Yiyun Mountain Residence (Huangshan Scenic Area Nandamen Branch)

I am glad I chose this family run hotel. It's 5 years old but looks new and modern. Room is very clean, well appointed with good windows. Boss and wife are friendly and helpful. He was a guide for 8 years and helped us plan our hiking routes using his excellent free map. He will drive you to the bus terminus to take a bus to Huangsan cable car station, less than 10 minutes away. Dinner was good at the hotel's restaurant.

Good location, away from the neon lights and trinkets of Tangkuozhen. Located next to pretty Emerald Valley, for a gentle scenic walk/hike to get your legs back after hiking Huangshan. Beware: little to no English is spoken here so have your translator app ready. The hotel owner or his son will call a cab for drop offs, pickups, or day trips (Hongcun, Bamboo Forest Mukeng).

I had a wonderful stay at this new hotel! The owners are so nice and go out of their way to make you feel at home. The room was new, spotless, spacious and had a lovely window nook overlooking the valley with mountain view’s that was perfect for morning tea! Set is a quiet town away from the bustle. The bed and linen were fresh and super soft and the shower was lovely and hot! The food was delicious, I ate there every night! Def try the local winter bamboo shoots - yummy! The owner arranged for my pick up from the train and back which made my trip so easy (50mins drive from Huangshan North). He also brought me to nearby attractions and helped with buying tickets. It’s a five minute walk from Emerald Valley which is a nice 1.5 hour return hike with some nice waterfalls. It’s also 5 mins drive from 9 Dragon Waterfall which I would highly suggest. It’s a 10 mins drive from the South Gate which is your gateway to Huangshan National Park. Have suggested this wonderful hotel to friends already and I will be back! Such great value too!
