Saltvík Farm Guesthouse

A great stay in the farm house. We stayed there for two nights. It was only 5km away from husavik where we joined the whale watching tour. We had our breakfast at 8am and managed to arrive the whale watching centre at 9:05am. The view from the farm house was really nice (the sea and the snow mountains). Staff was nice. We could use the kitchen for lunch and dinner. They’ve got utensils and pots and bowls. And microwave and oven. Basically everything you need. The dog was cute. We also joined an icelandic horse riding session there. It was amazing. The girl was friendly,experienced and helpful. Breakfast was simple and the croissant was delicious. Room was much better then we expected. More and less like a hotel room. We enjoyed staying there very much.

A slice of heaven. Our only mistake was staying only one night. The staff was very helpful and welcoming. We brought our own food and were welcome to eat dinner in the common dining area and were included in the conversation with staff and other guests as if we were good friends. The room was very clean, super quiet and the beds very comfortable. In the morning, watching their horses graze with sunlight dancing on the fjord at the edge of their property was an experience I will never forget.

We had room nr.4 with the best view to bay and mountains. Very calm place. Room and everything alltogether was superb. Good breakfest. Common kitchen with good equipment available all the time. Horse riding tours with discounts available.

Disappointed If you’re looking for views of the Northern Lights, you won’t see them here because the facility has bright lights everywhere. We could not turn off the light outside our door and it lit up our room, even despite curtains. Dirty shower. No greeting from the hosts or goodbye. Not even coffee available.
