The Grand is without a doubt all about the location! Given it’s ocean front position it should offer an absolute premium experience but instead falls a little short as it continues to date without much sign of refurbishment. The rooms are basic, the carpets old, the furnishings aging and everything just feels in need of some love. Bathrooms still have showers over the bath with shower curtains and the air con in the room wasn’t very effective (too hot despite being on the coolest setting). There was also a wedding being hosted during my 1 night stay and despite my room being on the 5th floor (ballroom is on level 1), I could hear the band/music until the end of the reception at 11:30pm. On the positive (besides premium location), the staff at reception / concierge were excellent. They greeted with absolute care on arrival and happiness during check out, despite being early in the morning. It felt like they enjoyed what they did and that’s so good to see in customer facing roles. Worth considering this hotel for a stay, just as long as you’re happy with basic ammenities in a great location.

My husband and I celebrated our first wedding anniversary this year by visiting Adelaide. Stamford Plaza was our main base as we travelled throughout the region experiencing all of the arts, culture, history, Architecture, food and wine of the region. Our stay at Stamford Plaza was pleasant and clean with all the amenities needed in a central location. To raise the bar though it was the service we received at Stamford Plaza from Jacqui aka Jax that made it extra special. From her warm welcome, recommended attractions and hot spots to the extra special touches including bottle of wine to help us celebrate. Our memories of our stay in Adelaide were greatly enhanced due to Jax and the Stamford Hotel. Thank you!

The attention to detail was shown from when were greeted when we got out of the car and taken to reception. The location of the hotel was convenient to get to our business calls as well as walking distance to shops and restaurants. My only disappointment was the club access which l felt was not up to the Pullman standards we have experienced at other Pullman hotels. I would still recommend this hotel when staying in Adelaide.

The room was spacious comfortable modern and provided all the desired appointments. The bathroom exceeded expectations and was larger than most. We had chosen a room with a bath. Very good decision and very impressive room. The food was excellent although the choice was limited. We were disappointed however that there was no room within the dining room the upmarket dining area for hotel guests to eat so there would have been a wait for over an hour to get a table. Clearly the dining facilities are attracting many locals to eat there. This means guests often have to eat in the less quality areas. We did think the meal choices was limited for an upmarket hotel

We only stayed overnight here and the Hilton met all our needs for this perfectly. We had a fast trip back and forth to the airport. The room, bed, shower, Crabtree and Evelyn toiletries were all great. Service at the reception desk was excellent. I wished we had another couple of days to explore Adelaide, as I'm sure we would have enjoyed ourselves. We'd definitely choose this hotel again. We saw construction close to the hotel but we did not hear a thing and slept well.

Hands down the best hotel experience I’ve had in many years. I am an Accor member and was made to feel extremely special on our wedding anniversary. Staff were lovely. Our luxury room was fantastic and so spacious, all the amenities were provided or could be ordered via the in room tablet if needed. The only fault would be the in room fridge wasn’t very cold, drinks were just over room temperature. Will return asap 👌🏻😍

Do NOT GO to the restaurant, Koomo, on the 10th floor for dinner. The worst service we have had in any Crowne Plaza, or in any restaurant in Adelaide, and the most incompetent management to fix a very trivial issue. Last night my wife and I had booked a table for 6 people - two clients and two colleagues from Sydney and Perth.  The restaurant was about half full when we arrived. There were only 2 waitresses working in the restaurant, and it took us more than half an hour to be given menus, and a wine order to be taken.  It took another 20 minutes, after asking many times, for our food order to be taken. Two of our guests ordered a la carte from the menu,  and the other four wanted to try the ”tasting menu” - more expensive than the al la carte menu, with various preset courses. This is where things really started to go wrong. The tasting menu consisted of a choice between beef and chicken. Three people wanted beef and the other person wanted chicken. We were told by the waitress that the kitchen would not cook only one chicken for one person, and that two people would have to have this - in other words the four people could be served either all beef, or 2 chicken + 2 beef, but not 1 chicken and 3 beef. We really thought the waitress was joking, but realised she was serious. We asked her, very politely, if she could have a word with the kitchen and try to arrange this ”difficult” request. Some 15 minutes later the waitress returned and told us that it was not possible and the kitchen was not prepared to cook only one portion of chicken - it must be two portions and somebody else in our group wanting beef should cancel his beef and eat chicken instead. We asked to see the manager to see if he could sort this out, and very clearly told the waitress that if we could not get the food we wanted from the menu, then we would leave and go to another restaurant. No manager came to see us, but the waitress returned and told us that she had discussed with the manager and that the kitchen still refused to cook only one portion of chicken. We were not impressed. We paid the bill for the wine,  put on our coats and left the restaurant. As we were leaving someone from management (hotel or restaurant?) came to us and asked if we could reconsider and stay, and he would ”try” and convince the kitchen. Too late - our first experience of trying the Koomo restaurant had already been spoiled - poor service from the beginning and no feeling whatsoever for handling customers, and not any attempt to fix the very minor point of what we wanted to order by the management, until we were actually leaving.  I do not blame the waitress - she was caught in the middle with no support from the kitchen staff or the management. This is absolutely a management issue - one of making sure that all staff are trying their best to give good service to their customers, especially if the restaurant is selling itself as a high end one. Needless to say none of the six of us will go back,  and a

Decided to try he Arkaba Hotel bistro twice during my stay in Adelaide. I'm glad I did. Whilst this is a huge complex that has the bistro, pokies, sports bar and accomodation, it is a family friendly place that is well patronised. When I was there on a Friday and Sunday night, the dining room was bustling, with diners having a meal before theatre/comedy shows and birthday celebrations, in addition to the usual casual dining. On Friday night, I tried the sourdough garlic bread with cheese, which had some nice density to it, grilled to perfection with stretchy cheese. Then I had the beef schnitzel with mushroom sauce. The schnitzel was crunchy and I really liked the mushroom sauce - lots of mushrooms in a possible cream of mushroom soup base. Lots of crispy chips were on the plate too. When I went back on the Sunday, I had the Yoder smoked scotch fillet, once again with mushroom sauce. I didn't need the sauce, as the steak had a lovely Smokey flavour that stood on its own. I ordered mine medium, and it was cooked perfectly. The Caesar salad was fresh and tasty, and the dressing was not too heavy. The chips were crispy once again, but the only downside were the two onion rings, which could have done with a bit longer in the fryer. Meals are ordered and paid for at the register, with drinks purchased separately at the bar. Multiple televisions screens showing sport and select commercial stations are also present in the bistro. All in all, next time I visit Adelaide, I will be heading back to Arkaba Hotel for a meal.

GGuest UserWe stayed here last night as we were going to The 10cc concert. Arrival was swift and easy and the room was already available. Our room was a junior suite facing North Terrace, it was clean and quiet. We enjoyed 2 complimentary drinks from the bar. They have refurbished the hotel but I think the bar looks a touch bland and not welcoming. I would have thought that there would have been sanitiser available on all levels by the lifts and in the room also. The shampoo, soap etc no longer comes as individual packs but huge bottles and being still in Covid times I thought this a bit off putting. Breakfast was ok nothing special and luckily we had ours included or it would have cost us $42.00 per person and it was not worth that much. The pre-made pancakes were freezing cold. There was a good range of cereals and the fruit plates were nice but had defrosted and tinned fruit also. I found all the supposedly hot foods not hot but cool venturing on cold and they need to do something about the baked beans as they were nasty. We had a slight hiccup on leaving as we were almost charged for two glasses of red wine which we quickly told the receptionist we never had. She amended that quickly so all good.

The shower in the main bathroom however is not accessibility friendly as you need to step into a high bathtub with no handrail for support.

HHeyishengxiaomoThe geographical environment is good. It takes about 15 minutes to walk to the pedestrian street. The toilet facilities are complete, including large towels, body soap, shampoo, conditioner, hair dryer, washing machine, dryer, paper towels, roll paper, a bag of laundry detergent, a small bar of soap, and a bottle of moisturizer. dew. The kitchen has a dishwasher, a microwave, a gas stove, an oven, cutlery, dishes, dishwashing liquid, dish soap, three large, medium and small knives, a dishcloth, and a spatula and clamps for cooking. There's a pad, there's a kettle, there's a frying pan, there's a big stock pot. There is also a sofa bed. Disadvantages: Occasionally there are people talking loudly downstairs, which is very noisy. No slippers, no toothbrush or toothpaste, no comb. There are only 4 TV channels. It is not a smart TV. There is no TV in the room. There is no air conditioning in the room. The air conditioning in the living room blows into the room. The deposit of 100 yuan for check-out has not been returned to me after waiting for a long time. GGuest UserExcellent location, easy walking distance to amenities and public transport. Had to log into our own Prime and Netflix as it wasn't available on our TV. The bathroom was clean but quite tired, with a cracked sink and a fixed showerhead. Despite it being a queen room, there was ever only one set of cutlery provided. Having said that, we still appreciated our stay and would say that it was good value for money.

GGuest Userthis building was in a good position in the city, just opposite convention centre. Good service & very comfortable bed, but lounges & bathroom were old & in need of a makeover. basic toiletries were supplied & clean towels daily even though I left them hanging to reuse. the suite had 2 small double bedrooms, with 1 bedroom totally internal with no windows. It would be quite crowded if 4 adults were there.

GGuest UserAmazing staff and service!! Value to money unbeatable. Facility facilitates getting in touch with kind people. You'd be around very quick, but still it'll take some time to certain places. The airport is close. The neighborhood didn't feel too safe at night, but I suppose it's because it is the City Center. Therefore the security measures in the hostel are extremely good. If you have concerns or get harassed the staff is often around and might offer quick help. I'd definitely choose it again if I want to stay in the CBD.

GGuest UserThe receptionist we were greeted by seemed disinterested and preoccupied with appearance more than substance and just waffled off directions on where to park our car and how to get to our room in a rather vague manner. My wife and I were not any wiser and were left wondering. After locating what we believed was the car park we were directed to it turned out to be the local council offices car park with clearly “ no parking except council vehicles” signs posted all over. Back to reception to check on the correct parking spot and we were greeted with a different person who proceeded to advise us that the 10 car parks against the back wall was for hotel guests, and if that was full we could use the public car park and if that is full we could then use the council car park . ?????. On to the room. After a hold of $150 on our card and after filling out what was tantamount to a passport application we were given our room card and with direction given that would confuse any GPS system we set off to find our room. The room was very large, black walls and 2 tiny windows that were smaller than anything in Yatala prison ( we think ). There was adequate supplies of bottle water in the room ( all clearly tagged with prices) ( no complimentary water at all). The bathroom floor was dirty, the toilet roll dispenser was broken and the sink plug was a piece of plastic. The kettle was near impossible to fill with tap water as you couldn’t get it under the bathroom tap. At the time of our stay there was a wedding reception in full swing and the noise was incredibly loud. The interlocking door between sections was right next to our room and it would slam shut after every entry and exit ( about 25 times an hour). An added touch was the top up cart for towels, soaps, tea and coffee etc which was right next to our door. So, be aware that this is a very very noisy place. Overall the place was below par to most we have ever stayed in.

AAnonymous UserThis motel is perfect for a short stay when visiting Adelaide via car. Easy to get to being close to the main highways and roads in and out of Adelaide. Rooms had everything you needed for a short stay (except a microwave). Reception charge a $50 deposit for your stay so keep that in mind when checking in, you get it back on checkout but was a little shocked with how high this was considering we’ve been travelling around Australia for the past three months and never had a deposit this high. The rooms weren’t the cleanest and we opted to use our own doona as the one in our room had stains and smelt off, same again with the pillows with my partners one smelling of urine. Wasn’t a bad nights stay for the price, hopefully they fix a few things and I would stay again.
