We spent 12 nights in Taiwan, touring the island, and this is by far the most beautiful and functional hostel/hotel we’d stayed in. Absolutely love the lay out of the place. With a big courtyard in the middle, filled with plants. The ground floor has a common fully functional kitchen (with fridge, oven, stove, steamer, we even found Chinese tea set for those wanting to try out Chinese tea making), lots of pots and pans, they even provide cooking oil, sauces, salt for cooking. It’s so clean and tidy that every guest using the place was obligated to keep the place the same state! On the ground floor, there are lots of comfortable seats for reading or having a chat. Tables for doing work. Bean bags to sit and lounge around. The hostel provides bike mounts for those who come in bicycle, a bike repair area with some tools to fix your bike. Those who drive, there is a nearby parking for hostel guest (TWD50 per day) We get vouchers to spend in a few places nearby, so we used it to pay for our brunch at Lane28. They were enough to cover brunch for 3 of us for 2 days. The rooms too are nicely designed. Our deluxe double room comes with a big bed, a sofa, and a study table. The hotel even provide journaling books, stamps, washi tapes for journaling. Absolutely coming back! And will try the other Norden Ruder hostel in Taichung.

This is a really cosy place. I really love my room. Clean and modern interior. The only downside might be the location. It's close to the train station. But there isn't much nearby for food. Probably best to rent a scooter to explore Taitung anyway to make your stay more convenient. They are plenty of scooter shops near the train station too.

I booked the room on the Trip website, but because the website does not allow separate reservations for meals, and we wanted to go out for dinner on the first night and have a buffet dinner at the hotel on the second night, I had to book the two nights separately. When I arrived at the hotel, the counter staff said that because there were group guests tomorrow, we would have to change rooms tomorrow, which means we would have to check out at 11 am the next day and check into another room after 3 pm. I reported that there was no such option on the website, and then another counter staff member negotiated it and said: It has been arranged for us, and we will stay in the same room tomorrow (thanks to the other counter staff). Another counter staff member said that we had to call them first, and then the counter staff who helped us check in said that there would only be set meals tomorrow and no buffet. Do we want to have the buffet tonight instead? (The meal ordered on the website was a buffet) but we came all the way to Taitung and planned a lot of food itineraries, and now we are really full. Later we accepted it, and just wanted to say... Can you please not be so stern! The hotel counter staff had a stern face from beginning to end. Their attitude is very important‼ ️I didn’t show any unhappiness because of your changes in dining or the need to change rooms. The purpose of going on vacation is to be happy, so just go with the flow! But because of that face without a smile, I probably won’t choose Jinlian Century Hotel next time!

I checked in around 7pm on Friday night. The reception staff were very kind and introduced the public spaces carefully and clearly. The rooms are large, have balconies, and the toilets are separated from wet and dry. I am very satisfied with the living environment and the price is not expensive. It cost about 900 for two people and I was very satisfied with the experience.

Hotel location is superb. But I personally like the most of this hotel is their buffet breakfast. It’s one of the best breakfast I ever had in taitong hotels given this was my 5th trip to taitung in last 3 years. The buffet breakfast is well prepared, so many different varieties of food and the staffs provided top notch service to all customers Highly recommended Fish hotel, best local chain

It is a very nice cozy hotel at a very strategic location. Surrounded by food store, market, supermarket and just next to the Taitung Night Market (same row with less than 5 mins walk)

The assigned room is right next to the elevator, so the sound of machinery and equipment can be heard in the room, and the sound of street traffic can be heard on the other side of the room. The sound insulation is not very good, so people who are sensitive to sound should consider this.

Our stay at this hotel was a mixed experience, and overall, I wouldn't consider it worth the cost. The hotel itself is old, and the facilities feel very dated. While it boasts a large swimming pool and spa areas, they were unusable during our stay as they were running with cold water. We didn’t see anyone using them. The “beauty pool,” which was advertised as having heated water, was disappointing due to a strong sewer-like smell. Additionally, the sauna is not complimentary for hotel guests, which felt unreasonable. The dining experience was also underwhelming. The à la carte food in the restaurant was below average in quality, the portions were small, and the prices were high. However, the atmosphere was pleasant, though it felt odd being the only customers at 8 p.m. On a brighter note, the breakfast was excellent. I would rate it four stars for its variety of local and aboriginal food, which was a highlight of the stay. The timing of activities for kids was inconvenient as well. While kids could play pool and ping pong for free in the evening (after we arrived at 7 p.m.), all other activities were scheduled for late morning or early afternoon, after checkout time. The hotel’s location is another drawback. It is far from restaurants and busy areas, making it necessary to have a car or take a taxi. The one positive aspect of our stay was the room. We booked the premium family room/suite, which provided separate sleeping areas for parents and kids—a feature we appreciated. However, this came at a premium price, costing 25% more. I had requested a room with a view, and the front desk clerk was accommodating, which I appreciated. Overall, while the room and breakfast were nice, the rest of the experience didn’t justify the cost or the inconvenience. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel unless significant improvements are made to the facilities and services.

Location was 8min drive from station. It was the newest and most modern hotel in zhiben I feel. It could be 5star standards. The hotel comes with the hot spring which was a really good highlight of trip. I try hot spring in zhiben out in town and it wasn’t better than the hotel’s. That’s how nice it was. Breakfast was repetitive. Can be improved with more varieties for consecutive days. Room was perfect. Clean, big and comfortable bed. This is my first and only choice to stay in zhiben.
