The Nern Chalet hotel combines two things that are rarely meet together: the feeling of homely tranquility and privacy and rather close location to shops, markets and city attractions. It's a really beach front hotel, and the steps to the sand (and directly to the sea during high tide) starts at the square with sunbeds under canopies. The territory is small but very well decorated with big trees, bushes and flowers, all of which are maintained in a good shape, every day a worker removes dry leaves, dead flowers, cut brunches, etc. The territories around the reception is very shadowy and has a number of various comfortable seats with pillows under blossoming trees, most of rooms have rather spacious balconies partly shielded by trees' branches and leafs, where two persons can seat at the table. The pool is rather small but nice because it overlooks the sea and has a Jacuzzi, which is turned on by the request. The beach and the sea at the hotel are both perfect. One can swim there even at low tide, there are no stones and corals at the bottom; besides, the slope is very gentle, which makes swimming of kids safe. The personnel is very friendly and in major helpful; the hotel is family-operated, and the owners treat their guests as dear relatives, e.g. suggest dishes cooked specially for them at a special dinner. The location of the hotel is very nice since inside you feel almost complete tranquility and privacy, very few noise, no strangers, but it is within 3-5 min walking distance from the Monkey hill with its Khao Takiab Temple, from a special trail through mangrove (just on the opposite side of the road near the hotel), from the market at a temple (it is in 3-4 min walk from the tuk-tuk stop after the bridge on the small river, then cross the road and enter large beautiful gates), and from final stop of tuk-tuk, which for 15 Baht and for 5-7 min drive can bring you to Tamarind Market or Cicada Market. As well, general stores (7/11, Family Mart) are within 7-10 min walk, and a lot of fruit sellers and places to eat along when going both right and lefto from the hotel in the street. There are only few things that could be regarded as small disadvantages. The first relates to monkeys that come every morning from their hill and try to steal food from the breakfast or to find it in your belongings. They do not afraid people at all, and the personnel generally protect eating guests by watching monkeys with slingshots. But when you leave your belongings after the breakfast near trees or bushes or at the balconies, monkeys can easily steal them. The second small inconvenience is that in the bathroom shields are not enough to protect the floor from water when you take shower. Finally, the owners can help you with you program to explore Hua Hin attractions - give advices and help to order car to take you. We have visited Pa-La-U waterfall (1 h 10 min drive), the Mongkol Temple (about 20 min drive), Monsoon Valley vineyard (1 h drive) and a point
Excellent
