The location of the hotel is undoubtedly a highlight: It is located in a beautiful and quiet area right next to the trout pond, which creates a relaxed and picturesque atmosphere. However, there are a few points that urgently need improvement. The hotel is showing its age in many places. The rooms and bathrooms could urgently do with modernization in order to meet the standards of a 5-star hotel. The lack of air conditioning was particularly problematic, which made for a very unpleasant stay when the outside temperature was high. The broken TV in my room was also a small defect that should not be found in a hotel of this category. In addition, the constant lighting outside at night significantly disturbed sleep, which made the stay less restful. Unfortunately, the pool area was only partially in use, which severely limited the possibilities for use. The staff was another mixed point: some employees were friendly and helpful, but others seemed rather annoyed or snooty, which gave the feeling of not really being welcome. Overall, I'm afraid I have to say that the Hotel Zu den Rothen Forellen doesn't hold up compared to other 5-star hotels. The potential for an exceptional experience is there, but it urgently needs extensive renovations and service improvements to reach the high standards of this hotel category. In terms of service, I had mixed experiences. Some staff were very friendly and tried to make their stay pleasant. Unfortunately, there were also staff who seemed either stressed or indifferent, and at times I felt like I was more of a burden than a welcome guest.
