It is located directly opposite Kaiyuan Temple and 50 meters away from the central location of the ancient chaozhou paifang street. In the hustle and bustle of the city surrounded by peace, far from the world, but under the world, big hidden in the city!
"**💡Ambiance:** Rooms in popular tourist destinations typically experience high occupancy, leading to more wear and tear. While not brand new, the hotel's predominantly white design is surprisingly well-maintained, which is quite commendable. The bedding was fresh and clean, free from any strange odors, and didn't cause any skin irritation.
**👯♂️Service:** The staff demonstrated excellent service awareness. It's clear the manager is deeply committed to running the hotel and fostering positive guest relationships, always striving to resolve any issues. The housekeeping staff were also incredibly diligent; I often observed them meticulously cleaning and tidying up when passing by.
**📍Location:** The hotel is situated right inside the scenic area, making it very family-friendly, especially with children. In the mornings, the kids were taken out for a stroll while we enjoyed some extra sleep at the hotel. Shared electric scooters and tricycles are readily available right outside the entrance, offering very convenient transportation.
**🚘Parking:** There are only two 'first-come, first-served' parking spaces directly in front of the hotel. However, the hotel does provide a dedicated parking lot about a ten-minute walk away. When we needed to retrieve our car, the lovely manager kindly lent us an electric bike to ride to the parking lot. I'd suggest the hotel consider offering a shuttle service to and from the remote parking lot. This would be incredibly convenient, as guests typically rely on tricycles or shared e-scooters for getting around the area, meaning there's often no need to drive once parked. With light rail construction ongoing nearby, driving can also be very congested. We didn't use our car at all after parking it for the duration of our stay. A parking shuttle service from the hotel would undoubtedly enhance the overall guest experience.

"That afternoon, we made a last-minute decision to cancel our original hotel booking, thinking it would be more convenient to stay on Paifang Street given the rainy weather. We were pleasantly surprised by this hotel! Firstly, its prime location right on Paifang Street makes it incredibly convenient to walk to several major attractions. Secondly, the design is full of thoughtful details, and the hotel feels very new as it hasn't been open long. Every staff member, from the butler to the front desk and restaurant staff, was incredibly friendly! Initially, after reading some reviews, I was a bit concerned about potential street noise. However, we were assigned a room on the 6th floor, and based on my family's experience, aside from a brief minute or two of noticeable noise from the street below around 9 AM, we didn't hear any other street noise at all during our stay. P.S. A minor suggestion for improvement: perhaps because we are a family of four, the waste bins in both the bathroom and the room were a bit on the small side for our needs."

Chaoyi Minglin Mansion is a courtyard style inn of Chaozhou ancient residential buildings invested and operated by Chaoyi Minglin Mansion Tourism Management Co., Ltd. The original owner was Lin Xichun, the Minister of the Ming Dynasty. The mansion was built by Lin Xichun during his leisurely visit to the forest and has a history of over 400 years. The inn retains the traditional architectural layout of local ancient houses, providing customers with an immersive "museum" living experience. The Minglin Mansion faces west to east and is a three entry courtyard. On both sides of the main gate, there are standing stone drums and blue brick walls, granite, depicting traces of 400 years of wind and rain, exuding a strong historical charm. Chaozhou Gongfu Tea, Chaozhou Woodcarving, Chaozhou Ceramics, Chaozhou Cuisine and other craft and cultural imprints are scattered throughout every corner of the mansion. Through this model of Ming Dynasty mansion architecture, many aspects of Chaozhou culture can be read. The style of the guest rooms varies greatly, and the room names are all taken from Lin Xichun's poetry, reflecting the basic concept of "bringing poetry into life" in homestays. The rationalization of the interior of the mansion and the appropriate introduction of modern facilities have also made the living environment more elegant and comfortable.

Before making our booking, I made a point of looking through the negative reviews. One mentioned service not being up to par, another complained about distant parking – and honestly, that just put my mind at ease! 😂
We stayed for a total of five days. I absolutely despise the rushed, checklist-style 'hit-and-run' tours, so a leisurely pace was our top priority. We woke up naturally each day, and the host was incredibly thoughtful. Aside from some helpful WeChat messages and gentle reminders, we experienced absolutely no disturbances.
We didn't bother with detailed planning ourselves. Although we drove to the location, once we'd parked, we were quite content not to move the car again. We opted for the host's recommendation of a local driver-guide to take us around. This meant we avoided any unnecessary detours, didn't have to worry about the hassle of parking at attractions, and could even happily enjoy a couple of drinks!
In short: If you have an interest in history and appreciate the authentic charm and atmosphere of a traditional old residence, choosing this place will absolutely not disappoint."

"A friend from Shantou came to Chaozhou for a visit and decided to stay overnight. At about 10 o'clock in the evening, he hurriedly booked Apartment 2808 on Ctrip. Unexpectedly, the apartment manager was also enthusiastic and diligent. He assured us that we could check in in 10 minutes. As soon as we entered the apartment, we were full of surprises. The kitchen, refrigerator, washing machine, and Gongfu tea set were all available. The room was tidy and clean, and even the bathroom was clean and reflective. The bathroom was fully equipped with disposable toiletries. The home hardware was purchased from big brands with quality assurance, such as TOTO's bathroom. His mattress was actually a Slumberland mattress (PS: soft and comfortable, the experience is simply too good to sleep)...
When I got up in the morning, Chaozhou was still raining heavily😂, but I also saw a different rainy scene of Guangji Bridge through the floor-to-ceiling windows of the apartment. The misty Guangji Bridge was like a landscape ink painting with heavy makeup and light makeup, which was also an unexpected gain😄"

"This five-star rating is genuinely earned, not inflated or requested by the front desk. I've noticed many hotel front desks ask guests to give them a perfect score, but this one didn't. The hotel's location is excellent, right next to a bustling market street. It has two adjacent parking lots, which is very convenient for those traveling by car; a kindergarten is located between them. The room was spotless, equipped with a smart assistant, and they even offered robot delivery for takeaways. All the toiletries had a pleasant orange scent. Key card access is required for the elevators. The surrounding area is packed with all sorts of eateries and snack shops, offering everything from beef hotpot to raw fish congee. A fruit dessert shop is just across the street. Service was generally satisfactory. There's a gym and free laundry facilities on the second floor. It should be quite close to Paifang Street, but unfortunately, we encountered a typhoon, so we only stayed for one night before heading to our next destination."

A family of five, we checked into two Grand View King Rooms at Nanyi Grand Hotel for two nights and had a delightful stay from start to finish!

"Our room was spacious and immaculate, with beautiful traditional Chinese aesthetics incorporated throughout. The small courtyard was tranquil and offered a truly relaxing ambiance. The butler service was excellent; they proactively contacted us a day in advance to help reserve a convenient parking space right at the entrance. The complimentary breakfast, served at 'Shibazhu Yujiao' (just a five-minute walk away), was absolutely delicious. We also appreciated the thoughtful self-service laundry and drying facilities. A lovely touch was the complimentary Dancong Duck **** Fragrance tea bags provided in the room, complete with a professional tea set and table for brewing. Highly recommended!"

While the staff may not be numerous, every single person is wonderful. Unlike the impersonal service often found in chain hotels, this place truly feels like home. Vast and Linda, in particular, are incredibly engaging and helpful – such genuinely lovely people! Even the room service attendant and the cleaning staff always greeted us with warm, friendly smiles.
The cleanliness is also impeccable; there wasn't a speck of dirt anywhere. You could even run barefoot on the outdoor stone paths.
Breakfast is another highlight. Having stayed in several hotels in Chaoshan over the past few days, this was the only one that truly offered authentic Teochew-inspired breakfast options, and everything was incredibly fresh and delicious.
An 'auntie' staff member saw us with our children and kindly offered them some German-made candies with good ingredients. Both the mini-bar selections and the bathroom amenities were also of excellent quality.
The hotel also has a resident cat, Xiongda, who is incredibly adorable with his short legs. When the front desk staff noticed I wanted to pet him, they even offered me a cat treat stick. The next day, I wanted to give Xiongda another treat, but the front desk attendant kindly informed me that he had already had two for the day and couldn't have more. It's clear they genuinely care for the cat and prioritize his well-being.
I'll definitely be visiting other hotels in the 'You Xiong' series in the future. What particularly impressed me was noticing, while walking around, that the hotel is equipped with an AED. This suggests the owner is truly thoughtful and responsible – very impressive!
However, one minor point for improvement is that the room felt a little too much like a display suite, making it perhaps a bit too business-oriented for a relaxing holiday."

"Still craving Shantou cuisine since last summer, this was my second stay at the Golden Gulf Hotel. Its location is superb, being close to the city center and just a 10-minute walk from Longyan South Road Snack Street, which is bustling with eateries. The hotel lobby is spacious and bright, and the front desk staff were very welcoming. Check-in was efficient and smooth.
The rooms are spacious, elegantly and comfortably decorated. The bed was soft, the room was neat and clean, and came with all the necessary amenities. The hotel's fitness facilities are well-equipped, and there's also a heated swimming pool – perfect for working off all the delicious food after a culinary tour!
I was delighted to meet 'Tuhao Ge' again; he was incredibly enthusiastic, recommending excellent dining spots and travel itineraries for the Chaoshan region. I'm truly thankful for the encounter! This time, I also had the opportunity to try the Chinese restaurant on the second floor. Every dish was freshly prepared by hand, making them healthy, fresh, and delicious.
Overall, the Shantou Golden Gulf Hotel excels in its facilities, service quality, and location, making it an ideal choice for business or leisure travelers to Shantou. I would definitely consider staying here again on my next visit."

"Location is within the Chaozhou Old City area, on a side street just off of Paifang Street. There are endless options for food, drinks and snacks on Paifang St.
The design of the room is nice, with the skylight above the ”tea” corner. The door locks with old style wooden slats.
The bathroom is very dark, would be helpful to have brighter lighting. Cooler Air Conditioning would be more comfortable in summer.
Disappointing to receive disposable paper towels as bathtowels.
Room would benefit from deeper cleaning. Lots of dust trapped in the air exhaust in the bathroom. The local feral dogs use the skylight as their toilet.
A nicely designed conversion to ”homestay” property, would be even better with a little nore attention to the details."

GGuest UserThe C-position, ceiling hotel on Paifang Street is a few minutes' walk from Guangji Bridge, which is convenient for coming and going on Chaozhou's busiest pedestrian street. After entering the hotel, it is completely different from the bustling street. The sound insulation is very good, and there is no noise at all. The hotel has high added value, with parking lots and restaurants with good relationships, and it also contacts taxis, which is especially valuable during holidays. The New Year's Eve dinner on New Year's Eve has a long queue, and the housekeeper helps to take it to Chaoshanlou, and there is almost no queue. This restaurant not only has delicious dishes, but also very enthusiastic service. Thank you so much haha! All the service staff of the hotel are of high quality, warm and friendly. This stay experienced Chaozhou opera culture and Kung Fu tea, and walked the streets with the housekeeper to eat authentic local snacks that are not Internet celebrity stores, so... The most correct thing for this Spring Festival travel is to book the Royal Hotel.

EE2192****I selected this hotel based on recommendations from various platforms. Initially, I was a bit concerned it might be dated, but after checking in, I'm happy to give it an overall excellent review.
**Service:** The staff were all wonderful – they communicated clearly and softly, and were very responsive. The lobby offered a variety of healthy teas, which were a pleasant and practical touch. They also provide complimentary laundry service; my clothes were washed, neatly folded, and hung on the doorknob within three to four hours, ready for me upon my return.
**Ambiance:** The ambiance is very tranquil and elegant. Regular Pipa performances further accentuated its refined charm. Chaozhou West Lake is directly opposite, making it incredibly convenient for morning strolls. Although some previous reviews mentioned noise, I personally found it quite acceptable.
**Transportation:** Taxis are easily accessible. The Ancient City is about a 15-minute walk away, and there are plenty of convenient dining options nearby.

FfafafoofooDuring my recent stay at the Homeinn Plus Chauzhou Hotel, I encountered a rather mixed experience that I feel compelled to share. Upon entering my room, I was immediately struck by an unpleasant odor that lingered in the air, making it difficult to relax. The smell seemed to be a combination of stale air and something musty, which certainly put a damper on my first impression of the hotel.
Despite the initial setback, I found the hotel staff to be exceptionally helpful and accommodating. After expressing my concerns at the front desk, the receptionist was quick to apologize and offered to reallocate me to a different room. I appreciated their responsiveness and willingness to rectify the situation, which significantly improved my experience.
The new room was a breath of fresh air—literally. It was clean, well-maintained, and free of any unpleasant odors. I was grateful for the staff's prompt action, which allowed me to enjoy the rest of my stay without any lingering discomfort. The amenities in the new room were satisfactory, with comfortable bedding and a nice view of the surrounding area.
While my initial room left much to be desired, the positive attitude and efficiency of the hotel staff made a significant difference. Their commitment to customer satisfaction transformed a potentially negative experience into a more pleasant one. In conclusion, while I cannot overlook the issue of the stinky room, the helpfulness of the staff in reallocating me to a better accommodation certainly deserves recognition. PPaul. SThe best part of this place is the location, right behind YUY Hotel at the junction of Paifang Street (Taiping Rd) and Xima Road. You can just walk a few minutes to Kaiyuan Temple, Guangji Gate and Guangji Bridge. At 5.30pm, they remove the pontoons in the middle of the bridge and at 8pm, there is a light show. Food is abundantly found in the surrounding streets. Access to this hotel is via the 2 lanes beside YUY Hotel from Paifang street or Xima Road. The boss and his wife communicate in Mandarin, so Google translate will come in handy. Before checking in, you need to inform the inn of the time of arrival so that the boss can meet you. We were given a key card and complete freedom to go in and out anytime. The place is quiet and very clean. It is also quite new. Amenities are good quality, towels and bedding all good. Perfect for an independent traveller. Hosts are friendly and helpful. There is a washing machine and place for drying clothes on the rooftop. If you come from Chaosan train station, take bus K2 and stop at the Central Hospital opposite West Lake and walk to the inn in about 10-15mins. Make sure you have WeChat installed in your phone to communicate with the host.

Cleanliness: Spotless! I even told the cleaning staff it was clean enough, but she clearly has incredibly high standards for herself.
Ambiance: Very pleasant, a quiet oasis tucked away in a bustling neighborhood.
Service: I was quite annoyed with the room key issue. We were staying for consecutive nights, and after a tiring evening exploring the night market, we returned to our room on the sixth floor only to find the key card wasn't working. I sent my child to the front desk to get it reactivated. She came back saying it was fixed, but it still didn't work. I then had to go down *with* my child myself to the front desk to ensure it was properly reactivated before making another trek back up. It was genuinely exhausting.
Suggestion: It's quite inconvenient to have to reactivate the room key at the front desk when extending a stay. Most hotels allow guests to simply continue using their existing key without this extra step. I hope this process can be improved, especially given how busy the elevators already are.

XXiaojiaCAPTAINI booked the Yongji Bridge view room this time, and the view truly lived up to expectations. It offered an expansive, unobstructed panorama, making it truly delightful to take in the scenery. The room was a comfortable size, providing ample space for daily activities without feeling cramped.
The front desk staff were excellent, and the entire service team was quite friendly. Communication and handling of requests were smooth. Additionally, the hotel's facilities appeared quite new and didn't feel outdated when in use, contributing to a pleasant experience.
However, there was one minor drawback: I found some hair in the room upon check-in. While other aspects of cleanliness were satisfactory afterwards, the hotel still needs to pay more attention to detail during the cleaning process.

AAnni was never disappointed with Ji hotels. The room plan is well designed and practical. The electric bidet is nice esp. during winter with a warm seat. The room is spacious for 2 persons. They also provide 6 or 8 bottles(I forgot the exact number.) of drinking water in the room. The amenities are all provided. The ancient city is around 2 km away. If the weather is nice, you can enjoy the walk actually.

It is also convenient to go shopping in the ancient city after 10 pm when there are fewer tourists. The room environment is warmly decorated, clean and comfortable. It is located in a small alley next to Guangji Gate. It is quiet in the bustle. It is good to have a good rest at night without being noisy. The customer service Xiao Xu was enthusiastic and considerate. He asked about travel methods in advance and gave route suggestions. It was a very satisfying stay experience.
