In summer, take the short walk down to the beach and enjoy Granliden's complimentary kayaks, paddle boards, canoe or just take a long swim by the shore. In winter, take a quick 10 minute ride to Mt. Sunapee or 45 minutes to Okemo for a great ski vacation. People first took up golf clubs at Granliden and played a few informal holes around the original summer boarding house. In the early part of the 20th century Alex Findley was hired to design a 9 hole layout for the new Granliden Hotel. In the nineteen-twenties, the course was redesigned by renowned golf course architect Walter Travis.Granliden is home to two true clay courts, and two Nova Pro-Clay courts that have the feel and play of clay courts but are less affected by the weather and are playable almost immediately after a rain. The Nova Pro-Clay courts are also illuminated for play after dark!The swimming pool is located adjacent to the Nova Pro-Clay tennis courts. The pool measures 30 feet wide by 60 feet long, is heated, and open during the summer season.
