Hurth Hotels with Wi-Fi

Very pleasant hotel for a one-night stopover. Spacious free parking. Friendly staff, both at reception and in restaurant. Nice room design, single room was spacious enough and bed fairly comfortable. I loved the restaurant: great food (in particular dinner, but free breakfast was quite nice as well) and they have nice outdoor seating (backside, away from the main street). Only downside was that they had major issues with air-conditioning and the whole system was not working (hopefully solved soon as I was told a technician would come next day). In the first room I got, the aircon kept making an annoying noise (even turned off). Fortunately, reception gave me another room (still no aircon but at least no noise). The last room on the 3rd floor had huge windows which could be opened like doors, so the room cooled down sufficiently during night anyway.

Very clean, modern, spacious apartment. Kitchen included four of each item, bowl, plate, cutlery, glasses. Small slecebtion of pans. Fridge with small freezer part. Only to hob rings and basic microwave. Slightly let down by only two seats for the breakfast bar. Very comfortable bed in the bedroom, my children shared a sofa bed which isn't ideal and they said wasn't overly comfortable. We oybstayed 2nights but I would imagine staying her longer would also be comfortable. 15minutes easy drive to phantasia land. Not anything other than apartment resturant in walking distance. Drive to mcdolads and a couple of other resturants is around 3mins, supermarket 5mins.

The location of the hotel is a bit outside of Cologne in the countryside. Going to Cologne requires definitely a rental car or your own car. It is a very quiet location in the countryside. Good for hiking and biking or walks through the nature. The city center and some supermarkets are about 2 - 3 minutes driving away from the hotel. Walking there is a bit far. Driving to Cologne will take you roughly 20 Minutes, depending on where in Cologne. The Cologne Airport is about 30 to 40 minutes driving distance. The rooms are clean so far and tidy. The disadvantage of our room was, that the bathroom has no window. So all the warm wet air from the shower goes to the room. An exhauster resp. fan in the bathroom is running but cannot catch up with the amount of the warm wet air. The double bed is a bit soft, but anyhow clean. The room itself is big enough for some luggage and 2 people. TV is included as well as hair dryer and safe. What is a bit a pity is, that there is no fridge in the room. Especially in Summer, when you buy some food, and you have no fridge is a problem. The staff at the reception welcomed us heartly. Unfortunately, the rooms can only be entered after 3 pm due to cleaning process. This is a bit uncomfortable when you come too early, but if you know what to do, you can spend the time by other activities. The staff at the breakfast were a bit unfriendly and their faces are more or less looking unhappy resp. strict. This makes us feel very uncomfortable during breakfast, when you feel like a burglar or not welcome. The breakfast itself is a typical German breakfast with bagels and cold cuts. Missing some cut fruits and yoghurt resp. quark. The cold cuts did not taste very delicious, and the liver sausage was definitely cheap. Missing furthermore cream cheese. For international guests not used to this kind of German breakfast will be a disaster. No international food. Only scrambled eggs, that’s it. Jam out of a dispenser was also a bit strange for us. All in all we can say that the hotel is good for a short trip or stay. A longer stay from our point of view will be a problem due to having no fridge. The location in the countryside is nice and quiet, but you definitely need a car for certain activities. The distance to certain cities or sightseeing or activity places is attractive and reasonable. Close to Cologne let you have a nice shopping in Cologne, but a quiet stay for the night. Recommended for a short stay.
