Staybridge Suites IAH Airport East

We spent a night at the Staybridge Suites during an overnight transit stop in Houston. Overall it was a great experience, however our first impressions weren’t great when we had to wait about 50 minutes for the free hotel shuttle. The hotel is only 5 minutes away from the terminal, so not sure why it took them so long. Anyway, check-in was fast and easy and the reception staff were friendly and efficient. The room was excellent – roomy, very clean, with lots of natural light. There was a functional kitchenette with fridge, stove, microwave, and dishwasher, as well as a nice sitting area for watching TV. The free internet worked great. We enjoyed watching the planes pass by the window coming in for landing however there was no plane noise whatsoever. We made use of the hotel gym which was fairly well equipped. There were a large number of high-quality cardio machines as well as a small selection of dumbbells and a small multi-gym. As for eating options, the hotel had quite an extensive room service menu. However we opted to go out to one of the nearby restaurants: Jack-in-the-Box, Waffle House, Sonic, etc. Unfortunately, we didn’t make it to any of these places as we saw a taco bus parked outside the gas station and ordered up a great Mexican dinner. There is also a large convenience store attached to the gas station. Overall – great experience – other than the issues with the airport shuttle. You’d be hard-pressed to find a better spot for your transit stop in Houston.

Hotel needs updating with worn carpeting and other wear. There was scrap piece of paper in the room and a dirty hand cloth in the bathroom, so you really wonder how poor of a job they did with the rest of the cleaning. The hotel hall had a smell. The shower was slow to drain. The shuttle bus is shared with several other hotels, but wasn't bad. The bed was acceptable and it's quiet at night. The parking lot lights are incredibly bright and shine toward the hotel, but the shades are good. There is dish TV. Breakfast is decent with scrambled eggs, sausage, hash brown patties, apples, oranges, some sugar type cereals, yogurt, oatmeal, french toast, milk and coffee. Typical gym is OK, with 5 lb and 25-50lb dumbbells. Price was cheaper, so you get what you pay for, but I'd likely stay elsewhere if I return to the airport for a night.

My stay at Staybridge suites was a very warm and comforting stay. My housekeeper, Isela was an absolute daily blessing. She made my room inviting to return to after working 10 hour shifts. Not to mention Ms Jacque preparing a complimentary hot meal in the evening. I would highly recommend any short or long term business travels, this is the place to stay! Safe, clean and accommodating.

It's very nice here. The bed was very comfortable and I slept well. Although the breakfast has few categories, it still tastes pretty good. The service was also very good, and we arranged a bus to the airport. It's only ten minutes away from the airport, which is very convenient. There is a gas station and restaurant next to it.

Am a travel Registered Nurse and stayed in room 227, WoodSpring Suites Signature Houston IAH Airport in Humble for 3 months and a few days. Overall, it was a great experience during my stay. Pros: Great staff, from the front office to housekeeping. DeAndre Harvey, Jessica Godoy, Emmanuel, Matthew and Chris all stood out. Very professional and courteous. Chris went above and beyond by accommodating my request to clean my room early so I can catch some sleep, since I work at night & sleep during the day. She's very proud of what she does, always has a smile on her face, while greeting every guest she encounters. Such a great asset to the company. The gym, which I made use of quite often was very clean, with functional equipment and sanitizing wipes always in place. Cons: There was miscommunication between staff regarding my payment. I had to be woken up on two instances close to 11 a.m. to either renew my payment or check out, whereas I had renewed the day prior each time. On the first occasion, the lady staff had to come to my room twice, demanding to see my receipt, which I obliged her before she apologized, stating that she did not get any report of my payment from the staff who handed over to her. I understand that there may be slip off in communication but happening twice was much embarrassing to be honest. I thought it's one of those reports oncoming staff would easily pull out of or verify from the computer, rather than relying on verbal communication by outgoing staff. If that's not the case, then one will suggest upgrading the computer, with staff education in the regard.
