Colonial on Tay

I arrived late from a long drive. There was no fuss with checking in, instantly felt relaxed inside my accommodation, nice spacious rooms, main area with the sofa and a single bed, dining table and full kitchen area, looked to be brand new oven with lots of pots, pans and anything else you needed. Main bedroom was cozy, the bed was slightly too big for the room layout but with only myself being there it was perfect. Separate toilet to shower, water pressure fantastic for showers. Cleaners in everyday apart from weekends, place looks perfect everytime you walk in. I stayed with them for 2 weeks and couldn't of asked for a better place to stay. Thank you for making me feel welcomed and I will definitely be back! HIGHLY RECOMMEND this motel.

This would be the worst motel we have ever stayed in. Booked out family into 2 rooms for the week. Was told we would have a stove ended up getting a tiny hot plate with a bench so small you could never cook in the room anyway. Rooms are very small, beds are uncomfortable ended up spending half the week sleeping on the couch. The rooms are in no way serviced. Beds not made for you or changed all week. Only allowed one towel per person even when we asked for an extra. Told we could have an old one but that was it. Bedrooms were cold due to there only being a heater in the lounge. Bad lighting in rooms. Basic TV channels. Several things broken in the room. Unfortunately there was a large event on in Invercargill which meant all accomodation was full for the week, otherwise we would have moved to a new motel on the first day.

Repeat visit and the property goes from strength to strength Denise and Roger make you feel so welcome and cannot do enough for you They are quietly redecorating units to make stays even more pleasant. Location great and place is not on the boy racers usual circuits so sleep is possible

Once again I had the most fantastic experience staying at this motel. I was given a room upgrade. Amazing space. Fully kitted out kitchen. A great Night n' Day stored 100m down the road. Due to it being summer it was very light in the evening. Thankfully the unit was fitted with love think good quality black out curtains. Can not recommend this place enough. Will definitely be back.

I have just returned from a month working in Invercargill and stayed at the colonial on Tay in a 1 bedroom unit. Denise and Roger were fantastic hosts, from the early check in to picking me up from the airport once I returned my hire car. Nothing was too much trouble. The rooms were immaculately clean, tidy and always smelt very nice, which was a credit to yourselves and the cleaning staff, The cooking facilities were everything I needed, full stove and oven, decent size fridge and plenty of cookware and cupboard space. The beds and pillows were very comfortable and the added bonus of a full laundry on site. Very close to the centre of town, restaurants and attractions, with a 24hr day night just on the corner 100m away. I will definitely stay there again if I’m back in Invercargill and would not hesitate to recommend this accommodation to anyone. Thanks again for a wonderful stay.
