we arrived to check in, get to our room and it’s very warm - says 70 on the thermostat but felt much warmer, so we drop the temp to 64 and decide to head down to the bar in the hotel for dinner and drinks - after that we run to the gas station and come back. All in all we were probably gone for about an hour and a half, we walk back into the room and it’s STILL hot. So I politely call down and tell them, the send a tech up. He’s looking at it and stuff and then he opens the cover of where the ac is and out comes a bunch of smoke - there was almost a full blown electrical fire!!!!! So then we go down to the front desk to get a new room, they tell us they don’t have anything to upgrade us to (we’re in a junior suite) BUT they’ll get us into a nice room in the quiet side + free breakfast. We’re rolling with it at this point and super cordial, we get up to the new room and it’s a major down grade. Not a suite like we paid for but a standard room with 2 full size beds. Now we are frustrated, so we call down they say they only have one of the rooms we paid for left but it’s handicap accessible and we’re like we don’t care - we want what we paid for. We finally get into the room close to 11pm. Wasted an hour and a half packing up and walking around the hotel, it was ridiculous.
