"The room is large, two queen beds and a sofa, air conditioning is very good. The room has a small refrigerator, there is an ice machine in the corridor, and the environment is very quiet. The only downside is that the window cannot be opened. However, hotels in Houston seem to be unable to open the window."

"Breakfast was great. The room was clean and the facilities felt safe. I waited 30+ minutes to be checked in because no one was on the premises to do so and no one was answering the phone or text. I confirmed my reservation with the B and B several days in advance via phone and received no instructions regarding check-in. I found out later that I should have received an email/text with check-in instructions, but never did. Make sure you do. The room had a bed, a desk table and chair. No thermostat. There was a ceiling fan with a remote that didn't work, so no way to adjust temperature or turn the light off after you were in bed. I was just there one night and it got the job done, but won't return."

"I recently had the pleasure of staying at a youth hostel that truly stood out for its exceptional qualities. Nestled in a residential area, its location was incredibly convenient, offering a tranquil retreat just a bike ride away from the city center—less than 10 minutes to be exact. This made for peaceful nights, ensuring a restful sleep in a safe environment.
The hostel is run by a delightful couple whose hospitality knew no bounds. They were not only eager to assist with any issues that arose but also went above and beyond by providing bicycles. This thoughtful touch significantly enhanced my mobility around Houston, allowing me to reach various destinations swiftly.
What set this hostel apart was the attention to detail and the array of complimentary amenities, including cookies, milk, cereal, coffee, and tea. The cleanliness and smart technology throughout the house contributed to a seamless stay, making it the best hostel experience I've ever had. The bathroom towels folded into swan shapes were a testament to the owners' dedication to detail, adding a touch of elegance and care.
The warmth of the place was akin to being at home, with the owners always ready for a chat, eager to answer questions, and share their stories and experiences. A highlight for me was the world map on the living room wall, where guests could pin their home countries—a fun and interactive way to connect with fellow travelers.
In summary, this hostel was more than just a place to stay; it felt like a home, or perhaps more accurately, a homestay. It's undoubtedly the best hostel I've ever stayed in globally, blending the comfort of a home with the adventurous spirit of a hostel."
"The experience was quite pleasant. The members of staff who attended to our needs during our one week training were helpful and responsive to our needs.
Mariam, at the reception, was willing to assist and offer help upon request. The location of the hotel and the facilities were fantastic as well. All round pleasant experience"
"The location of the hotel is particularly good. It takes less than 6 or 7 minutes to drive to Rice U; there are many restaurants around the hotel, Jack in the box across the window, a BBQ restaurant is next door, just a few steps away there is panda express, you can also meet the needs of Chinese food, buy There is a Fiesta supermarket next to the fruit and food, and you can buy daily necessities for the children who are in school. Target is across the road. In addition, there are Bank of America, Tmobile and Verizon across the road. It is extremely convenient. Much more convenient than the hotel next to Rice. Breakfast is simple, but not bad. I stayed for a week without getting bored. Bagels, croissants, cupcake, waffle, milk yogurt, cream cheese, scrambled eggs, boiled eggs, meatloaf, bacon, etc., plus fruits, various drinks , Very healthy and balanced. The hotel is also very clean, the entire hotel is non-smoking, so don't worry about the smell of smoke."
"It was a nice hotel, but an old one. You could tell that by the color of everything. However, they kept it quite clean and maintained. It was really nice for the price. Not too far from the West Loop area. The breakfast was just okay.
Overall - I’d stay it’s a nice place for a short stay."
"I don’t know why this hotel has so many bad reviews. I just stayed here with my toddler and it was perfect for us. It was very clean. The rooms were a great size and the location was perfect. The room was decorated so cute. We loved it. The only negative thing I will say was that the elevator was very slow and only one of them weren’t. But other than that, I would definitely stay at Rusk house again"

Great
刘刘白子_lssGreat Service, Lovely Breakfast — but Room Noise and In-Room Dining Could Improve
I recently stayed at the Thompson Houston and overall had a great experience, especially thanks to the excellent service. Every staff member I interacted with was friendly, helpful, and professional. Their attention to detail really made me feel welcomed, and I was touched when they surprised me with a graduation cake — a thoughtful gesture I truly appreciated.
The hotel breakfast was a highlight. The food was fresh and well-prepared, and once again, the service stood out. Dining in the morning felt like a treat thanks to the welcoming atmosphere.
That said, there were a few downsides that affected my stay. The room was quite noisy, even late into the night. It was hard to relax or fall asleep with the amount of outside noise coming through.
Also, I ordered in-room dining on two occasions. On the first day, everything was great. However, the next day the fries were noticeably soggier, the salad was just a bowl of greens with six tiny avocado cubes, and — most concerning — the aioli on the side looked like it had already been used.
Overall, Thompson Houston left a positive impression on me, mostly due to its exceptional staff and quality breakfast. I hope they can improve the soundproofing and ensure consistency in their in-room dining service.
Ccharming_silasThe staff really made the experience above and beyond. We expected a very basic stay, the room and shower/bathroom was extremely clean. The check in/reception was really 100% amazing through and through. They make you feel right at home. Will book here again if needed in the future.
EEbenezerWe stayed at Home2Suite during our last trip to Houston but it was the one at Pearland. We arrived at this one late in the night and the staff at the front desk was very friendly. However once we entered the lift, we were welcomed with a strong greasy smell. The hall way had rug that was clean but obviously old.
The major concern was the room which had a hole in the ceiling inside the toilet dripping water all over the floor. The AC also wasn’t working well that even at 19 degrees Celsius, was still warm. Initial complain to the staff was met with no vacant room, that they were fully booked. We managed for the first three days because we were outdoors most of the time. The room was later changed to a more comfortable one.
The other thing was the swimming pool. My kids really wanted to swim during our stay but the staff mentioned that some handle to the pool was broken and that it was closed.
The breakfast was also good but with little varieties to choose from.

Very Good
VVallaSituated in a great location in the heart of the city in Downtown Houston with convenient access to the MetroLine Rail which is less than a 5 mins walking distance (Red line from Main Street and Green and Purple lines from Rusk Street). I was able to move around the city fairly easy.
For hotel facilities, I liked that there was a gym with free access, which included TV entertainment and a free-access laundry room with both washing machines and tumble dryers. There were drinking water fountains on each floor corridor for guests to refill on water and keep hydrated instead of requesting for more water bottles in their rooms. There were also vending machines available if preferred.
I was a little underwhelmed with the appearance of my first room. The weren't clean from the outside which affected my view. The bathroom mirrors were stained and the room space felt small even as a single guest. There was no mini fridge which I've found to be a hotel room standard and it would've been practical for storing cool drinks and snacks especially in the Texas summer heat. However, there was manually controlled air conditioning which helped. There was also no safe in my room for me to store my valuables and important travel documents which I found puzzling. Hence I requested a room change which the staff assisted me with. The second room was much better as it was a larger space which included an additional arm chair along with a small kitchenette (mini fridge, microwave and a wash-hand basin). The room was cleaner, however there was still no safe. When I enquired about it, I learnt that only some of the rooms have safes which is odd to not to be a feature in all the rooms, so I shared this feedback. Overall, the room decor was simplistic and suited towards business trip/travellers which I didn't mind. However, the rooms could be refurbished to look more modern and minimalist.
The staff were okay. They were helpful in assisting me with a room change when I wasn't happy but I didn't feel like I received exceptional customer service from any particular individual. Upon arriving, I didn't feel properly welcomed and informed about the facilities and a few staff members came across a little nonchalant in addressing queries and issues. For example, I requested a mini fridge to be added to my first room on day 1 which was meant to arrive the same day but instead arrived at my new room the following day when I made the room request showing a slow response time for when I actually needed it. Also my checkout process was very quick and I was informed that my deposit would return to my original payment card within 5 working days which did not happen and I had to follow up with manager who said he would email me to check in on the progress of the refund but I never received any further communication. I had to raise the issue with card provider who told me the the payment was marked as a pending refundable deposit and should the hotel not confirm my refund, then it would automatically be refunded back to my account after 30 days. It was extremely frustrating having to wait an entire month to receive a deposit, when I stayed in other hotels during my time in Texas whereby the deposit refund was instant upon me checking out. Needless to say that my overall experience was okay but could've been better, especially if I was staying there for the entirety of my trip. A few days staying there was enough and I would rate it a 3* rather than a 4* hotel realistically.

Very Good
GGuest UserEnjoyed the short stay here, services received was excellent. I loved that it was conveniently located near the airport and there was shuttle to transport to and from hotel, which made it extra convenient and they were on time, once reservations were made. We were pleasantly impressed.
FFeiyanzoubiFacilities: It is an older hotel, but the hotel building is very large, so it should be used for meetings or events.
Hygiene: OK, clean and tidy.
Environment: There is a back garden, and the atmosphere and environment of the restaurant are good.
Service: OK, but you need some patience. The hotel delayed the breakfast confirmation for a long time at first, but it was finally resolved.

LLIANGThe hotel is located in the western part of the city, close to Chinatown. There are various restaurants around to choose from. Affordable, you can cook and eat by yourself, the yard is very quiet, it is recommended to stay at this hotel
GGuest UserI stay here 2-4 times a month when room rates drop.Fresh coffee in morning. No breakfast but alot of fast food places to eat all around here.Huge rooms with all amenitiesSoft bedsRoku TVs with cable..
陳陳Very close to Her***n park, there are 010, 002 metro bus nearby, eating Subway, Burger King, MM, the location is not bad; There is a simple meal in the morning; However, in the room where I stayed, my colleague from the same company said that there would be a strange taste of ”roughly pen”, while the sheets and toilets were quite normal.
