So much to love and appreciate about Fordoun Hotel & Spa, its attentive staff, awesome amenities, world-class food and the picturesque surroundings. This charming boutique hotel is nestled in the Nottingham Road precinct in the scenic KwaZulu-Natal Midlands. The hotel beautifully blends historical charm with modern luxury; and has so much to offer. The rooms are individually styled, offering a unique, homely and cozy atmosphere. The spa is a highlight, featuring an indoor heated pool, an outdoor pool, floatation tank for the most relaxing out of body experience, yoga room, fitness centre, and other amenities. Sindi is an exceptional massage therapist and Zandile and Londeka will definitely make you feel at home with their warm, welcoming nature. Spa lovers will appreciate the variety of treatments, combining international ranges and uniquely African products made from Zulu traditional healing plants. The hotel's fine dining restaurant, Skye Bistro, serves gourmet cuisine prepared with seasonal farm produce and the freshest local ingredients. Their light lunch menu is sublime with great vegetarian choices and something to please just about every tastebud. Make sure you try their halloumi burger and sweet potato fries and their incredible dessert offering, Nompilo’s Cheesecake with berry coulis! The surrounding countryside, with its serene pastoral views, dams, and meandering trails, is perfect for walkers, cyclists, and fly-fishing enthusiasts. A lovely fully equipped self catering unit. We loved the two en suite bathrooms and especially the fire place. Despite being early Jan and the middle of summer it was a rainy miserable day. Full bucket of charcoal and fire lighters made the evening very cozy.

I recently visited Fordoun Spa, rated "luxurious" five-star spa, and unfortunately, my experience was far from what I expected. To my shock and dismay, my gold necklace was stolen from my Gown pocket, which I was asked to remove before going for my massage. As soon I realised I forgot to take it out from the gown I immediately reported the incident to the staff, but the way it was handled only added to my frustration. The communication was appalling. Instead of taking the matter seriously, the staff seemed uninterested and unhelpful. I was bounced around between different people, none of whom gave me a clear response or seemed to care about resolving the issue. I followed up multiple times, and each time, I received vague answers with no real progress. For a supposed five-star establishment, this level of service is inexcusable. Not only was my personal property taken, but the complete lack of professionalism and transparency in handling the situation left me feeling disrespected and ignored. I will not be returning and would caution anyone to think twice before visiting this spa, especially if you're bringing valuables with you.

Stunning and one of the most beautiful boutique hotels in the KZN midlands The amazing trees lined either side as your drive into hotel premises towards the reception sets up your entire stay to be peaceful and tranquil. The staff are ever friendly and helpful The rooms are stunning and outside landscape just amazing

Last weekend we stayed at fordoun thinking it's a 5 star accommodation. Below are the conditions of the unit. Blood stain on sheet. Flies that looked decaying on the window and shower. Clogged drain in shower plus worn out tiles in bathroom that didn't look 5 star. Unhappy as I splurged a lot of money considering it was our 20th anniversary 😪 Really upset.

I recently visited Fordoun and was absolutely blown away by the people and the property. Every single person was friendly and happy to help in any manor. The property itself is literally like a paradise, huge trees, beautiful views and such wonderful serenity that I could not believe I was still in the Midlands! The food at the Skye Bistro is phenomenal- I had the toasted chicken and mayo with chips but they have a wonderful menu with various options. The spa was my favorite, so much do see and do here, from the wonderful spa rooms to the indoor pool and even a gym, sauna and more, it was all very peaceful and exactly what a woman wants when she is on holiday. The accommodations were just as impressive, the superior rooms have a massive bath as well as an indoor and outdoor shower with a view of the Midlands. The room came with a fireplace and some very luxurious robes! Bed was comfy and the little tea and coffee station was perfect! I highly recommend a visit if you are in the area! You dont have to stay to visit the spa or the restaurant but I would treat yourself and just do it all!

We had an excellent stay at Fordoun. The hotel deserves it's high rating. After checking in we went for pre-booked massages at the Spa. The massages were good and the masseurs professional. The Spa's environment excellent. The hotel's restaurant offered good, wholesome dishes with friendly and efficient staff.
