Menin Gate House

Menin Gate House is truly a remarkable piece of history. As a family of five, we found it spacious, well-equipped, and incredibly comfortable. The amenities were excellent, and the location couldn’t have been better—just a short walk to the shops and local attractions. It was lovely to prepare meals in the cozy, well-appointed kitchen. We stayed for three nights and easily could have stayed longer. Parking was simple and convenient, right on the street. From the moment we met Benoit, we felt welcomed. He was generous with his time and knowledge, taking the time to explain the history of WWI and why Ypres is such a significant place. His passion made our visit even more meaningful. We’ve made amazing memories at Menin Gate House and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area

As a family of 5, 3 adult sons, we had an amazing time at Menin Gate Houses. We actually stayed in both as decided to spend another night in Ypres so moved into house 2. Cannot fault the accommodation, the location, and especially Benoit, the host. Our stay coincided with a very difficult time for him, yet he was attentive and provided us with an experience at the Last Post ceremony we will never forget.

Extremely warm welcome from Benoit to this spacious and comfortable house right opposite the Menin Gate in the centre of the town. The house is filled with memorabilia from the First World War. We were very pleased to join Benoit for the moving last post ceremony at the gate.

A stones throw from the Menin Gate and full of interesting photographs and artefacts beautifully laid out over three floors.Greeted on arrival by Benoir who pointed out local landmarks that we would not have known without his knowledge. J Collins.

Perfectly located and everything in the house is of the highest standard. The historic articles, art and books in the property are unique. Ben was a wonderful host, very knowledgeable of the history of the area and very attentive. So much to see and take in within the town or short drives away. We would definitely come again.
