"I had a wonderful stay at this hotel! The location is excellent—just right outside Zhonglou Metro Station, making it super convenient to get around Xi’an. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, providing plenty of room to relax. The service was great, with friendly and attentive staff. They also offer a complimentary breakfast, which was a nice bonus. One of the highlights is the view of the Bell Tower, which you can see immediately after stepping out of the hotel. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel if you’re visiting Xi’an!"

"We had a wonderful time at the Old Locust Homestay. You can tell the owner really cares about his guests. During our stay there was some work being done in the road out front and the owner made sure to help us with our bags coming in and when we left and also offered a complementary room upgrade along with complementary imported coffee and gave us some local treats as a condolence for the issue. He always went out of his way to make sure we had a great experience. The hotel is newly renovated, very stylist and has great views from the third and fourth floors. We would definitely come back if we are ever in Xi’an again."

"The hotel has everything you’d ask for. Definitely the best 4 star hotel at this price range. Very central location. Walking distance to the Clock Tower and the pedestrian streets for food and souvenir shops. Very close to the metro station. Very bathroom design. Shower is one of the bests. Spacious room. Customer service is exceptional. You can communicate with front desk via WeChat. There’s a robot to deliver what you need at night. Offers bottled water for free. There’s a gym and laundry room with free detergent and softener, which are both open for 24 hours. Would highly recommend it to anyone travelling to Xi’an, especially for the first time."

"Love the location of this hotel. Just one step away is the SkyTrain station It makes easy access to other attractions . Walk across is the Bell tower and shopping mall. Some rooms can even see the Bell Tower from the window. I have requested a room with a view of the Tower, but they upgraded me to a room with a balcony. Which is a bit disappointed but still ok I have a balcony. The hotel is beautiful and clean. At least I didn't smell the cigarettes. The receptionist is very helpful, a lady from the travel agency is always there to answer the tourists about Xian attractions. The water bottle is free and they put it right by the elevator on each floor. The breakfast is ok and the restaurant is big. I highly recommend this hotel. I really like the location and all the declarations of the hotel. If I come back to Xian, I will definitely stay in this hotel again."

"What a wonderful, hospitable owner. The owner was extremely thoughtful and took really good care of all his guests. He took extra effort to prepare an early breakfast for a European family who wanted to leave early for the terracotta museum and helped them rebook the taxi when he observed that the allocated vehicle was too small for the family of 4. I enjoyed having conversations with the owner, covering anything under the sun helping to break the monotony of solo travel. The place is located in a quieter area, but surrounded by the traditional Chinese food stalls, local market, chic restaurants and bars and trendy cafes and bakeries. Clean and tidy, the big living room on the ground floor to relax or for some, a spot to some work."

"The hotel is newly renovated, nicely decorated with good artistic tastes and well located. The rooms are clean and cozy, with modern electronic equipment. There are free washing machines and dryers available, and, a gym too.
Next to the reception, there is a bar and a dining area. Everything is impeccable.
What's make this hotel different is their exceptional service.
The front desk staff are very caring and attentive. They are accommodating and always willing to help. During our 6 nights stay, they helped us with all our requests and questions.
When you are in a 5-star international hotel, the doorman would find a taxi for you.
There is no doorman at this hotel, but, the staff went all the way to help us in a heavy rain.
In Xi'an, with such a rain, it's difficult to get a car service, and, impossible to find one for a short distance.
Two staff used their own accounts to try to reserve car a for us. And, when it failed, they grabbed umbrellas and our luggage, and accompanied us to the nearest bus stop. They waited with us in the rain until the bus arrived. One told the driver to tell us where to get off. He made sure that we would be able to pay the bus fare, and, was willing to pay for us.
We went to different countries, we have stayed in 5-stars international hotels before, we never had such sincere, spontaneous help.
It's the best hotel in Xi'an.

"The place was really clean and nice. It had a really nice air conditioning unit with very comfortable beds. It was very quiet at night with a great location inside the walls. The service was really friendly and the cleaning lady even helped us put our clothes in a bag after laundry when we were out. My only complaint is that the swing is really loud and a little boy would always swing at 9:00AM."

"The service at this hotel was truly exceptional. My young nephew even remarked that he hasn't experienced this level of service even at five-star hotels. Our family particularly loved the Roujiamo (Chinese hamburger) for breakfast; we honestly thought they tasted better than many 'authentic' ones you find outside. We also enjoyed the drinks in the lobby and made it a point to grab one every time before heading out. We tried the late-night snacks once, and they were quite good. The airport pick-up service was fantastic too; the driver was very proactive and helped us with our luggage right away."

"The hotel reception and communal areas were very clean, but the corridor leading to the rooms looked dirty and lacked air conditioning, which made it uncomfortable. The room also didn’t match the pictures shown on Trip.com, which was a huge disappointment at first. However, the staff later improved the situation by replacing a dirty cushion, and the reception staff’s service was truly outstanding. My only criticism is the overall quality of the room."

TTinaMThis is a lovely hotel with kind, welcoming staff. I read some reviews saying the rooms are very old etc, but I don't see how that makes this hotel any less great - the rooms are still clean and well maintained. I arrived in Xi'an after 48 hours of hectic traveling due to a missed train, and the staff at Meihao Hotel were very welcoming, were happy to use translation apps to communicate with me. The room was large, with a view of the neighbourhood outside (mostly just traffic jams haha, but that's Xi'an). The location may not be super ideal for some as it isn't in the city centre, but honestly it was no inconvenience at all, as the nearest subway station is a brisk walk away -- about 5-7 minutes. If you're arriving by train and carrying a lot of heavy luggage, then yes, coming via subway might be a bit of a challenge (but not impossible!)
The housekeeping staff especially were very warm and kind. Thank you for always brightening my day when I walked by you all.
A few hours after I checked in, a lovely staff member knocked on my door and offered me a small bowl of soup. I was very confused as I hadn't ordered anything, but upon seeing other guests were receiving this too, I gladly accepted. It was such an unexpected, kind gesture -- this hotel truly knows how to make one feel welcome.
I fell ill on the second day of my stay, and thankfully the room was so comfortable, I could recuperate well. My only complaint is that the bedsheets, comforter, pillowcases etc -- all the bedding essentially smells of cigarette smoke. I could also smell cigarette smoke from beyond my room's door at night. This was despite there being a clear sign in the room saying smoking was not allowed inside. Though this is certainly not something you can fault hotel staff for (if guests are adamant to smoke inside, what can housekeeping possibly do?), I just thought I would mention this for any other guests who might be very sensitive to the smell, perhaps you could request staff to rewash the bedding until the smoke smell is entirely gone.
After checking out, I also noticed there were some freebies that were part of my booking that I unfortunately missed out on :( There was meant to be welcome fruit, afternoon tea for two and a midnight snack, which I would have loved to try. There was no welcome fruit offered, but I did receive some refreshing juice when I arrived to check in -- it was a hot day and I was grateful for the welcome drink. For the other stuff, as I didn't realise it was part of the booking perks, I never asked, and consequently seem to have missed out.
I also want to say that aside from the rooms, the lobby area is quite lovely -- very tastefully decorated, peaceful, and I even saw they had some free coffee out for guests! I only noticed this when I was checking out though, and my taxi was already on the way to pick me up, so I could not indulge. Maybe it would be helpful if the reception staff could share all this info with guests when they check in, especially with the foreign guests who are already a bit confused and trying to get their bearings ^-^ Just a suggestion! Thank you for a nice stay. I will definitely be back again soon.

The only fall back for me is that it's not close to subway station of either line 4 or line 5 - it will unbearable to walk 12-15 mins under the burning sun in the summer between 10am and 4pm. but if you take Didi all the time then it's fine.

AAnonymous UserThe hotel boasts a convenient location, perfect for exploring. The front desk service was consistently excellent, and I found the down pillows in the room incredibly comfortable. Being so close to a subway station made getting to the Big Wild Goose Pagoda a breeze. Overall, the hotel offers fantastic value for money, and I highly recommend it. A lovely touch was the small bear plushie I received from the front desk, and complimentary mung bean soup was offered in the evenings. The screen mirroring feature in the room was also very convenient, and any requests were handled with impressive speed.

AAnonymous UserThe hotel facilities are very new, and the rooms are quite spacious. Its location near Datang Everbright City and Joy City is a definite plus. However, being right at the entrance of a major scenic area and on a one-way street makes getting around a bit inconvenient, especially in the evenings. This is something for other travelers to keep in mind.
Despite the bustling location, the hotel itself was quiet, and I had a good rest. The only real downside was the breakfast, which had a very limited selection.
What's more, for some reason, even the restaurant staff during breakfast were asking us for positive reviews. If this is for staff evaluation, the hotel should really consider guest privacy and approach guests at appropriate times without being intrusive. Plus, the breakfast staff generally don't have direct interactions with guests beyond serving food, so it felt quite abrupt and out of place.
On a positive note, both the front desk and housekeeping services were excellent.

GGuest UserThe location is incredibly convenient! Right outside Exit B of Longshouyuan Station on Metro Line 2, you'll find the hotel. This was a lifesaver for someone like me who easily gets lost! It's quick and easy to get to the Bell Tower, Muslim Quarter, and the high-speed train station.
The hotel definitely has a classic, 'old-money' charm. Initially, I thought the facilities might be a bit dated, but they are actually very well-maintained. Overall, the service was truly commendable. As soon as you approach the hotel, staff are there to help with your luggage, and the front desk handled things very smoothly. What truly impressed me was the exceptional daily housekeeping. Whether we were in the room or not, they would consistently come to replace disposable amenities and towels, and tidy up.
Another highlight for me was the heated swimming pool. We brought our child on this trip, and they went there every single day! Even though it was a bit chilly these past few days, the heated pool meant it didn't affect our enjoyment at all.

MMissBee2023Really great hotel, excellent location right next to the Bell Tower. Amazing service: staff were extremely helpful, and used translation apps when their English failed them, so language wasn’t an issue. We got waters, a fruit plate and bookmarks on check out, and the staff were helpful in our other enquiries. We were able to check in early, and they offered help with the Terra-cotta warriors also.
It didn’t show up on Apple Maps for us - however we entered the address from Trip and that led us and the taxi there! There is another “Grand Mercure” about a 30minute walk away, so worth noting that when you type Mercure into maps it goes to that. But the location is amazing- close to the main central junction with the Bell Tower, 5 minutes from the Muslim Quarter, and various takeaways/bakeries/convenience stores right underneath the hotel.
We definitely recommend!

CChao ChaoMThe hotel is very conveniently located, and the two subway entrances are not far away, and can be reached in about 5 minutes on foot. The snack street in the alley opposite is also very good. There is also a Yonghui supermarket and a shopping mall next to it, which is convenient for shopping.
The only drawback is that I booked a double bed room, and then when I arrived at the hotel, the front desk said that the double bed room was not available because we arrived late, so I gave a twin bed room. I don’t understand why the booked room was not kept, but it doesn’t matter.
The breakfast is acceptable, the watermelon is delicious, and there are a few bread and desserts.

NN Anita MohamedThe location is simply perfect! The hotel is so close to Xi’an Drum Tower that we could even see it from our window. It’s less than 150 meters to the Muslim Quarter and Xi’an Grand Mosque, with endless halal food options all around – truly a heaven for Muslim travellers.
Our room was very spacious with a super comfy bed, and we were pleasantly surprised with a plate of welcome fruit. The hotel also provides delicious and nutritious drinks at the reception, a lovely afternoon tea set for two with plenty of snacks, and even a comforting bowl of porridge at night – such thoughtful touches!
The staff were friendly, helpful, and made our stay even more enjoyable.
We would definitely come back to this hotel on our next trip to Xi’an.

The staff were incredibly warm and enthusiastic, offering flexible and genuinely thoughtful service. As a smart hotel, the intelligent features like AC and curtains were very convenient. The room featured comfortable bedding, a bathroom with separate wet and dry areas, a purified water dispenser, and a mini-fridge. There's also a self-service laundry room and free parking, which met all my travel needs. The room corners were dust-free, the bed linen was pristine white and fresh, and there was no water pooling in the bathroom. Housekeeping was meticulous daily, and the breakfast area cutlery was properly sanitized, ensuring a worry-free dining experience. Conveniently located near the high-speed train station and bus stops, the hotel is well-soundproofed and quiet. The price is reasonable, offering significantly better value for money than other hotels in the same price range. Overall, a perfect experience! I'll definitely choose Jingyu again next time I'm in this city and will highly recommend it to my friends!
