**Disappointing Experience at a Supposed 5-Star Hotel** I feel compelled to write this review because, despite reading many positive reviews before booking, I believe this hotel does not deserve its 5-star rating. I have traveled to 17 countries and stayed in various 5-star resorts and hotels, and the standards and service of this hotel are significantly lacking. Here are the key issues I encountered so that other potential guests can make a more informed decision. **Bar/Drinks Service** This was my main issue. There is no waiter service throughout the hotel, not even in the restaurants. Guests have to go up to the bar, order their own drinks, and carry them back to the table. The drinks are also terrible—no handmade cocktails, just pre-made bottles (like what you would give a teenager) that are 5% alcohol. The staff are all extremely young, with the pool bar bartender being only 16! Even in the nicer lobby bar, the cocktails are all made from pre-made bottles. This is totally unacceptable for a 5-star resort. **À la Carte Restaurant** Our experience at the fish restaurant was the tipping point that led me to write this review. My partner and I booked a dinner there, and while the sea-front location initially looked beautiful with petals on the table, we soon found 20+ ants crawling all over it and in the tapas food. I reported this to the manager, who simply wafted the ants with his hands while we were still seated. He walked away without offering any replacement food for the dishes with ants in them. I lifted the plate to find another 10 ants underneath. Despite reporting this again, the manager neither apologized nor offered us an alternative table. It was clear our table was above an ant nest, which could have been easily resolved by moving us. The next day, I woke up with five ant bites on the back of my thighs, which is totally unacceptable for a 5-star resort. Additionally, the waiter spent more time flirting with a guest than attending to us. The manager had to ask him four times to clear our plates, which he eventually did himself. This was highly unprofessional. **Room Cleaning Service** The rooms are “cleaned” daily, but they only change the bed sheets and do not touch anything else. When we arrived, there was mold in the shower that was not cleaned once during our 11-day holiday. This is not what I’d expect from a 5-star resort. They do not touch any items in the room, only change the bed sheets. **Rooms** The rooms are somewhat modern, but the balcony doors are made of old wood (I cut my hand trying to close one). The balconies are also tired and worn, in bad condition. Again, not what I’d expect from a 5-star resort. **Food** The food here is plain and bland, with no flavour or variety. On three separate occasions we were provided raw meat photo of one of the occasions attached. They have themed nights, but only a small portion of the food is themed, and again, not much variety.
