Instow Barton

We stayed for three nights. The location is peaceful and feels a bit remote but it only took us 10 minutes to walk to Instow to eat. The room was more like a small flat with a bedroom, small dining area and separate toilet and bathroom. The room was refreshed every day with clean towels, fresh milk and homemade cakes. The breakfast is the best we’ve had in a bed and breakfast or indeed a hotel and the hosts were delightful and nothing was too much trouble. On the day we left we paid for a packed lunch for the long trip home, cost about the same as we spent on the way down in a service station but infinitely better. I can’t see we will stay anywhere else when visiting this area in future.

Lovely greeting by host Caroline, our room nos 3 was simply sumptuous, huge bed, plenty of space in the room, nicely furnished, large bathroom, all spotlessly clean. Great nights very quiet sleep. Breakfast pre - ordered was one of the best ever in any hotel we've stayed at, very well cooked, plentiful, excellent side choices too, really nice room, first class service from Caroline. Car parking no problem. Our first stay at Instow Barton, but definitely not our last!....we will be returning 2025. Marilyn & Brian. Worcester

Excellent experience. Welcoming hosts who go out of their way to make you stay memorable. Great breakfast and tea and cake in the afternoon. About 10 mins walk to the couple of pubs in Instow where the food was very good. Ideal location for visiting Rosemore, Baggy Point, Hartland Quay etc. Would go back without hesitation.

Loved our stay here in this beautiful home. Our room was so comfortable, styled so well and maintained well. There were delicious scones and jam for us in the room, what a delight! Bathroom was very good too. Such a peaceful location with the church next door. Walked into the village for dinner, an easy walk. Our breakfast was outstanding, served in the beautiful dining room, very delicious and plentiful, the best! Caroline was a very accommodating host. We loved our 1 night stay.

A really exquisite B&B. We had wondered about the very specific check-in times 2-6 but when we arrived realised this was because Caroline and Colin work very hard to make their B&B a unique and very special experience. The house is a beautiful converted farmhouse within easy walking distance of the beach. We had a warm welcome from Caroline and Colin. There was homemade cake in our room and we took up the offer to have it on the lovely garden terrace overlooking beautiful countryside. In the evening we had dinner on the seafront having booked this previously. There was a fabulous view of the sea setting. It was clear a huge amount of care had gone into everything from the spotless cleanliness of our room, the beautiful soap, fabulous bed lined and gorgeous decor. Caroline and Colin are both chefs and made a superb, and very generous, breakfast which included all sorts of delights including delicious apple pastries made using apples from the orchard. Once again, it was clear that a great deal of care had gone into selecting and cooking quality ingredients. Absolutely delightful!

a lovely large room with a huuuuge bed. Down filled quilt and pillows made for a very comfortable sleep. Tea and Coffee in your room and home made cake every afternoon is a bonus. the terrace was nice and a visit from Aubergine the cat helped make this spot even more friendly....views out over the fields are a must. The breakfast was excellent with home made granola, marmalade and pastries and a very filling full English breakfast. On one of the days we were heading out early so our hosts, Caroline and Colin, made us up a packed breakfast including bacon or sausage sandwich, granola, yoghurt, fresh fruit platter and the excellent pastries so we didn't miss out. All in all a fantastic stay and wonderful hosts...it was great to meet all their lovely doggies too.
