The staff is very kind and friendly. Feel the slow life in Finland. Our flight arrived in the morning and the owner offered to have breakfast, rest, and get the room ready early. During the period, the activities provided were also very exciting. The most recommended is chasing the Aurora. The tour guide was very experienced and we were very lucky! I saw the aurora on the first day The check-in date was New Year's Eve, and the hotel prepared a New Year's Eve dinner, champagne and fairy wands for everyone, and participated in the countdown atmosphere! Really happy! !

What an amazing stay. We stayed in the panoramic log cabin, it was worth every penny. The jacuzzi at night, watching the stars and complete peace and quiet. The activities were all extremely enjoyable and well organised. We did the 6 night package and loved every minute. We didn’t see the aurora so will have to return. Highlight of the trip was husky sledging, snowshoeing and snowmobiling ❤️

We stayed on a 4 night package having previously stayed at the excellent Wilderness Hotel in Muotka. It's a close call but Nangu was even better. Lovely room and super-friendly staff. All the guides were amazing - well-informed and keen to make sure the guests were happy, but a special mention goes to Reuben who went above and beyond on our trips out with him. The food was first class, buffet breakfast, lunch with a choice of hot or cold dishes and dinner, which was limited choice but superbly presented and delicious. Cannot recommend enough 10/10

We were truly impressed with our stay!! The hotel is at a perfectly beautiful and quiet spot on lake inari, with some elevation around the archipelago so you can see some nice views by walking or snowshoeing. We stayed at one of the Panorama Log Cabins - it's totally worth the splurge! Having your sauna was very nice (also works well as a dry room, even when it's switched off), but I especially enjoyed the hot tub overseeing the lake. In the late afternoon when the light was magical and the lake was quiet, I could've stayed there forever. We had a corner room (504) and enjoyed lots of privacy - we slept with the curtains all open and the moonshine against the glistening snow was beautiful beyond words. The bed was so comfortable, we rested incredibly well in them. FOOD was generally excellent. Breakfast didn't have a lot of daily variation, but I love the spread and can have it every day (literally did). Lunch is also a buffet and dinner was a semi-buffet. I love the food, seriously, way better than Savoy in Helsinki for example - but I have to say, it's almost always fish or vegetarian for the dinner mains options, and for my non-seafood eating husband, he was craving for some proper meat by D4. Was a bit disappointed not having any reindeer option for dinner though! The GUIDES were all amazing - a special shoutout to Pippa and Aida who took such good care of us, and their love for the nature was infectious. I lost a part of my camera during snowshoeing, miraculously Mattie found it for me later! I enjoyed all the activities - ok maybe not so much aurora snowmobiling (though we got to see the aurora there). My helmet's visor were all frosted up, and through the dense fog on the lake at night, I could hardly see anything while speeding (ok maybe not speeding) at ~40km/hr. It was a bloody cold night as well! We haven't done any of these winter outdoor activities before, so it was all very interesting. And even though it might sound short (2 hrs for cross country ski and ice fishing) but it was enough. For the longer activities (snowmobile adventure, snowshoe), the guide will cook lunch for you, was very lovely to sit around a campfire while they do so. And these are not simple lunches, you'll have a hot sandwich, a salmon soup, some dessert, coffee or hot chocolate! Snowmobile adventure took us to a little frozen harbour and we met some wild reindeers on the way. It was also lovely to meet the huskies and the baby reindeers as well. Ok about the aurora. I guess it's all down to luck in the end. Just one comment that I wish they have more aurora hunt by car options so we could choose to join when the forecast looks good but the lake was foggy. Oh and if you're deciding between different wilderness hotels - if you're not travelling with children, I'd choose Nangu over Nellim. It's a much more beautiful hotel building and location. Last, don't be too anxious about what to wear. Obviously you bring your own base layers and base layer glov

What a fabulous 4 days we had. Everything was fantastic. The staff were all lovely - efficient and friendly in the restaurant and the food was absolutely delicious every day - a real credit to the chefs. The guides were knowledgeable and great company and the activities were such fun. The cabin was toasty warm with a jacuzzi on the balcony and sauna in the bathroom. We made such special memories that will last forever!

A brilliant retreat for 5 days, notwithstanding the incredibly cold weather. Cabin was comfortable and warm and we availed of our private sauna and outdoor heated spa. The spa was a little disappointed as the way it was positioned, provided no privacy. The food was very good but a little more variety would make it even better. Staff were friendly and helpful and the guides on the tours were first rate. To cap off an amazing trip the Northern Lights put on an amazing show for us!

Three day Arctic Adventure in an Aurora cabin. I had to write a review as we’ve just returned from the most amazing trip ever! Do not hesitate to book; all the praise in other reviews is true and worth it. Stunning location, well run exciting and exhilarating activities, friendly staff, cosy cabins with comfortable beds (and pillows!) and gorgeous plentiful food. The trip of a lifetime, we’ve returned with so many memories and photos! Thank you to all the staff and owners, this is not easy to achieve!

We had a fabulous 4 day stay at Nangu. The rooms are lovely, very clean and a good size, the beds are really comfortable. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. The food was delicious, we particularly liked the traditional Nordic Salmon Soup. There were lots of options at breakfast and lunch. At dinner the starters are buffet but main courses and desserts and served. The only comment we would make, is the bathroom in the room was plenty big enough for a bath, but it didn’t have a bath. Would definitely recommend this hotel for a truly special, unique stay.
