hotel is highly recommended. It is difficult to find on a hike, but there will be surprises to find. It is very suitable for people who often live in big cities and look for village towns. Opposite the bar is Loch Ness. I will definitely go again if I have a chance. I highly recommend it again ! ! !

There is a free parking lot within the intermittent white line on the side of the road at the entrance, and there is a large supermarket on the opposite side of the road with a kitchen, which is very convenient.
Hotel is great and the stay was comfortable. It's quite convenient to walk to the bus station as well at the train station. The room is clean however the toilet shower doesn't has a door and the water slashes out causing whole toilet to become wet after shower. The hotel do provide bottled water in room and has a restaurant on the ground floor. The staffs are friendly and overall stay experience was amazing.
The facilities are very good, but if it is Friday and Saturday, you need to take a break from the nearby bar, there are people who revel in the night, and people who are more sensitive to noise are not friendly.
The beauty cannot be expressed in words. When I drive into the manor, the road is lined with lush trees and the road is long. As I move forward, I see a beautiful old castle with a sense of history. The flowers in front of the door are in full bloom and the lobby lounge is warmly lit. It feels like I am home. The handsome Scottish boy at the front desk was warm and humorous. We were lucky and got a super large and super beautiful room. The window was facing the sea and could not be seen at a glance. Beautiful furniture, soft bed, no dreams!

Very Good
AAlyseFirst let me say that the owners were incredibly kind and accommodating. It pains me that to even write this but I thought fellow travelers should hear my experience. First, there are two aye stays in Inverness. My gps took me to the wrong one first. That was awkward. After I finally figured it out, the place was very cutely decorated with Scottish and Loch Ness decor. Contactless check in was easy however a board with everyone’s name and room numbers does not feel super safe for me a solo female traveler. But over all easy enough. Next I stayed in room 7 which is up a flight of stairs so make sure you pack light! (Which you should do anyway in Scotland.) My room had just been renovated with new carpet but it smelled like off gassing and I had to open the window (which was broken) there was a radiator for heat which I had no idea how to use. So it got a little chilly. Now here comes the problems: the rooms are very close together and the walls are paper thin. I was kept up until 3 in the morning hearing conversations and snoring. We were only given the choice of receiving breakfast between 7:30-8:30 in the dining room. So I woke up earlier than I would have liked to eat breakfast. Which was just okay. Nothing too outstanding to write about but again the hostess was very sweet. Overall I could see that they’re trying their best. But I would recommend sound machines in each of the rooms or something so people can have a good nights sleep. The location was pretty good and just over the bridge from the high street.
GGuest UserThis hotel is very good in other aspects. It is considered very good in the small town of Inverness. The only thing is that the charges are a bit chaotic. They overcharged us twice. The first time: we were charged 23 pounds more for dining in the hotel restaurant (see the picture bill). The waiter refused to admit it at first, but later he took it back with the help of a friend. The second time: when we checked out, they said it was no problem, but the next day, 5 pounds were deducted without a card. We communicated through Ctrip, and they replied that we had access to the hotel's high-speed network. Ctrip asked if we brought a laptop? We are all retired and don't carry heavy computers. The hotel's Wify is free. Later, Ctrip gave us 50 RMB in compensation. Ctrip is still very responsible. In short, friends who go to this hotel need to pay more attention when spending.
GGuest UserExcellent hostel! Great common self-catering facilities; there were two full kitchens with plenty of tables and seating so multiple parties could be cooking at a time. Staff were very helpful and let me leave my bag before check-in and after check-out to accommodate my bus times.
The room (4-bunk female dorm) was very spacious so plenty of room for sorting through my bags. Bunk was large and included a USB plug and power outlet there. Room had large attached shower and toilet rooms.
GGuest UserEvening event dinner was at best poor. Starter which should have been hot was cold, main course just warm, the desert had run out by the time our table was served.
The hotel toilets were in need of an attendant checking regularly .
We ended up laughing about it with references to faulty towers.
However our room was beautiful, clean, well presented, the bed was very comfortable. We had a great night sleep.
At breckfast the arm of my chair was loose and lifted up when I would go to move my chair in/out from the table. When I was looking around the continental breckfast counter I could hear a male member of the kitchen staff shouting and swearing using the F word, not at all what I expected from any Hotel.
Lasting impression I would not rush back.
KkellandjDo NOT accept a room facing union street ie main entrance. There are nightclubs and fast food places. The noise until 0300 is unbelievable. Especially friday and saturday. Go riverside ONLY
GGuest UserInverness has become silly in terms of hotel prices. HI Express is reasonably priced, breakfast is included and it's now my main choice for the Highland capital. Staff welcoming and helpful. Good breakfast choice.
On this occasion, my only negative comment was that the heating wasn't working in our ground floor room. There was a convector heater in the room but this wasn't ideal to maintain a good temperature.
GGuest UserGood hotel but, for their regular double room, over priced. The Glen Mhor is basically a collection of former B&B establishments which have been taken over and redeveloped. This means that the majority of rooms are in neighbouring buildings so a bit of a walk is involved! I have stayed here before and each time found myself in a small double room. They are clean, well decorated and fine for an overnight stay. On the downside, they tend to be so small that there is no room for a chair or workspace. This time around we opted for the breakfast package. The restaurant was right at the opposite end of the complex but the walk along to it was pleasant. The breakfast itself was excellent. Staff were incredibly attentive and the range of food on offer was very good.
Would I stay again? That would depend on the package on offer. I wouldn't opt for a 'room only' given the small size - there are plenty Premier Inns around which, to be fair, are of an equal, if not higher standard to the standard double rooms at Glen Mhor. Location is excellent for the city centre and depending when you travel, there is plenty parking available.
CCatrynLots to love but room for a few improvements.
The biggest is the doors on the rooms. They are heavy wooden doors and slam really loud. As you can imagine that’s quite annoying when people go in and out waking people up
Bathroom door rotten at bottom from damp, needs replaced, looks awful.
Cleaning under sinks and taps in bathrooms, the things you see when you sit in the bath!!
Painting of the room could be a bit tidier, white paint all over grey radiator pipes.
Cleaners could be a bit more gentler when hoovering, they batter the radiator pipes in the rooms and it vibrates to the room your in , next door!
Out of stock of some flavours for cocktails, young staff seen with mobile phones very casually. Move out of sight, the customer / service are important
Food is expensive for the quality you get too
GGuest UserAlways enjoy our stays at The Royal Highland Hotel it’s excellent position always gives us a great base to get out and about, very nice room, and friendly staff make the stay even better
朱朱Hostel hotel. Very quiet nearby. Walk 15 minutes to the downtown area. There is a parking lot. Breakfast is to be done by yourself and the hotel supplies all materials and equipment. Overall feels good
