Our stay in Interlaken was off to a confusing start. When we arrived at Happy Central Hostel, it was closed, and a note on the door directed us to leave our luggage at Hotel Toscana. At the reception, we were offered an upgrade to stay at Hotel Toscana itself for an additional CHF 80 plus CHF 21 city tax. The upgrade came with a private bathroom, which we appreciated, so we agreed.
However, the room had no air-conditioning, which made it uncomfortable at night. We had to keep the window open to get some air, but that came with safety concerns—the room was on the first floor, and the window opened to an accessible veranda that connected to other buildings on both sides. It didn’t feel entirely secure.
While the location was convenient, and the upgrade offered more privacy, the lack of proper ventilation and safety made the stay less ideal than expected.

It is a very good hotel, just 450 meters from the Interlaken West train station. Walk straight through the alley and you will arrive. It is right at the bus stop in an area with many restaurants. The Chinese restaurant is downstairs. Next to the left is a Thai restaurant. Next to the right is a Korean restaurant. Behind is an Indian restaurant. Opposite is a bank. Walk to the left is a supermarket. There is a Coop restaurant. The food is cheaper than other restaurants. But the best thing is that the hotel has a kitchen where you can cook your own food comfortably. There are complete equipment such as a cooking pot, rice cooker, hot water kettle, frying pan, oven, microwave, knife, chopsticks, spoon, fork, dishwashing liquid, Scotch-Brite. The bed is comfortable. The blanket is soft and clean.

Overall, the price/performance ratio is good.
The location is very good, there are Chinese people at the front desk, and the communication is very smooth. It is very close to Interlaken West Station and COOP. The room is just a little small and there is not enough space for activities.
