The newly renovated lobby is stunning - we didn’t believe the lobby photos until we actually saw it in person. This resort is a real gem of Hualien and of ********* fengshui in general. Service was courteous at the front desk. They were very kind to give me a room before 3pm knowing that I had traveled more than 17 hours and really need to rest. Restaurant service was very slow. They were short of staff. No one was around to take my bill. Food was average. Really liked their cold dish with lotus root and red bean. Dinner buffet was very pricey. Couldn’t quite justify $30 per person. I was disappointed when I went back for the breakfast buffet. They served the same cold dishes and fruits from the previous night. Felt like we were eating leftovers. I picked this hotel because of their outdoor pool. It’s an outdoor 25 meter pool. It was lovely swimming laps and enjoyed the ocean view.

After check in, there are still some small ideas for reference: First, the lobby on the first floor is very clean, the cafe is very clean, must be the result of hard staff cleaning! But it is strange that the public toilet on the first floor is not big, but the toilet trash can is full of toilet paper (all full to the floor) but no one cleans it. Is it strange? Second, before check-in, everyone said that the service staff here is very enthusiastic, ㄟ...... is not bad! But I didn't feel the enthusiasm! When I checked in, the counter lady gave me a formal explanation (I looked up at them, no smile!) The next morning I went to borrow my bike and the gentleman asked me to fill in the information with a straight face! At last, when I checked out, I pushed a 27-pack full of suitcases and two full backpacks into the heavy front door of the hall. The counter lady looked at me and said, ”Be careful on the way! Fabulous stay. Love the quiet, serene ambience although there are sounds of dogs and animals which is common in nature. The host, Mr Zhang is so warm and helpful that we felt treated like old friends coming for a visit. There is a dog and many cats in the house but non threatening. They make themselves scarce, somehow if guests are afraid of them. As the BnB is up on the mountain, it’s easier to get around if there a car. The host goes out of his way to help and provide advice on where to go and how to get there. Perfect host! The only room with twin beds is the family room for four. The other room is spacious to with king or queen beds. A good place for a retreat.

Great place to stay! Very comfortable rooms, clearly bike friendly. Good customer service with friendly staff at check in, free parking on site. I loved the modern biking decor throughout the lobby! Rooms have a water view and are comfortable. The included breakfast was very good with a decent selection. Overall a clean comfortable stay, would definitely recommend this hotel to others.
