Customer service was friendly.
Place was clean-ish.
Breakfast was at Econo Lodge across the street.
Nothing fancy about the place. Looks to be newly renovated.
Neighborhood iffy so lock your door. The lighting outside was really bright so that probably helped to keep riffraff away.
Hi gang, Returning from Nampa, Idaho Winnemucca was a familiar place for me. Last time I stayed at the Winnemucca Inn. This time my research led me to Candlewood Suites. Located next to Winnemucca OD, they even leave a police vehicle in the parking lot. No substitute for being safe. The room (3rd floor) was clean and quiet. As mentioned there are full kitchens in the rooms. Easy location to whatever you need. Friendly checkin although it was very difficult to understand what she was saying due to her mask. She lowered her mask and all was well. Large parking lot in front, back side has parking, too. Elevator has @ strong hydraulic fluid smell during use, it runs fine. You know you reached your floor because you’ll feel a jolt. No breakfast or pool. For this kind of money ($176/night) I’d expect at least a nearby restaurant breakfast credit. A little short on the “bang for your buck” factor. Coffee avail in room but didn’t see any tea bags. I’ve found it never hurts to bring my own to be sure. Some local traffic noise from front facing rooms. Shower knob loose, I’ll mention it to the front desk. Rich

Stayed on a weeknight in a two double bed room for $100.68 thru Vio. The walls were painted an ivory color with the wall behind the beds painted brown. The bedspreads were a drab dark brown matching the dark brown carpet, with older dark brown furniture, but it was all clean and the bed and pillows were comfortable. This is your basic Super 8, an older motel, with older furniture and bedding, but kept clean. You kinda know what your getting at a Super 8, nothing new or bright and middle of the road lodging. There was a large flat screen LG tv which, unfortunately, displayed a non HD picture on all channels. The towels were of good thickness and there was plenty of hot water in the tub/shower. Unfortunately, my a/c unit under the window failed to really cool the room as the compressor would only come on for very short periods of time, even when set at 60*. It just blew out air at room temperature most of the time. Fortunately, I was on the second floor and the temperature cooled down outside overnight, so I opened my window (which fortunately had a screen) to let in the cooler air. If it weren’t for the a/c issue, I got what I paid for and just what I expected at this Super 8.
Motel 6 Winnemucca, our little oasis in the middle of the desert, is located off of I-80. Restaurants are within walking distance and shops are nearby. Enjoy our seasonal outdoor heated pool. Free Wi-Fi is available in all modern guest rooms.

As I'm traveling for work, and under a tight schedule, I chose this hotel for its advertised A/C, high-speed wifi, and apparent cleanliness. None of these were available. It's 101 degrees outside and the AC doesn't work. I asked about the Premium WIFI, as I'm stopping here specifically because of my need to connect for Remote Tele-work, and was told that ”that's handled when you get to your room. You just sign up and pay”. When I got to my room, the two options on Motel 6 wifi are ”free” or ”4.99/day”. When you click ”4.99/day” you can only enter a Prepaid Card number....??? What?! Why would I be traveling with a prepaid card? I called the front desk, and they repeated the same inaccurate info. I looked all over online, and countless reports of the same thing. So... how does a paying customer access premium WIFI? Also... the property. SUPER SKETCHY! Random people wandering around with puppies, children, really ragged people in and out of their cars but never going anywhere (broad daylight). I called and asked about the A/C and they sent the handyman up and he said, ”yeah, your room is HOT! Can I get you a fan?” A fan?! It's 101 degrees in my ”air conditioned” hotel room, that I PAID FOR?! Hands down, the WORST hotel experience I've had. If I don't get mugged or stabbed tonight, I'll be surprised. Motel 6 used to ”leave the light on for ya”, but now I think that bulb has burned out, and no one seems to have any plans to change it.

Excellent
ZZ AllenNewer hotel. Clean and safe. Friendly staff. Comfortable beds. Room ac/heater units were not as reliable. Had to change rooms a few times. Free breakfast was typical grab and go food. I recommend going to the griddle for breakfast instead. Overall a great place to stop and rest that's a great value.
