Fantastic find. On a busy pedestrianised street full of life, shops and restaurants, yet I still had a room that was absolutely silent at night. Very nice welcome, help with parking (underground car park a five minute walk away, 12,50 for an overnight stay). Good local restaurants, very clean and pleasant room, comfortable bed. The patron was a really nice guy who spoke English to me when I arrived after driving from Calais, and happy to switch to French the next morning when I had had a sleep! Lovely breakfast, including a choice of two kinds of butter. Class.

Check in was efficient and easy. Staff absolutely delightful. The room was extremely ”bijou”, certainly no room for error and on the second floor, with no lift. Apart from the shower the room was very clean and the bed very comfortable. For me personally the shower was hard to negotiate, rather a high step in and out and with wet feet, I didn't really feel safe. Breakfast was adequate. We stayed for 2 nights and I was pleased that the room was tidied as soon as we left for the day. The resident cat was also very friendly. The only real downside was the bar didn't open in the evening, but we had a bottle of wine and sat on the lovely little terrace after our day exploring.
Kyriad Tours Sud - Chambray LÈS Tours

After a long drive through the heat, we were glad to arrive at a hotel with air-conditioning! The rooms were clean and comfortable. The breakfast was also of good quality. Overall, the quality was good, except for the food at the restaurant (dinner) which was really of very low quality and I would certainly not recommend this. A salad was served in a kind of metal deep bowl, similar to the drinking or eating bowls for dogs. The salad itself was a strange mix of salad and greasy meat. We also ordered a ”brochette Atlantique”. This was apparently based on some frozen fish blocks which had been thawed (or steamed) and were almost tasteless. This was combined with some dry rice and a minuscule amount of sauce. Not being a cook, I could have prepared this so much better.
Séjours & Affaires Tours Léonard de Vinci

As a nostalgic kid who has gone back to studying in Tours for ten years, it must be said that this apartment has all the conveniences. It only takes 3 minutes to catch the train and it is very convenient to go to the castle and the city center. There is a mini kitchen in the apartment-style, where you can make your own tea, buy alcohol and make some convenient fast food. I booked the cheapest room type because I was traveling alone, but the room for me was facing the church bell tower, and the bed was super large and comfortable. It may not be as big as a big hotel room, but a typical French residence is like this. The sanitation is very good, but the catch is that there is no daily room cleaning.
Ibis Styles Chinon

The hotel is your basic Ibis hotel, the room was a decent size with a coach that doubles as a pull out bed. Very comfortable and clean. Shower over the bath with good water pressure (I have thick long hair so it's important that I can actually wash and rinse it!) The room had a balcony and we paid for the view of the fortress (shame about the building works going on in front of the hotel). The hotel has a restaurant which is open for breakfast and dinner and measures have been put into place to meet the COVID-19 restrictions. The room next to us had a huge dog staying with them and who also joined them for breakfast. I didn't hear the dog, he was on their balcony and was peering over the wall at me! So the walls must be a little sound proof. The hotel had a covered pool, you need to ask the front desk for towels. I found the pool cold, but it is heated. Biggest issue was the parking, the spaces are extremely narrow. It is impossible to park next to another car and get my daughter out of her seat in the back of our car.

Dommage, on aimait bien
