Courtyard Fukui is my favourite hotel in my trip across Chubu region. The location is fantastic; it is just a small street across he Fukui Station where you will find a few dinosaurs with animatronics. No lack of food and souvenir options around. It’s a new hotel and lots of modern amenities. The twin beds are big and comfortable. The hotel and FUKUMACHI BLOCK, a mall of sorts are linked. You park at FUKUMACHI BLOCK which costs JPY2000 for 24 hours. Marriot Bonvoy members get a discounted rate for JPY1500 (you validate and pay at the hotel reception).

It is only a 45-second walk from the station, and it is very convenient to get around Fukui Station. The accommodation facilities are a bit old, but the breakfast can soothe the tiredness of the journey, and the curry is delicious and in short supply.

My husband and I stayed here for one night. The hotel is a little far from the station, more than 15 minutes on foot, but there is an izakaya about 5 minutes walk away, so we had no trouble finding something to eat. You can also walk to a power spot shrine in about 20 minutes. You can also use the 100 yen bus, which is convenient for sightseeing.
The large mirror right after entering the room makes the space look spacious, but I kept bumping into it, which bothered me a little. Also, the step to the toilet was a little high, which was a bit worrying. I think it would be even more comfortable if these were improved.
The large bath was spacious, and I was happy to be able to stretch my legs and relax in it. The bath seemed to be made of ionized water, and regardless of its effectiveness, it made me feel good (lol). Overall, it was a good hotel.

The hotel is very thoughtful, giving out small pleasures for the hotel guests, example free ice cream or yakult, and even late night supper. Free use of washer but you need to pay for the dryer, a nominal sum 100yen for 20 min dry time, very reasonable.

A cosy hotel with really friendly and helpful hotel staff. Room was a little small compared to what we have been used to. But the helpfulness and friendliness of the Hotel staff made up for everything. Air conditioning on the first night was a little hot (we went to Fukui in the summer time), but was OK on the 2nd night. You can choose your own pillow and amenities (shampoo, conditioner, bath salts, cotton buds, sewing kit etc) from the 5th floor - so funny! But reception is on the 5th floor (not the 1st). The hotel thoughtfully provided a laundry drying rack so you can dry laundry in the room. The shampoo, conditioner and body foam (made with Royal Jelly) made my hair really soft and manageable! Very convenient to drive to Tojinbo Cliffs too!

Very close to the railway station and within walking distance to the historical city center.
Check-in and check-out are done through the terminal independently, but there is an employee who can help if necessary.
What was not very convenient was the rare cleaning of the room, but daily change of towels.
Also, the day before check-in, I tried to contact the hotel by mail, but their mailbox was full, and through the bot on the site it did not work. The issue remained unresolved.

I stayed here for a live tour. There were no good value hotels available on Saturday, but today a room became available for about 7,000 yen, so I made a reservation. I was a little worried about whether it would be okay because it was cheap at about 7,000 yen, but it was fine. The building is old, as other people have said. I read reviews saying the walls were thin, but they were really so thin that I could hear the voices of the people next door and what they were saying, so I asked them to change my room. It was quiet there, so I was able to sleep. They seem to value eco-friendliness, and I think it's good that they didn't have anything unnecessary. They changed my room, so I'll give the service a 4/5.

AAnonymous UserThe Japanese-style room has three floors and no elevator. It is booked overseas nearly a month in advance. The store actually arranged to live on the third floor! The waiter helped to carry the suitcase upstairs. He was tired enough. The service three stars were given to him. Check out and climb the box.
The room is not big, public toilets, public bathrooms, many years have not lived in rooms without separate toilets, bathroom baths must be reserved in advance, can be washed for half an hour. Sound insulation is not good, affecting sleep.
Nearly 20,000 yen per night on weekends, I feel like I have been a big head, the facilities are old, fortunately it is still clean, maybe it is a cultural difference, it is indeed a different experience.

The biggest advantage is the scenery, next to the moat, facing the castle, especially quiet.
From the west exit of Fukui Station, you can cross Fukui City (the location of Fukui County Hall), and come out of the hotel, saving at least half the distance.
