The location of this hotel is pretty good. You walk from the historical center of Innsbruck towards the bridge, you cross it and then go up a little bit. It’s at most 10 minutes by foot. The hotel seems small but nice. There is an issue with the parking though. It’s on the sides of the building and very limited. We warned the staff that we will arrive two hours earlier the check in and they said it was fine, however on that day the front desk person didn’t want to allow us to park (later she did after we mentioned the emails). We were also not given the room even though it was ready (we know because they okayed to leave our luggage there). I understand the rules but I worked in the hospitality business for many years and traveled a lot and it’s a common practice to give the guests their room a bit earlier if it’s ready. Except this not most pleasant check in, our stay was fine. The room was tiny but clean. The breakfast was simple but nice. We thought it was a good value. If you need a budget stay, you can consider this place.

Ppeter m 2023.12.14
Located on the outskirts of Innsbruck the hostel is relatively easy to get to. From the central station you just walk around the corner and catch the number 3 tram (heading for Amras). After a few stops you get off at `Pilippine-welser strabe’ and then walk for about ten minutes. Incidentally, if your flight is a morning one, don’t turn up at the hostel in the hope of an early check-in as there is no receptionist until 14.00. So unless you want to sit outside and twiddle your thumbs you would be better off placing your bags in one of the rail station lockers and having a look around the city. Our room was small and basic (no television etc.) and our allocated bathroom was across the corridor. But it was all high spec and, in keeping with the rest of the hostel, spotlessly clean. The receptionists were polite, knowledgeable and helpful (don’t forget to ask for your welcome card which gives you free travel on the trams and buses within the city). Breakfast was more than sufficient to keep us going for most of the day, although some might feel that the choice on offer a bit limited. Should we ever return to Innsbruck we’d be happy to stay at the Marmota again.

We originally had our main hotel stay booked in Hintertux. We were paying a lot for the hotel and after considering our long journey from Australia, we figured it may make sense to stay close to the airport at Innsbruck for our first day to get some sleep and continue our journey to Hintertux the next morning. We saved quite a bit of money making this decision and made a great choice! We walked to Penz West from the airport with four suitcases and four back packs. It was five minutes on foot and that was in thick snow! The room was way beyond our expectations for a hotel so close to the airport. It was very spacious, beautifully decorated and included breakfast that was simply magnificent. The hotel also had a wellness area including sauna, steam room, cold plunge shower and a gym. The price was extremely reasonable given all it had to offer us. The staff were very helpful and gave us some local tips about the town of Innsbruck (beautiful Christmas markets) and some mountain trips. We were too tired to do the mountain trips but enjoyed Innsbruck. We could easily have spent more time in this beautiful place and would not hesitate to book Penz West again if we are travelling this route. Mr 11 and 12 year old loved this place!

We spent one night in this hotel during a roadtrip. The hotel is magnificent and completely quiet. The rooms are very spacious, with a pretty terrace and very comfortable bedding. The only downside is the lack of air conditioning but this seems to be the case in many hotels in the mountains. It was very hot during our stay and the night was not very relaxing... There is a large spa accessible free of charge as well as a swimming pool and it is very pleasant to relax there. The breakfast was simply extraordinary: a wide variety of fresh and refined products. The restaurant was unfortunately closed the evening we were there and this was a problem for us as we were on a motorbike and no restaurant was within reasonable walking distance. That’s when Monique, the receptionist, naturally offered us to take her car so we could go eat! We couldn’t believe such kindness! We didn't dare leave for an entire evening in his car and so borrowed it to get takeaway pizzas not far from the hotel. She then brought us the necessary cutlery and a bottle of wine. We were truly touched by such kindness and I would like to take advantage of this comment to thank her again!

We stayed in the hotel for 2 days and the restaurant convinced us to spend a night extra. The hotel itself is very nice with glass and wood, really ”authentic”. The comfortable room with wood and a very sympathetic disguised style. The big weak point is the bathroom, which in turn the deep side becomes deteriorating. The hotel was very clean and the toilets are very low and the shower is very close ... but it's done well..Conclusion: Hotel that looks out of time, hot staff and family atmosphere, really very pleasant restaurant with very good and exquisite Austrian dishes, even with a baby

My family has been spending the winter vacation in this hotel for almost 10 years, indicating our great satisfaction. The best part of this hotel is the staff, who are excellent, professional, friendly, and always ready to meet guests' needs. They are the soul of this hotel. A big shoutout to Kostya, Nastya, Slavica, Manfred, and others. The hotel is constantly invested in and renovated. A few years ago, the wellness center was renewed and expanded, which is excellent. All bars and the restaurant have been renovated, and we really like the new ambiance. The rooms in the Residence part of the hotel, where our rooms are located, are spacious, beautiful, and comfortable with plenty of storage space. However, they need a bit of renovation, such as new mattresses, radiators, shower faucets. These are minor issues that wouldn't prevent us from coming back. The hotel's hygiene is at an admirable level; everything is clean and tidy, and the whole hotel smells good. The cuisine is excellent; this year, desserts impressed us, and we send greetings to the new dessert chef (who works in the hotel for a long time and finally got the place he deserves). One observation is that in previous years, there was often a buffet-style dinner or snacks and desserts, but this year it only happened once a week. Also, the afternoon snack, discontinued since last year, is missed by us and other guests as far as we've noticed. We are aware of the economic challenges in Europe in recent years and hope the hotel will reintroduce these services when the opportunity arises. The hotel's location is also good; a short walk and you're in the village center. In conclusion, Seefeld is a charming village with not many ski slopes for advanced skiers, but several large ski resorts nearby for those seeking more adrenaline. The slopes in Seefeld are sufficient for us. My daughter likes to say that Hotel Alpenpark and Seefeld are like scenes from Christmas movies, and being there feels like entering a Christmas film—absolutely beautiful.

Jjobs_67The Alphotel Innsbruck is probably the worst hotel we've ever stayed at! But we had no choice since we were on a tour package and this was the hotel that Gate1 chose for our itinerary. We weren't the only tour members who did not have a good stay at this hotel. Our tour group had a long day and we were scheduled to arrive late so we were all pretty tired when we arrived. Unfortunately the room we were assigned to didn't even look or feel exceptionally clean and I'm surprised I didn't take photos of the room! Comparing posted photos of the rooms on TA our room looked much older and didn't even have a real chair, but only one of those small round ottomans. And that ottoman was dirty and stained, so we didn't want to sit on that! The bedspread had that ”ick” factor, so we removed it but at least the sheets were clean. Carpet looked grungy so we made sure to wear our slippers and not walk barefoot on it. Regret not taking pictures of the room now. We've stayed at hotels with older or ”tired” decor but they were at least neat and clean, but not at this hotel! Now the ”fun” part was our bathroom door. I was getting ready to take a shower and went into the bathroom, but wanted to use my own soap and toiletries, so I went out of the bathroom and my husband (who was standing in front of the bathroom, looking at the closet or something right across from the bathroom) shut the opaque glass bathroom door. I went back to the bathroom and tried to open the door and it was locked! It was one of those simple privacy type locks where there's usually a pinhole that you can usually press and it'll pop open. Unfortunately, there was no pinhole but a screw so I tried twisting the screw but the door remained locked. Husband tried but it kept turning and he didn't have any tools so he called the front desk and they sent the maintenance guy up. The maintenance guy looked at the door and tried twisting the screw with the same results and said he needed to go get his tools. He returned with his small toolbox and tried several screwdrivers, with no luck. Then he tried using a small drill to remove the screw and still couldn't get the door unlocked. Meanwhile, we were sitting on the bed and watching tv since there was nothing else we could do. I texted our friends who were also traveling in the tour group and assigned to the room right next door to let them know what was happening. And to apologize to them for the loud racket, as the maintenance guy went and got his large power drill and was basically removing the entire door knob and panel. So the guy had to destroy the whole door knob panel because the door lock screw or nut inside the panel was probably stripped and couldn't unlock or open the door; so if I was on the other side of the door I would have been stuck in the bathroom! Other hotel guests across the hall were opening their doors to find out what the loud racket and noises and disturbance was. This whole problem took the poor m

GGuest UserWe stayed there two nights and it was great value for its price. In a quaint part of Innsbruck, Pradl Elf fully immersed us in the heart of the city, only a short walk away from restaurants, the Olympic Park, and (a bit further of a walk) the old city. The room we got was spacious, comfortable, and clean. Though we didn't use it, the little kitchenette provided was quite nice and could have been used. The bathroom was good. It is clear that the hotel is not always staffed: before our arrival (which we said via a form would be at 3pm), they sent us emailed instructions for how to get in the event that no staff was there. The instructions were simple to follow and straightforward, but as an American it was a bit odd to not see any staff present. But, the whole time, we felt secure so it was fine. The parking will cost 8 euros a day but is convenient, located about a 2 minute walk from the hotel.

GGuest UserThis place was TERRIBLE! OK, Buckle Up for my review…. Originally planed to stay here a week but left after a couple days. I was switched between rooms 4 times because the A/C doesn’t work in any of them, yet it works fine in the lobby. I only found out the A/C in the room is regulated to 5min of air con so the hotel can save money. Everyone was complaining because the sun bakes the back of the hotel and the rooms were over 33 degrees C (90F). So all the rooms smell from sweaty body odors and the beds are greasy with sweaty oil. When I brought this to their attention they offered me a rickety old floor fan (at no charge) ???? Seriously? They also list “parking” but all the spaces are always full, when I finally got a spot under the hotel in the garage I noticed all the cars are banged up because the spaces are so small. If you look at the spaces they look like they were once normal size but have been squeezed down to accommodate more cars. Then there’s the food… The food serviced for breakfast is awful and appears to be what’s leftover from the restaurant the day before. It’s so bad it’s hard to describe. I could never complain about any of this to the front desk because they were always 7+ people deep with other guests complaining. Some big guy who I was told was the manager was yelling at some girl who was asking for her money back and was in tears because it was her honeymoon and this place was ruining it. I left for a cheaper hotel downtown with no A/C and no parking, or breakfast and it was 10X better for half the price. Plus, this place claims to be close to all the fun things to do in Innsbruck. That’s another total lie, they are on the outside of town but give their guests a bus ticket. It’s ridiculous. They also tried to charge me for the total stay when I checked out 3 days early for my room never getting below 28C. Luckily, my Credit Card company was on top of it and I got all my money back. There were so many people complaining that I’m skeptical of and positive reviews on TA.

GGuest UserVery good value in the center of Innsbruck. We were very happy with our experience. The hotel was just steps away from the Christmas market. Easily accessible by public transport and by foot from...anywhere in town. We had dinner in the restaurant and had an excellent meal. The breakfast was outstanding. Very friendly and accomodating staff.

GGuest UserMy husband and I stayed here recently with our dog. It was a very nice hotel and I wish I could have stayed longer. We had an amazing view of the town of Natters from our room. The breakfast was tasty. Parking was a breeze. The location was perfect for our visits into Innsbruck using the tram with a station down the street from the hotel. We also enjoyed dinner at the hotel restaurant on our last night and it was delicious. Room service for dessert later that night was a fun treat, as well. We did not use the spa/wellness area which was the only regret as I'm sure it was a very relaxing space. I have already recommended the hotel and would stay again if visiting the Innsbruck area again in the future.

GGuest UserWe had a great time at the Urban Inn! Modern and tastefully furnished apartment. Clean. The spaces are not large but we had a good time! Check in is online but we didn't have any difficulty getting in. The only limitation is that some apartments have windows at the back, ours on the ground floor looked out a bit onto the bins... Excellent location, 10 minute walk from the Golden Roof

GGuest UserWe enjoyed our stay at this hotel. It is in a convenient location for getting around - next to the train and bus station for links to the airport, international/national trains in other cities, the Swarovski crystal world and around a 10 minute easy walk to the old town. We were checked in early by a very friendly lady on reception who initially let us store our luggage. The snow capped mountain views from the room (ours was on the 8th floor) are stunning and framed perfectly by the big windows. The hotel reception and room was stylishly decorated. In the room, there was a small window that could be opened and the air conditioning was very quiet, though doesn’t go down to the 10c on the thermostat and seemed more like 20c. The bedding was very nice quality and had a soft and firm pillow - these were probably the most comfortable pillows I’ve experienced in a hotel before. The bathroom is, again, very modern with nice smelling hand wash and shower gel/shampoo. The shower head had a few different settings, including a massage mode which ran for a few seconds. The shelf for the shower gel/shampoo wasn’t very strong though, so had to be held or rested elsewhere and the pump head kept getting stuck, but otherwise was very good and the towels were very soft and thick. The room was fairly quiet, but you could hear other people in other rooms so it doesn’t appear to be soundproofed in any way. Noise from outside (trains, buses and incoming aeroplanes) were very minimal though and did not disturb us. We found the room cleaning system a little strange - there are two cards that you can put on the door. One is not to be cleaned at all during the day and the other is not to have the room cleaned at that time and needs to be removed before 2pm. There isn’t anything to put on the door when you want it to be cleaned, you just have to remove both from the door handle. We initially had the card attached to the door not to disturb at that time (overnight) and then removed it in the morning at 11am and the room had not been cleaned. We were able to get clean towels from reception though. It would be better in my opinion to have a card to have the room cleaned rather than two not to have it cleaned as most people would surely want the room cleaned. We went to the bar on the 13th floor during our stay. This can be visited by hotel guests and non hotel guests. This looks very nice and has great views all around, as well as an outdoor area with blankets. The prices of the drinks are reasonable and comparable with elsewhere in the city. We sat outside and then asked at the bar for a couple of drinks. We were told that there wasn’t any bar service for the outside area - only the inside (which is not a problem at all). However, it was a bit awkward when paying, the lady making the drinks asked if I wanted to give a tip. Given that the drinks were just being made and not brought to our table, I did not give a tip. I may be over thinking this, however it fe

GGuest UserI really wanted to like this place, right in the middle of the old town with large rooms by European standards. But when the manager threatens to call the cops and makes your sister-in-law cry based on a booking error, well you can only rate it one star. We were two families. My sister-in-law had a family of 5 and booked one of the rooms on ******* that had 2 double beds and a couch. ******* only let her enter 4 guests, which she figured was a limitation of how ******* worked. In any case, it didn't matter, as my family of 4 had booked a different room with the same number of beds, but which definitely slept 6, so we could take an extra person. Fast forward to check-in. When the manager asked my sister-in-law how many people she had, she said 5, at which point he went ballistic. He started calling her a ”f***ing American”, told her to get out of the hotel, and threatened to call the cops. It took several f-bombs later and a bit of help from the rest of the staff (which seemed dismayed at the manager's behavior), until he let her stay. At this point she was in tears. Completely abhorrent behavior. That manager needs a new profession. OH, and everything the review below said about the heat is 100% true. The building is designed like a greenhouse with a big open atrium with skylights at the top. This traps the heat in the building and sends it to the top floor. If you are unlucky enough to have the top floor rooms like the Stadtturm, you will bake. The highs during our stay topped out at only 80 degrees, but you can't get the heat out of the room with one tiny window. They might even promise you a portable air conditioner, but they don't vent it, so it just spits cold air out the front and hot air out the back, for no net gain. NEVER stay on the top floors in the summer here.

GGuest UserIt was sooo disappointing! To think that you were arriving at a respectable accommodation to find that they did not even have bell service. We arrived with our luggage and there was no one to help with it, our car service fortunately helped out, and then it was further downward from there. Every single item of request was a disappointment! Everything was answered with ”we simply do not have people to do the required service!” Not something one wants to hear while on vacation, paying full fee for a supposedly established place to stay.
