You never know when choosing a hotel online if it will be what you expect. From the moment we stepped onto the property, we knew we were in the right place. The staff jumped up to greet us and showed us to our room without delay and quickly unloaded our baggage. The room (number 9) was spacious with a nice table and chairs as well as two other chairs to relax in. It is literally the cleanest hotel I have stayed in and I have stayed in many four and five star hotels that were not nearly as well kept. The bathroom was modern and well furnished with all the amenities you would want. Every request was completed within minutes of asking. We never had to wait for anything or call a second time. The first evening we were sitting at table outside near the water and had the pleasure of meeting the owner, Marco, who sat and visited awhile. He is warm and engaging and offered us suggestions on dining and wine tasting. He even personally called and booked us. At his suggestion we made changes to our plans and were glad we did. The breakfast is delicious and served outside on the terrace or garden. We had dinner the last evening at the hotel’s Michelin star restaurant and again it was outstanding. The food was excellent and the entire team who served us were fantastic Throughout our stay we met several of the owner’s family who work there. It was an exceptional stay and we can’t wait to return to this special place again.

What a beautiful hotel! The photos don’t do it justice. Everything was perfect - the staff were excellent, the room was quirky , massive and wonderful, the meal was exceptional at the restaurant which is just over the road …. And the owner (who served us breakfast) was lovely Just Fabulous …. We’ll definitely return

I stayed here 3 years ago and just came back for 2 nights . It’s a fabulous hotel with very friendly , helpful staff and some of the best food in the region . It is one of my favorite hotels in France and highly recommended for couples and family Rob , Sydney Australia .

Excellent family run hotel, attentive service, big and friendly rooms, exceptional but very expensive breakfast. There is a spa with good treatments, heated swimming pool and great Michelin starred restaurant. Loved it!

This was our second stay at Hotel des Berges, and we loved it again! Terrific friendly staff. Beautiful romantic pastoral location on the River Ill meandering by our deck and the property in general. Very comfortable rooms with the automatic wood louvred shades; excellent breakfast room with a view of the river, which also serves as a bar/cocktails place in the evening. And of course, one doesn’t stay here without dining at the incomporable Augerge d’Ill on the property. One of the great restaurants of the world! We dined there twice on this occasion, and it was simply marvelous both times. We also dined a night in between at the Restaurant a la Truite directly across the quaint bridge over the river, and enjoyed that as well. Illhausern is a short ride from the Rhine where you can easily cross over from the Autobahn, and situated close to the excellent villages of Colmar, Ribeauville, and Riquewehr, in the heart of the Alsace wine country, and only 25 miles south of Strasbourg. In other words, an absolute perfect place to stay while visiting the Marches de Noel, as we did. We look forward to returning! Highly recommend!

Hardly anyone would ever stray to Illhauser if it weren't for the sensational cuisine of Häberlin and this wonderful gem of a boutique hotel. The hotel is very luxurious as before and the rooms are furnished with an understated elegance. In the rooms in the main building, connections for mobile devices should be made available over time. The view of the river, which is lined with mystical weeping willows, is wonderful. The bathroom is equipped with fine bath products and extremely fluffy bathrobes. What is the latest highlight is the new heated outdoor pool, which is also suitable for swimming. And of course the fabulous and rich breakfast served at the table à la Häberlin with homemade delicacies that invite you to feast early in the morning.

We are sitting in the oldest part, dating back to the 18th century. Romeo and Juliet give our suite with a view of the I'll its name. Valuable unique pieces on the walls, stylishly conservative. A romantic hotel couldn't be more beautiful. Since the last visit in 2017, it has been renovated with taste and a sure hand without damaging the incomparable atmosphere. It is a little embarrassing to be able to enjoy it in this day and age, but also delightful. What a wonderful place, what enchanting, friendly, perfect service.

A wonderful suite in the main house. The decoration at least takes some getting used to. The request for two duvets was immediately fulfilled. Don't be too fat - bathrobes end at xl. The spa area and outdoor pool an absolute dream. You could stay here, but the hotel lives from the attached restaurant, and that closes on Mondays. The staff is multilingual and exceptionally friendly. The breakfast is to be highlighted. To pay extra, but plentiful. Everything is served. No queuing at eaten buffets. This is how the morning starts well.
