This hotel room was the worst we have ever ever stayed in. Words actually fail me ,the curtains had rings missing, the chair we had to move to get round the bed was actually a 3 legged chair with the fourth hanging off.the room was very small.the bathroom was small with absolutely nowhere to put any toiletries. Couldn't even put a toothbrush or anything on the toilet cistern as it was bevelled.all toiletries in the sink while you showered then all toiletries into shower tray whilst you dried yourselves .what a palarver .. The green light which lit the room up was very weird . Anyway to be fair we tried to have a laugh about it ..thank god we didn't book breakfast. Ps the bar staff and manager were friendly, so we just put it down to experience.

This hotel was even better than I expected. It's a Grade 2 listed building which is beautifully, and tastefully, decorated. Breakfast is only served at weekends but it was delicious and cheap. The bed was the most comfortable bed ever and the shower was so powerful that my husband told me it would 'sandblast my body' so not to turn it on full. A wonderful hotel with great staff that I would recommend to anyone.

We have just had lunch today 14th October 2023... All I can say is...The cheese and onion pie was spot on👍 no potato in it. All cheese, onion with a hint of butter, also proper bicarbonate of soda soaked mushy peas... As they should be.... 9 out of 10.. would have got a 10 if there was more of it... 😋 My wife also had The lamb hotpot which was lovely too, proper comfort food 🙂

I've given quite a bit of thought about how I would write this review. In the end, however, I've decided to put down our experience exactly as I see it. We had what I can only describe as the worst hotel experience of our lives. I'm a native of Horwich who moved to Canada many years ago. We had decided to revisit the area as part of a UK road trip. Seeing the website describing The Bridge as a "boutique hotel", we thought it would be great fun to stay in "downtown" Horwich rather than at the Middlebrook. How wrong were we! The only room available was a Family Room, which was OK, there were only the two of us. The family bit of this equation turned out to be 2 camp beds in the corner of the room. Not a problem in itself. The real crusher came when we went to bed. We were still a bit jetlagged so went up around 9.00pm. It was then that the trouble began. Directly below our room was a function room. In there, was a 21st birthday party in full swing. The noise from the bass thumping out in the music was literally making the room shake. Eventually I called downstairs and asked for the Manager, inviting them up to experience what we were enduring. The Duty Manager, Lisa, came up straight away. To her credit, she immediately acknowledged that the noise was unacceptable. She said she had already spoken with the DJ once and would do so again. However, whether she did speak with him or not I don't know. What I do know is the music didn't get any quieter - in fact as it approached midnight, it got louder! I don't for one moment blame the Duty Manager for the situation, nor do I blame the young guy who was having the 21st birthday bash. I lay the blame 100% at the door of the greedy, inconsiderate owner(s), who knowingly sold a room to us in the full knowledge that it would be deafeningly noisy until well after 12.00am. We were due to stay for two nights, but we were down those stairs and out of there as soon as it was light. After a bit more digging, I found other reviews from people who had had a similar experience, so this wasn't an isolated incident, yet the room was still sold to us, ruining what we had hoped would be a nostalgic wander down memory lane. Trivial by comparison, but which would otherwise have been mentionable, there was no heating (boiler apparently was "on the blink"), no plug in the bathroom and a toilet roll holder that would have challenged Houdini! Also, there was the most amazing green emergency light on the ceiling that I could literally read by. I presume this is a throwback from when the room wasn't a guest room (I have 'photos of it if anyone is interested). What angers me most about this episode is that it will almost certainly be the experience of other guests time and time again and there's nothing you can do about it until it happens. Lisa, the Duty Manager, said she would bring it to the owner's attention (Dave) on the Monday. I was hoping they would man up and contact me to apologise, but I have heard nothing. I'm no

Stayed here overnight after a concert, very reasonable room rate. Was expecting to eat in the pub when we got there but there wasn’t any food being served at that time. We were going to wander elsewhere and find somewhere else but decided to wait, wish we hadn’t bothered. The food was very mediocre at best (the driest cheese and onion pie I’ve ever had) Finley deserved a medal, from check-in when we arrived to when we checked out he was constantly running the bar, seemingly single handedly and was very friendly and efficient. Our room on the third floor was absolutely fine. Walking distance to the stadium. Would definitely stay here again.

The Bridge Hotel was really great. The staff could not have been more helpful. Our room was spotless and the bed was REALLY comfortable (and I am hard to please with beds!) Pillows were good too. An unexpected surprise were the beautiful wall tiles on the ground and first floor (subject of a preservation order). We were on the top floor of the hotel in Room 3 with a lovely view of Holy Trinity Church and the hills beyond. It needs to be noted that there is no lift but the staff were more than willing to help with luggage. We would have given it five stars but for the inconvenience of having to go elsewhere for Breakfast because the kitchen is closed until further notice. But Thyme Cafe on Winter Hey Lane do a lovely breakfast from 9.30 and The Corner Cafe in Lee lane are open from 8.00.

No carpark ,well not that I could I see ! Check in at the bar ,warm greetings most info given shown to the room but its quite a few flights of stairs not great when you have lots of luggage! Room(5) is an ok size same as shower room Bed comfortable enough but there's a green light which is quite bright in the fire light! Next a busy road so can hear the traffic No plug for the sink and the toilet it looked like its not been cleaned for awhile as shown in photos , few large cracks on the walls also shown in photos No spare toilet roll but given a large roll from the bar toilets! The issue that I wouldn't stay again is that once the bar closes you have to call the number to either enter or leave which is a bummer as I get up early to go running and didn't really want to wake up the lady even though she said she would but shouldn't really have too maybe a night entrance would be adviceable!! Good WiFi, excellent shower No food being served and not many restaurants around! No breakfast included Would I stay again NO unfortunately not due to the being locked in issue. would i recommend yes if know what is involved
