Dexamenes is a superb hotel with limited number of rooms (40), making it a personalised experience. 30 minutes drive from the port of Killini and ancient Olympia, the city of Patras at just more than 1 hour drive. We got a very warm welcome, followed by a tour of the site, being a former wine factory. The setting is very nice, with some trees, even small vineyard and at the border of the sea with a private beach. We had a great room with sea sight in a former ”wine tank”. With direct seaview, even when lying on the bed ! Fantastic breakfast and service, high quality food. Small buffet combined with à la carte breakfast. Great mornings sitting outside under the trees with seaside view. Just fantastic. You need a car to visit the area. Via the hotel we booked a private tour at ancient Olympia, with a great guide, many thanks Elena (@Elena Aggeli) for taking us 2,5 hours on a very interesting tour ! Dinner is served in the evening outside, once again with seaview. Very good restaurant with high quality food. A la carte menu, ideal for 4-5 evenings, as no major daily changes except for the ”catch of the day”. Which we can recommend. Very nice bar. Really friendly and helpful staff. Came here for our honeymoon (familymoon). The hotel itself is absolutely stunning, the place is huge and probably one of the cleanest hotels we have ever stayed in, cleaners are certainly on point. The pools were lovely and quiet which was nice but full of loadssss of dead flies everyday which didn't get cleaned out. Also the pool bars closed 3 days into our holiday without being told meaning we had to walk to the other end of the hotel for a drink with my mum who struggles to walk, we paid for an all inclusive package but ended up having to buy drinks so we could go in the pool and not have to walk back and forth for a drink as it was very hot so obviously drinking plenty. Excursions are shocking, I love to get out and see things outwith the hotel but there is nothing at all, they had 1 Excursion on a Friday which got cancelled so we had to stay in the hotel for our full 10days. Entertainment was absolutely shocking!!! I don't think I've ever seen Entertainment so bad in all the hotels I've stayed in. The ”Entertainers” literally danced in their own wee group at chairs so no one could see them and they would all just chat amongst themselves instead of actually getting the guests involved, we ended up leaving every single night. The hotel is extremely boring for kids and would probably be better as an adult only hotel. Food was also extremely repetitive, it was okay but it was the same stuff every single night and didn't have much options for kids so my daughter didn't eat there at all, we had to buy her food daily (she is a fussy eater but still wasn't much choice) I also ended up having the same thing almost every night, would be better if they changed it up a bit. Most staff were nice, again don't really communicate with you though unlike other hotels and some extremely rude staff, one in particular in the restaurant who made the table for me, my partner and my mum and literally threw cutlery at my daughter!! I really wouldn't class this hotel as 5*
