I spent two nights (a Friday night and a Saturday night) at this DoubleTree with a couple of friends when we were visiting the Huntsville area. Overall, I was not terribly impressed. For starters, my friends and I arrived after the official check-in time, but our room was not ready and we had to wait about 30-45 minutes in the lobby before we could get to our room. However, the room itself was clean and comfortable and a nice arrangement with a bedroom that was separate (with a closed door) from the living area. That was nice. However, aren't guests supposed to be offered a warm cookie whenever they check in at a DoubleTree? I wasn't offered a cookie... not that it mattered all that much, but it's a nice touch that makes DoubleTree special, and it was lacking here. The second problem we had was that I'd specifically requested housekeeping service for our stayover day, and it was not done. Quite annoying. Third, when I went to check out on Sunday morning, I asked for a printed copy of my receipt... but the clerk had to walk to some other room way in the back to grab it for me. I had to wait something like 5 minutes for it before I could leave. I can't speak to the breakfast because my friends and I had breakfast elsewhere... but one thing I noticed was that the bar didn't appear to be open at all during our stay which was disappointing to see. One redeeming quality of the hotel, besides the niceness of the room, was that there was a business center where I could use the computers to surf the net which is what I often like to do during my downtime whenever I'm traveling. This DoubleTree is an older property but it's kept up okay. I was just not impressed at all with the way it seemed to be managed. I'm a diamond-level Hilton Honors member and didn't feel as if I was treated that way. I should have asked to speak with a manager but was so focused on other things that I didn't bother. I considered giving this hotel a Poor (2-star) rating but I opted for an Average rating because the property itself is fairly decent and I slept well. I will never stay at this DoubleTree again.

I was excited to try my first stay at a Hilton Garden Inn in Huntsville. Unfortunately, it will be my only stay at this hotel. Due to my Diamond Member status, I was offered a free upgrade to my room before I arrived! I was excited about it because it never happened before. However, my “upgrade” came with a broken refrigerator and inoperable jacuzzi! And when traveling with items needing to be kept cold, this was unacceptable. The jacuzzi was the “upgrade” but I never got a chance to utilize it. I hoped that by twisting the dials, checking the plugs, and wishing a little bit, that the fridge would be working when I returned from dinner….. it didn’t work. I knew calling the front desk was going to be fun. (Sarcasm!) Approximately 5 minutes earlier, I walked in the front door after dinner and saw the front desk employee sitting on her chair between the office and front desk looking like she couldn’t wait to go home. When I approached the desk, and stood there for a minute, she looked up and I was greeted with a look of “why are you bothering me!” I asked for two waters, which was then met with resentment, because she had to get up (I feel like). I was then met with an interrogation about the waters, and if I had gotten some before at check-in. The whole situation was rude and uncalled for. When I called Michelle at the front desk to talk about the fridge as I now knew it wasn’t working at all, I could tell that I was bothering her (once again). I told her the problem and she stated she would TRY and find someone to fix it. She also asked if it was plugged in… lol. Why would it NOT be plugged in? I then requested a room change, but she said she would find someone first. I told her this was supposed to be an “upgrade” to my original room and that was met with a “whatever sigh” and “I’ll call you back.” I was not pleased with the interaction as I’m sure no one would be. Approximately ten minutes later I received a phone call that no one could be found and I would get a new room. (I believe my original room - No upgrade). “Just come down and I’ll get you new key cards.” When I went to the front desk for the new key cards, I waited patiently off to the side as she dealt with another customer. As she was working she looked over to the side, saw me (and recognized me from the early interaction), rolled her eyes and said “here you go” with an attitude. Again, like I was bothering her. I finally got to my new room, and was able to “relax.” Other issues in this room included the bathroom was dirty, their were reddish-brown stains near the trash can and on the wall (you make up your own mind on that substance), the shower was sub-par with weak pressure, and the light to the thermostat wouldn’t dim. (I finally removed the whole thing from the wall at 0400). The entire stay wasn’t worth it. From the stay itself to the employees, I really expected more from Hilton. Save your points and your money! I’d like mine back!

We were in town for my mother-in-law’s funeral and opted to stay at the Marriott. I travel frequently for my job and expected this location to meet the usual standards. Unfortunately it did not and I was thankful we were only there one night. Check-in was interesting as the frazzled staff seemed insufficiently trained to handle the computer system or provide a warm welcome to guests (not just us but the other encounters I witnessed). Granted it was hot outside, but our room was stuffy and humid. The A/C in this aging facility was barely putting out any cool air and it was positioned where the vents would not adequately ventilate the room. I called the front desk and was told someone would come up to see what could be done, but no one came. My husband and I had poor sleep because we were so uncomfortable. The next morning, the front desk was unattended when we went down to checkout. I dropped our keys in the designated place but really wanted to just give some feedback to them so I waited around long enough to know that staff were non-existent or elsewhere. I feel our negative experience reflects on management as it is their job to run a properly functioning hotel. I can’t blame the inexperienced staff. On a positive note, the room was clean and there were plenty of towels in the bathroom.

My fiancé and I stayed 3 nights here and were very pleased with our room; the cleanliness, comfort, and price. We just needed a place to rest our heads at night and a shower; nothing fancy. We were very pleased with the stay, and the staff were very friendly. The room had a decent size fridge and microwave; large bed, and spacious room. We would stay here again.

My stay was ok. The breakfast was good. Coffee was available 24/7. The only complaint I have is the very thin window shade. Light shined directly in my face all night. I got very little if any sleep. That is a deal breaker for me.

Our second stay here. The last time, we had problems at check-in and had to wait for our room, despite checking in online well ahead or arrival. Excuse at that time was that they didn't anticipate so many bookings on New Year's Eve. We didn't understand that, as that is a special evening where a lot of people go out to celebrate and reserve a hotel room. Especially in an area where this Element is located (tourist location, lots of restaurants, a place where people go for special occasions, etc.). We thought that maybe that experience could be chalked up to low staffing and the holiday, so we decided to book again. The check-in experience was MUCH WORSE than last time ! As before, we checked in online 2 days ahead of time. We actually arrived one hour later than our scheduled arrival time. Our room was STILL not ready, along with those of a lot of other disgruntled customers still waiting in the lobby. Excuses from front desk personnel were inconsistent, with some saying that the hotel was ”overbooked” (you have a set number of rooms - how can that be ?) Some customers waited over an hour. After waiting almost 45 minutes, I had to call Bonvoy Customer Service to get any resolution, and only then were we quickly told that a room was ready. The room could've been cleaner and the food offerings at the hotel could've been better, but we could've overlooked some of that, had we not had to endure such mis-management of the check-in process. This hotel is in a great location, and holds such [promise. But, we are not eager to return, unless these management issues are resolved.

Had a wonderful stay here. The room was very clean and the bed was very comfortable. Deontay McDonald made our stay a breeze and helped us with all our needs the entire stay. He went out of his way to make sure we were comfortable and knew all the activities the hotel and Bridgestreet had to offer. Will visit again and recommend to friends and family.

We had planned to spend one night here before a 6:15 am flight, but a once in a lifetime winter storm resulted in a four night stay. The hotel has a great staff, comfortable and quiet rooms, and a good location for airport travelers. I cannot compliment the staff enough during our stay. One thing that guests should be aware of, the hotel restaurant is only open from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm due to covid. I had turned in my rental car, so leaving the property for a meal was limited. There were some prepared breakfast items at the front desk. The only other food options is in the concourse food court which is inside the secure area of the airport. A helpful TSA employee suggested we ask for a gate pass from our airline which we did. You can also go through security if you have a boarding pass. The hotel restaurant was good, but we were looking for a little variety since we were stranded for four days. This hotel is a great option if you have an early morning flight and wish to stay at the airport.

Outstanding
I cannot express how pleased we were with our stay at this beautiful hotel. We only needed a spot to rest between a long drive home (Florida to Indiana) and Huntsville was the middle point. We arrived at nearly 11pm, and were greeted warmly by the front desk. Check-in was a breeze, and every need was assumed, and assumed correctly. The cleanliness of the hotel, the decor, and room space were all equally impressive. When we woke this morning to enjoy the free breakfast, I was shocked by how many great, healthy options were available (especially at the oatmeal bar!) and how clean the space was. I couldn’t have been prepared though for how absolutely amazing the staff was during our whole stay. Although I haven’t had contact just yet with the lovely lady at the front desk, I truly am inspired to be a kinder, happier person just by the light she shines on others!! She made my heart so happy just hearing her interact with guests and staff alike. This has truly been one of the best experiences staying in any hotel for our family, even if it was only a 12-hour stay! Amazing job, keep up the great work!!
SSB821We were in town for a family reunion, and our cousin chose this hotel for a bunch of us to stay, plus take over a meeting room for two nights. We play cards, dominoes, spoons , etc. Checking in wasn’t great but it worked out, we thought. We then saw that we had been charged $1200 for two rooms for Friday & Saturday night, one room was charged three extra times. Jocelyn was on the desk when I went down to have it “fixed”. That girl is wonderful, she told me upfront that she knew at her old workplace she knew how to fix it, but she would try and make it right. It took her about 10 minutes and she did it. She also showed me she did it. Later that night I was checking to see if my brother had made it, and checking on his room. When he called to make the reservation he was told he could not have a handicapped room because we were already getting a discount (wow), when I asked Jocelyn about this she apologized and stated she did not know why he was told that. He did in fact have one and she walked me down to it and showed me to make sure it would be ok. Jocelyn was friendly every time my (Entire)family needed anything. You have a great team working there. We never had any issues, and if we did they were fixed pretty quickly. Your breakfast area is great, a nice variety of foods was really good. Thank you all for helping make our stay great!
Room was awesome! Almost full kitchen, beds were comfy, water pressure and temp was on point! All staff I encountered were nice and helpful. I did the app for the room key. After figure of out how to use it, it was neat. Room was ridiculous expensive. I would not pay that much if I wasn’t being reimbursed. While the kitchen was nice I had no real use of it. If you are there 2 weeks - maybe. Ice machine on 2nd floor didn’t work the first night. I got a text the next morning asking if everything was ok. I reported it not working. 2nd night ice machine still didn’t work - I went up to 3rd floor like the night before but it wasn’t working either. Finally 4th (and final) floor had ice. 2nd floor did not have ice the next morning either. I didn’t bother trying others then I didn’t have time to hunt ice. Carpets in the hall were badly stained in several places. Breakfast was good, but unless you count ketchup and mustard it was no where near the 400 item buffet advertised in the elevator. Actually you could probably count each thing they had - 6 biscuits, 2 muffins etc and still not get 400. You have to ask for housekeeping. Really- over $300 a night and you have to ask???
If you’re traveling by yourself or one other person, this is a nice budget option for sure. The staff was very friendly, the room was good, the bed was comfy. No breakfast, no problem. Here’s the problem I had: I booked a suite with a bedroom and a foldout couch and living area. They swapped my room for a WAY smaller one at the very last minute, after I confirmed my reservation by phone a day prior. My friend and I had to sleep in the same bed together. We laughed it off, and that was not a big deal. Nor did I make a stink at the front desk, that wouldn’t have helped. I had a friendly and professional chat with the woman at the desk, and she said that’s basically all they had. So I got stuck with it, then brushed it off and lived with it, as anyone probably should. Another whole room would’ve been excessive, we didn’t really need that, but we were way less comfortable. They shouldn’t have switched our room on us like that. The room we got was cheaper than what we reserved, and they gave us zero recourse, but we’re nice guys. We’re low-budget guys, but that’s a low-level scam. So we’re just not going to stay at Sonesta Suites hotels anymore after this. We’re experienced travelers for our jobs, and we only go back to places that don’t pull this kind of stuff. In all fairness, they told me that the place was under construction, and that was the reason why we got a small room. That’s not the point. They had my phone number and email address, and could’ve given me advance warning. Just 30 seconds, a voicemail or quick email. That’s shady man. We stayed there for just one night, but what if you the reader are planning on staying a week? That could easily amount to a bigger problem, for more than one person. There’s a pretty decent-looking Drury Inn & Suites closer to downtown, just far enough from the highway to be quiet. I’ll check that place out next time I’m in Huntsville. For all you budget travelers out there, Sonesta Suites - Exchange Park is very safe, but not quiet due to the ongoing construction on the hotel. We had guys banging on the outside window with hammers at 9AM. Mornin’ y’all, we didn’t object, we just got up and ate our food. If you book a room with more than a bed and a chair, be warned, that’s what we thought we were getting. I have the pictures that Sonesta Suites posted of our room from when we booked the trip. You might not get the same room, but it’s a solid room. The kitchenette was useful, full fridge and freezer, but we could do without a cold-shoulder from the Sonesta corporate office.
GGuest UserWe had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The staff was friendly and pleasant, especially the very nice lady at breakfast. The room was recently renovated, and the bed was extremely comfortable. My wife and I were there for the Lauren Daigle concert at the Orion Amphitheater. It is a close walk from the hotel, and definitely the way to go. The walk is a direct line, well lit, and there were plenty of other people around. After we got back to our room we noticed that 45 minutes later cars were still backed up, trying to leave the venue. This is now our place to stay in Huntsville!
GGuest UserAs hotels/Inns go, this Marriot was nice, but it was the people who made this place feel like a home away from home. From the young guy with the longish hair who warmly welcomed us, to the room organizer whose name started with D and who was an absolute joy to chat with, to the smart, sweet woman with a beautiful shock of gray who said goodbye to us, we were more than comfortable and happy with our experience. The room and grounds were clean and pretty, and we’ll definitely stay here every time we come back to Huntsville!
GGuest UserI really enjoyed ESA Huntsville. The staff was amazing the manager Angela is awesome. She made sure room was cleaned and check in process was ver smoothly. I recommend this hotel to all my family member when coming to visit Huntsville.
GGuest UserDo not let the pictures fool you! This is the nastiest place that I have ever been to in my entire life. Our plans changed at the last minute. We had to attend a wedding. This was the very last hotel room available in Huntsville. I now know why! It was a busy fall weekend. There was a big football game. People were on their way to Florida for fall break. When we pulled up, the clientele was scary. It looked like a crack hotel!!!! I think some of the people staying there were homeless. As a matter of fact, the room a few doors down from us had suffered a fire. My assumption is that someone had been cooking meth. There were bugs on the walls. We slept in our street clothes! We didn't even shower there. We stacked the furniture up in front of the door because we were afraid that someone would come in our room! As soon as the sun rose, we left! Do not stay here under any circumstances!!!!
GGuest UserI rarely rate a property this low, because I always want to give it the benefit of a doubt when reviewing, but unfortunately this location isn't up to par in most all areas. The staff was courteous, but were probably just following instructions. In all the other factors, the hotel's presentation and policies are not up to Choice's brand standards. I'm a Diamond member and travel extensively so I spend many nights in their properties. I've stayed at Suburban locations before and had a much higher expectation for this stay. There were no utensils, cookware, plates, etc. in which to utilize the kitchen area as broadly advertised. Cabinets were peeling, the refrigerator and floor was dirty. The bed clothes are very thin, and you're given just two towels and a bar of soap. The room had a very unpleasant order. I had booked a weekly rate, but when I decided to change travel plans due to the unsatisfactory conditions, they went back and charged me a much higher for the nights I had stayed, as well as an early check out fee which was close to what I would've been paying for the entire 6 days. There was nothing in the reservations or the paperwork that disclosed any of these policies. So, just be careful - their property is a bit run down, and their rate policies are deceiving and unfair. Their staff is courteous, but I'm sure they're just following orders due to the type of clientele they serve and due to the type of property it is and as they need to be careful in regards to secure payments to recoup all the can. If you need another extended stay type of arrangement, I'd look elsewhere unless you have no other options. If they could get the policies and procedures, as well as a refresh of the property to meet the higher standards that their employees exhibit, then it could be a great place. For the current time, your dollars would get better value elsewhere.
Jjmorga532995I enjoyed my stay there and will be back again soon .. the breakfast was good , the pool was fun and clean , the rooms were clean and so comfortable.. I rested so good and it was peaceful!! Great hotel
