Overall good resort, food and service are good, however, the animation is weak and it is inconvenient to have to go to the beach by car

Just returned from a 10 night stay and was totally underwhelmed with this hotel. From the moment we entered our room we had a problem. 1 of the beds were broken and when l tried to call reception, found the phone was broken too. The towels in the room were small and past their best with holes and stains. Overall the hotel was grubby. Plastic table mats were never cleaned and the windows and surfaces were also dirty. Dirty surfaces were probably the cause of the fly infestation we suffered. Trying to eat your meals with flies landing on you or your food was so annoying. They did send in 1 pest controller with a handheld fly zapper The food was eatable but not enjoyable and didn’t vary. I was bored eating the same things and even the 1 visit to the fish restaurant we found exactly the same food as the main restaurant. The entertainment was rubbish and not worth waiting until 22.00 for. WiFi in the hotel is practically non existent and after logging in you can’t open websites or even email. Relaxing by the pool is difficult with the constant interruption from staff trying to sell you a massage/ beauty treatment, a trip outside of the hotel or photographs . They do operate a do not disturb sign but they just ignore this. Thank god for the glorious weather and a good book.

I did not expect what happened even in the worst hotels in Hurghada،My family and I stayed there on September 12th(villa 43, ground floor). On the second day of the stay, we noticed water on the floor of the room. At first we thought it was from the air conditionar. I told the reception, (Wael) , two times at that day, and he promised me to solve the problem, when we returned in the evening,We found that nothing happened. Before eating dinner, I told the reception again, a female employee, about the problem. She assured that she would solve it, but nothing happened either. On the last day of the stay, I went to them and Wael was there, I asked him why you didn't fix our room problem, he said rudly you told me it is the conditionar and I sent someone and found that the conditionar is OK,!!!!!!!!!!! I told him what, I didn't know the cause of the water, it is your responsibility to fix the problem whatever the cause. He didn't Handle the problem, didn't give us another romm and he even didn't say sorry!!!! thank you royal lagoons for that horrible and unexpected vacation.

Let’s start with the positives: -good location for airport which was less than 15 minutes away -the hotel itself was clean and pools were great. A few different ones, all well kept. There were always places to sit in the sun or shade no matter what time of day we went -majority of staff, especially in the dining part and cleaning staff, were wonderful! So friendly and happy to help -if you want to book an excursion, the smiley man who sits by the ATM is very reliable and helpful! -lunch and dinner were ok. There is lots of variety and always basics you can fall back on -the private beach and the bus to it are great to get away from the hotel for a while and get some sea Whilst I can appreciate we may have just gotten unlucky with the room as other guests didn’t seem to have similar problems, these problems were unacceptable and absolutely highlighted how this is not a 5 star hotel like we were sold…a 3 star at best! The room itself…the balcony door to our ground floor room didn’t lock meaning we never really felt safe leaving our belongings in the room, the shower didn’t drain, the towels were ripped, the safe never worked, they were building a wall right outside our room and making a racket, but worst of all, the key card sensor on the door would beep repeatedly and loudly at random hours of the night so we always had broken sleep. Many of these problems were reported to reception on multiple occasions and we were always told they’d be looked at or someone had already been round whilst we were out but only the shower drain got fixed and everything else remained broken Tip: get a red bag from the towel hut and hang it on your sunbed otherwise you get hounded by sellers trying to rope you into massages, excursions etc. we unfortunately had the horrible experience of a massage. Not only was it an uncomfortable massage where they ignored our requests to only work on certain areas, they then very rudely demanded a tip in USD and the EGP tip we had given was not sufficient and they refused to accept the “small notes”. They demanded we go get more….we did not and we also did not return for the second set of massages in the package we purchased so that was a waste of money and we left feeling uncomfortable, embarrassed and aching! This set the tone for the holiday and unfortunately left a very sour taste for us on day 2 of our trip! Do NOT recommend using the spa or getting any massages! Save yourselves! Breakfast was always chaotic and there was never any order. More a fault of the guests than the hotel but people were hoarding croissants like they’d never seen them before and the queues were always long! There was also always someone trying to sell you smoothies. You’d think for a 5* these would be included!…speaking of which, the all inclusive for drinks is super limited - local spirits & mixers and 1 type of beer, everything else was extra charge We also found q we out that the different coloured wristbands you are given signify where you are f

This hotel is absolutely vile. On arrival the lobby was packed out with people to then realise it was the only place in the whole complex to connect to the wifi . A member of staff took us round to our room . The room was filthy , luckily the bedding was clean. If you have ever been to Butlin’s then you will know 🤣🤣 We were told we could go for some supper at 11pm. The buffet was minimal as expected for that time. In the morning we went for breakfast and the food was shocking nothing like it shows on the photos. Luckily they had an omelet station or i would of starved to death 😂 The snack bar by the pool was basically donut balls with dips. So if you are expecting chips/ hot sandwiches then think again. They where tiny little cute birds helping themselves to the donuts 🤣 The staff ranged from angry to creepy. They were not attentive in the slightest . The man in the handbag shop called me an evil lady because i told my friend to look around first before purchasing. We also paid £40 for a massage. me and my friend shared a room during the massage and the women doing the massage spoke to each other the whole way through . They wouldn’t let me and my friend get changed in privacy and demanded a tip. We got asked by the reps if we wanted to go to a night club for £15 each. He basically walked us to the hotel across the road which resembled the ‘inbetweeners movie’ Honestly this holiday was a right laugh 🤣 and definitely one to remember. On the plus side they was a small english bar outside of the complex , cocktails where amazing :)

Hotel Royal Lagoons Aqua Park Resort & Spa attracts tourists with a lower price compared to other five-star hotels. The main advantage of this hotel is its nice rooms, but that's the only thing the hotel can boast about. The hotel lobby combined with a bar makes it very difficult to find a free chair and the reception is crowded all day long. The lobby bar serves drinks (including alcoholic drinks) in plastic cups, it rarely happened that the bartenders found a couple of glassware. One day the mineral water had a yellow tint, the waiter claimed that it was the fault of the device, but I didn't dare to drink it. The restaurant is modest even by Egyptian standards. The meals are monotonous, the fruit is in a very poor assortment. Some tables are equipped with cloth napkins, and the rest, due to their lack, with paper napkins. But the biggest sore point is the lack of coffee and tea machines. Tourists are at the mercy of waiters who, taking their time, bring jugs of strongly brewed tea and coffee. The hotel prohibits the reservation of sunbeds, and meanwhile, instead of cleaning the pools, the hotel staff carries a lot of towels first thing in the morning and, in exchange for tips, throws them on the sunbeds both by the pool and on the beach. Tourists are transported to the hotel beach in very dilapidated buses with bruised and cut seats and poor cleanliness. The lack of care for order is visible at every step, the access road to the beach is strewn with plastic bottles and cups. The beach also leaves much to be desired: It is sandy and pebbly, the sunbeds are very old and wooden and require replacement, the mattresses are torn, as are the screens. The booth, which should be a changing room, is in a terrible mess and no one cares. There is a lack of sparkling mineral water in the bars on the beach and in the pool. To sum up, I do not recommend this hotel, sometimes it is better to buy a slightly more expensive offer, but with a much higher standard.
