"Beyond my expectation! I picked this hotel based on the good reviews on Trip.com and happy to report that the hotel exceeded my expectation. From the first impression I love how this boutique hotel is decorated in a traditional chinese style. The room itself is beautifully designed, modern, and clean. The bed is very comfortable as well. It was perfect to come back to the room from a long day of walking & sightseeing. The hotel is conveniently located near the the North Gate & in a quieter part of Songpan old town, which is great for getting a good night sleep. However, the best part of my stay at this hotel is the staff, especially the lovely young lady named Xiao Zeng. From the check-in she showed me a couple of rooms to choose from to make sure I’m happy with the room. Not only that, she went beyond her duty to help arrange for the transportation to Songpan train station (it was not possible to get Didi due to rain), as well as to provide helpful tips on what to eat and what to see/do while in Songpan. This makes my traveling experience much smoother and hassle free. Keep up the good work, Xiaozeng 👍☺️ Definitely recommended."

"For those who carry vehicles it may be difficult to park, but the place is very beautiful with antique buildings resembling zang culture. The service is also perfect! The waiter is very friendly and helps in providing bus information and traveling around! very recommended! The location is also not far from the ancient city of song. only about 500 meters walk."

"This B&B has clean, tidy rooms with complete amenities. The owner proactively contacted me by phone to arrange a pick-up at the station and let me know the price for a shared ride, so I didn't get ripped off. I also rented a car directly from her to visit the attractions, eliminating the hassle of finding one outside, and the price was reasonable. I booked late and didn't get a larger room, but when one became available, the owner proactively asked if I needed a change. The breakfast was delicious, like Japanese food, with individual portions for each person, and refills available. We even had some packed up for us. I also want to give a special thank you to the owner. I bought some local specialties from Songpan that were difficult to carry, and she enthusiastically delivered them to my home. That was so thoughtful! Songpan's Zaga Waterfall is amazing, and I particularly enjoyed the ancient city. I'll definitely stay here again next time I'm in Chengdu, and I definitely recommend staying at this B&B again. It was a truly wonderful experience! 👍"

"The hotel facilities are very good and the decoration is also very good. I like it very much. The service staff at the hotel are also very friendly and responsive. From checking in to making special requests, they responded quickly and did their best to accommodate my needs. This makes me very satisfied. And the price/performance ratio is very high. "My partner and I absolutely loved our stay here! Despite the city noise from a nearby construction site, the hotel itself was wonderfully quiet and peaceful. It really exceeded our expectations and delivered on everything promised. We stayed in a beautiful suite on the 2nd floor with a cosy balcony that gave us plenty of privacy. On arrival, we were welcomed with afternoon tea and small snacks, which set the tone right away. The suite was sparkling clean — something very important to me — and even had a massive TV, perfect for winding down with a movie at night. Thoughtful touches like oxygen supplementation by the bed and an electric blanket for chilly nights made our stay extra comfortable. Honestly, we didn’t feel like we were missing anything. I personally loved the design of both the hotel and the room — it felt so warm and welcoming that I didn’t want to leave. The location couldn’t be better: right in the center of Songpan on a quieter street, just a few minutes’ walk to explore the whole town, grab coffee, or try local food. The staff were incredible — extremely friendly, helpful, and responsive to our personal requests, even before our arrival. They really made us feel taken care of. Breakfast is a traditional Chinese-style one, with steamed buns, stir-fried veggies, eggs, and rice porridge. If that’s not your thing, there are plenty of nearby spots for coffee and other options. Overall, we left with the feeling that we had chosen the best hotel in town. I’ll definitely stay here again if we return to Songpan."

"When booking a Family room with a window I couldn’t expect to have a window in the room overlooking an elevator hall, not a real street. Very noisy from early morning till late at night because of the elevator and people using it, smoking smell everywhere. The location is convenient, a small shop in the near, a nice walking area by the river nearby. If you confirm while booking that your room has a normal window overlooking the street and you are ready to the noise and smoking smell this hotel can be an option for one night."

"Pickup from Songpan High-Speed Rail Station: High-speed rail transfer service is available; just arrange it in advance. The hotel staff were all exceptionally friendly and attentive. The name 'Fifty-Six Rooms' immediately brought to mind China's 56 ethnic groups, and I later confirmed that this meaningful connection was indeed the inspiration behind the hotel's name. There's a cafe right next to the hotel, Songye Cafe, which offers excellent service, food, and drinks. This hotel was recommended by a local friend in Songpan, and I would absolutely choose to stay here again if I return."

"This hotel has arguably the best facilities in the entire ancient city. The breakfast is plentiful and generally meets all your needs. The interior design is similar to that of the chain Orange Atour, and the rooms are spacious. We stayed in room 8509. We had a minor hiccup, but the front desk lady was friendly, gentle, and quick to resolve the issue. She was very knowledgeable. The hotel is a bit far from the ancient city, about a 15-minute walk, and is 20 meters away in a small alley. There's an observation deck on the eighth floor, which is truly stunning. Taxis are easily hailed from the door, and Didi taxis arrive in about five minutes. However, during holiday seasons, Didi will increase the fare to 15 one-way to the ancient city. Songpan Ancient City is located at an altitude of 2,800 meters, which may cause altitude sickness for tourists from coastal areas. We recommend resting for a day before visiting the two scenic spots of Munigou the next day. Our family took a taxi from the hotel to the visitor center, then took a bus to the scenic spots for 40 yuan per person, which was very cost-effective. The bus driver was also very friendly and professional in explaining the attractions."

"The hotel environment was quite pleasant – clean, tidy, and free of any smoke or strange odors. Although there was no air conditioning, the underfloor heating and electric blankets kept us warm even on very cold nights. The breakfast was quite simple but sufficient, featuring items like pickles, shredded potatoes, boiled corn, steamed buns, and boiled eggs. It provided plenty of carbohydrates, perfect for fueling up before a hike. Conveniently, there's a store right across from the hotel if you need to buy anything. The shuttle service was excellent; the staff were very friendly and it was extremely convenient. The only minor issue was that the underfloor heating seemed to stop working halfway through the night, making it a bit chilly when we woke up. Luckily, I didn't catch a cold."
