This is a very good hotel. I didn't stay at the hotel last time when it was fully booked. This time I made a reservation in advance and my husband and son enjoyed our stay. We rode along Shimanami Kaido from Imabari. Due to the hot weather, we started late and arrived at the hotel 2 hours later than scheduled. However, the hotel service staff kept in touch with us frequently after receiving our emails and reminded us of things to pay attention to on night bus routes. Upon arrival, the service staff gave a very warm welcome. The next day was still too hot, so we were sent to Tatara Ohashi Park. This is a very reassuring hotel that feels like home. We stayed in the cafe the next day, looking out the window at the sea, sailboats, sunshine, and listening to bossa nova music, everything slowed down. Thank you for giving us a safe and warm journey.

A hotel targeting those who come with bike. We stayed in two bunk bed rooms. There were hanger on the wall, a small safe, reading light, USB charging port and a power socket. Even though it’s bunk bed, all of us had the best sleep in the whole trip, as it was very comfortable, dark and quiet. All staff speak English and were very friendly. The breakfast was very good quality and the restaurant was next to the sea. There’s a laundry room and bike rental is available. We enjoyed our stay here a lot.

This place really stood out to us (family of 5 with adult daughters) during our Japan travels. It’s super cool design wise. The incredibly helpful staff speak great English. We got the package that included e bike hire and a fantastic BBQ that was served by Deisuke who was a particularly charming host and very knowledgeable - also with very good English.

Staying at Wakka is a complete delight! The infrastructure is buikt to be part of the natural environment. The staff are a delight. The bikes for rental are top quality. The half board meal is full of varieties and locally sourced ingredients. My biggest concern was the shared shower facility, but Wakka kept everything clean and spotless. It's simply a delightful place to stay in and rejuvenate. In fact, our family is planning another glamping stay with them again.

Amazing stay in one of the cottages. The luggage service was friendly, reliable and efficient. It allowed us to cycle the Shimanami Kaido without worrying about the logistics of moving our luggage. A big thank you to all the staff at Wakka!

Me, my husband and daughter stayed here after a days cycling. The staff were so lovely, helpful and friendly. The friendliest people we met in the whole 2 weeks. This place stood out to me. The girls behind reception were super helpful with great English. Our 2nd day of cycling was cancelled due to rain and we were given a shuttle bus ride to the bus stop so we could get to Imabari. Highly recommend a stay here. Me and my husband stayed in one of the cosy huts which had a terrace and my adult daughter had a dormitory all to herself.

Conveniently located about halfway between Onomichi and Imabari along the Shimanami Kaido, WAKKA is much more than a halfway stop. Staying here is an experience you won’t forget for a while. Between us we had a cottage and a dome ‘tent’ both with views of the water & the Tatara bridge (across which we had cycled). We opted for the BBQ dinner on our deck & it was wonderful: sashimi appetiser, local seafood, vegetables & meat (amazing steak, boar sausages, chicken) as well as rice, dessert and mint tea! The hospitality here is so warm that we felt immediately welcomed. All the staff were lovely. Reika (from reception) suggested a trip to the local onsen (public bath) and provided a voucher as well as minibus shuttle (10 min way). This was a great experience and good way to relax after a day’s cycling. We enjoyed breakfast sitting on the cafe deck (great coffee) before we set off for another day of cycling. As well as cottages & dome tents, there are dormitory beds for a more economical stay. WAKKA also offers support to cyclists who aren’t staying at the hotel.

This place was awesome! The staff is very helpful with multiple complicated requests. The front desk girl spoke very good English, and was one of the most friendly people we have met in Japan. There is an Italian worker who is practically fluent in English. The rooms are, extremely comfortable, clean, with a lot of amenities for the location. There is beautiful surrounding scenery, with beautiful views from the rooms. I travel a lot, and I loved it. I can not think of anything they could have done better. Keep these people in business. I don’t normally bother with reviews, but I had to leave this. Thanks WAKKA!

Our group of eight adults came to Wakka to start bicycling the southern half of the Shimanami Kaido - we took the ferry from Tadanoumi Port near Onomichi to Omishima Island, where a van from Wakka came to pick us up to bring us to the hotel - a great group of people who were attentive to all of our needs: great food, fun "glamping" accommodations, with fantastic sea views, close to a swimming beach a few minutes walk away, and a wonderful gift: access to their washers and dryers to do laundry. The best part: they have a full business to rent bikes for the ride - our group rented their top-of-the-line Specialized lightweight ebikes, and they met us at the end in Imabari to collect the bikes and helmets, and transferred all our luggage to out end point. I highly recommend this place and I am so grateful for their attentive help during our stay. Several members of our group said they want to do this again!

I booked WAKKA as a midpoint on my bicycling trip across the Shimanami Kaido. This is a wonderful small inn of recent construction. It worked so well that I stayed an extra night and used it as a hub to bike to art sites on the island and neighboring ones. I especially enjoyed waking in the morning to a wonderful view of the ocean, bridge and neighboring island. And, the staff is very accommodating and helpful. It made for a great trip.
