The Elephant Camp

The Wild Horizons Elephant Camp offers excellent accommodations in roomy, high-end tents with king-sized beds, a sitting area, generous bathroom and plenty of external places to view the terrain, both at the tents and in the common areas. The food and service at the Camp were all excellent, and the activities they organized for us were well done. Their conservation and elephant rehab activities are inspiring.

The service was excellent in a beautiful setting. The tents were luxuriously appointed with lots of space. Dining choices were limited, but very well prepared and delicious. The only minor complaint was the poor internet, but this did not at all detract from our wonderful stay.

The coolest tent I’ve ever stayed in. The staff is kind and caring and very accommodating. Seeing animals on the property was a plus! And I highly recommend taking a game drive. There is so much to do and see and learn while relaxing and enjoying Zimbabwe!

My husband and I traveled with our sons on an African adventure that included a stop at The Elephant Camp in Victoria Falls. We are all still in awe of the incredible experience we had. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warmth and exceptional hospitality, which set the tone for the entire stay. The service was outstanding – every staff member went out of their way to make us feel comfortable, ensuring we had everything we needed and more. The camp itself is stunning, offering a perfect blend of luxury and nature. Surrounded by breathtaking scenery, we were constantly surprised by the beauty of the landscape. The setting was peaceful and serene, yet full of adventure at every turn. Although our stay was only 3 days, Tendai and Marshall saw to it that we experienced everything. They created a customized itinerary for our family and welcomed us back to the camp each time we returned making us feel very welcome. Wonder was an outstanding guide: he is so patient, kind, incredibly knowledgeable, passionate about animals, and encouraged us to revel in our experience each day. He made every safari magical. George was our wonderfully kind driver who took us on many excursions ensuring we had a good time. There were many incredible servers including Thandie who was exceptional, and MK who always made us feel special. Overall, our stay at The Elephant Camp exceeded all expectations. The combination of outstanding service, exhilarating excursions, and the stunning natural beauty made it a perfect getaway for our family creating memories we will treasure forever. The accommodations are magical -- some tent. The staff is phenomenal, especially the naturalist/guide, butler (waiter), and steward (room attendant). The food is creative and delicious. The setting is truly lovely with wonderful views. And then there are the elephants! Wild ones to be found with your guide, and rescue elephants that you can touch and feed -- some very large ones. If the game drives are not enough to keep you fully engrossed, then turn your attention to the magnificent Victoria Falls, which you will learn about with a member of the Camp's team. This is not low cost travel, but it is worth it. Bring cash, as you may not find an ATM handy. Mobile phone cameras are totally amazing, but don't reject the idea of a real camera with a telephoto lens without giving it some serious thought.

An absolutely incredible place to stay. The food and the chef were fantastic and the staff were very helpful, explained everything and set up some truly memorable experiences for myself and my family. We got to eat incredible food, go on guided trips to the falls, see incredible sights and see the gorgeous landscape and animals of Zimbabwe.
